Aiden Walker, better known as Bad Cop by the community or Unit 3650 in-game, is the protagonist of the Half-Life mod franchise, Entropy: Zero.
His voice was provided by Sam "Trivvy" Pearson
Personality[]
Aiden may be one of the few alliance soldiers which still keeps his self conciousness, this is further proven when he tries to talk or question his teammates, in most cases only a few reply him back and if they do, it will be with basic words much as like "affirmative" or "move".
Aiden's way of beign is very pessimistic and tends to see things with their most unfavorable side, in other way he's also very witty and quick when remarking a joke/reference to his adjacents, wheter if they are friendly or not. during the time of the second game Aiden develops a minor addiction of kicking doors to open them like the typical action movie gunner.
Story[]
Early Life[]
Not much is known about Aiden past life, he used to be a human like most combine soldiers on earth. however, he points out beign unfairly imprisoned by the human society for commiting a crime he hasn't done at all. Murdering his family. He was blamed by this considering the repercussion the case had. Framed by social media as a killer in an attempt for them to opress the authorities to close that case. While he was behind bars things happened in the world, The resonance cascade in black mesa brang the xen visitors and much later, combine menace arrival. They found Aiden who was tring to explain to them he hasn't done this and the Shu'ulathoi welcomed him with open arms to the alliance. Now Renamed as unit 3650 he intends to keep rebels at ease.
Entropy : Zero[]
11 months before G-man deployed Gordon Freeman in city-17, Aiden as a metrocop unit is sent at the outskirts of city-10 to assault a rebel base and aid the rest of civil protection forces in look for "points" that his organization uses to promote soldiers. upon succesfully making it 3650 is seen aboarding a train with destination to city-17 when suddenly the vehicle crashes for unknown reasons but presumably sabotage is one of them. on the way Aiden fights multiple zombies and rebels until he arrives to surface where a warning advise wrote by the administrator of city-10 orders immediate evacuation of all available units to city-17 and escape from the "combine flu" case which involves a germ resident from xen dimension infecting everyone at city-10 truly diminishing the alliance army numbers. this drastically creates a decision of nuking the city for avoiding future outspread.
Regardless of this, it is clear that Aiden's psychotic mind rejects this idea and instead stays to fight. with a new objective he tries to advance in an already conquered city-10 progressing through rebels and other hazards. 3650 meets a prisoner combine who tells him to deactivate the forcefield so he can be free and upon doing so they both go to contact their situation to the empire. when Aiden is about to inform current status he's knocked out by his teammate who is revealed to be barney calhoun already working as a spy. barney delivers 3650 to rebels and they toss him to a hole. not enough to kill Aiden he wakes up severily injured and passes a subterrain zone filled with zombies and headcrabs and eventually escorts a stalker to open various doors reaching the pillar of city-10, similar to the citadel in city-17 but this one has been taken by vortigaunts. on this point the protagonist contracts the combine flu which affects him but doesnt totally stop to complete his objective. after "giving greetings" to a vort and fight a possesed hunter in two instances Aiden finally arrives to the core of the pillar and has a final confrontation with a stronger vortigaunt. when aidan manages to win the core of the pillar 10 becomes unstable and time goes frozen. 3650 regains conciousness in nova prospekt where a shu'ulathoi rewards him with transfering his mind to a combine elite body, thus avoid dying from the combine flu in his older body.
Entropy : Zero 2[]
one week later after Gordon Freeman raided nova prospekt 3650 wakes up now as a overwatch elite soldier being (new host body) held on a capsule and is shortly released to help contain an antlion invasion the first one has started. but before doing so the Shu'ulathoi race informs Wallace Breen is dead and tasks him with a new primary objective. Capture the malignant rebel agent Judith Mossman. With that in mind 3650 proceeds to clean the prison from antlions and achieves it, eventually an aerial vehicle will come to pick him up and travels to another location where mossman is suspected to reside
3650 Reaches the place but it's transportation vehicle is intercepted and taken down by rebel forces, Now Aiden must open path to intercept judith and he can briefly see her at one point but escapes quickly. after a few fights with the rebels 3650 discovers that albeit communications (a facade name) leads to a subterrain laboratory but before beign sent there he meets one of his clones made by the alliance and suggests our protagonist to help him find answers about eva (his wife), Aiden rejects this proposal as this deal intends to betray the combine, a greater plot reveals this is in fact an aperture science facility undercover and now must go through dozens of puzzles and even a gonome chasing him around with no guns to defend himself. on there he knows n. an inteligent and manipulative sentry that convinces Aiden to carry it to the exit of the laboratory. he reluctantly accepts and make it all the way to surface (even though reaching ground with or without Wilson is on player's choice. Aiden canonically does it). shortly after reaching surface, Aiden requests for a vehicle and the combine send one for him to travel pass many different places such as: Rebel Outposts,Abandoned Laboratories,Road Blocks and even a fancy cabin that it must be defended.
Following the mines at long last he ends up at the main battlefield between combine forces and rebels, the resistance kept losing terrain agaisnt the combine and as Aiden advanced, some last rebels were surrounded at a main building where mossman is beign chased directly by unit 3650 and it's squad. only in time Aiden's clone gets in there to localize mossman and try to kill her before the protagonist does manage to catch instead. but when he notices is too late as unit 3650 is inside a room with mossman trying to flee. the clone makes uses of every possible tool to run and kill both of them now but also fails. Mossman is trapped and sent to interrogation while Aiden is somewhat congratulated by the Shu'ulathoi but quickly redirected to a new mission: Neutralize his evil clone. they have a final battle where after a fierce contest, the combine loyal one exits victorious. he finally tracks the wounded clone beign close to death at doors of the borealis but unit 3650 is starting to doubt about the alliance keeping promise to help him with his family and has regrets about killing his clone. only for the Shu'ulathoi to show before him and notify he has completed the mission. but now it demands to erase Aiden's memory so he can never be distrusted again. the player is given 2 choices in this moment with 3 possible outcomes
Ending A: Accept the deal[]
If unit 3650 does nothing and lets the Shu'ulathoi erase his memory he will become like any other combine. a beign with no regrets but losing it's conciousness and combat capacity. the post credits scene show Dog right in front of him and then a gravity gun sound is heard knocking and killing Aiden, implying he was killed by gordon freeman who reached the borealis
Ending B: Refuse the deal[]
In this scenario Aiden's shoots the Shu'ulathoi and begins a battle agaisnt this entity knowing he betrays the combine by doing that. after a final confrontation with Aiden winning again he makes it to the borealis ship finally and is abducted by a portal made by the own G-man, which is looking forward to award 3650 with a prize for helping him buy time indirectly without he knowing. Aiden asks G-man to revive his daughter but is then negated because that's out of his reach. then G-man suggests if he wishes for the alliance to stop creating clones of him, ending the loop which Aiden nods and is sent to a chamber where the combine store all the hosts for this feature. he destroys it and ends up on an old room seen in the intro of the game. G-man is about to end his speech but then he looks somewhere else worried and goes away implying gordon arrived at the borealis (maybe).
Post-Credits scene[]
Aiden is somehow trapped by the combine and used as a test subject for them. now whatever happens next depends if Wilson was carried for the whole game or not because he comes to rescue you at the last moment if he did it. otherwise nothing will happen
Trivia[]
- As said above, Aiden is very well aware of cultural references which he does every often and so
- At the Shu'ulathoi fight the Vortigaunts don't see Aiden as enemy anymore if they are summoned by a xen grenade because they have the same objective now.
