Airachnid is the secondary antagonist of the 2024 animated film, Transformers One. She is Sentinel Prime's assistant and primary enforcer.
She was voiced by Vanessa Liguori.
Personality[]
Airachnid is a violent enforcer who is only concerned with maintaining Sentinel's corrupt rule over Iacon City. She will punish those who try to step out of line too far when ordered to and never leaves Sentinel's side unless she is dispatched to kill. She is more than happy to outright kill anyone who gets in her way once she is let loose. She also appears to have no sense of humor in a rather awkward position, forcing herself to laugh with Sentinel during his conversation with Orion and D-16 when the latter feared of demotion.
Despite it all, she appears to be somewhat loyal towards Sentinel and doesn't retreat once the miner cavalry arrive to fight off the Death Trackers, she even specifically orders the soldiers to prioritize protecting Sentinel from the four heroes.
Biography[]
Airachnid has served as Sentinel Prime's right-hand enforcer throughout the last 50 cycles, being a part of the conspiracy in ties with the Quintessons ruling Cybertron from the shadows.
After the Iacon 5000 race finished, Airachnid is first seen entering the room where Orion Pax and D-16 were recovering, scanning them cautiously and fiercely to clear any threatening features for Sentinel to enter the room and talk to them about the race. Once Sentinel started cracking up laughing at the duo being worried they might get demoted, Airachnid found herself awkwardly but barely even laughing along with it despite seemingly not getting it. Once Sentinel offered them the opportunity to become spokespeople to inspire the cogless Cybertronians, Airachnid informs him of their leave to yet another "mission" before she was ordered by Sentinel to escort the duo into his "personal service facilities", unaware it was to drop them off sub-level 50 by Darkwing and gave out the announcement that they died in the Iacon 5000.
Later seen arriving at the coordinated sighting where the Quintessons arrived, Airachnid can be seen bowing alongside Sentinel right from behind the rest of his troopers before the Quintesson High Commander, offering the latest batch of Energon. She then ordered to keep her eyes open for any potential witnesses nearby, to which it was when Sentinel pleaded to be offered more time with the mining regime, Airachnid spotted Orion, D-16, B-127, and Elita-1 nearby, much to her annoyance. It was after the Quintessons left, Airachnid deployed an ambush in the caverns, sending in troopers to open fire with Alpha Trion staying behind to give Orion, D, and the rest time to escape. Though Alpha Trion had the upper-hand on taking care of the attackers in sight, Airachnid ambushed him from above and viciously begins beating him down with her spider-like legs in an adrenaline rush.
Managing to bring him back to Sentinel's tower, Airachnid would sadistically watch her master personally execute Alpha Trion firsthand out of annoyance with the elder Prime's speeches until she is then ordered to go after Orion and the rest to avoid any certain interference. Locating Orion and the others when they were captured by the High Guard and their base, Airachnid leads the troops into bombarding the whole area and begin massacring half of the High Guard, to which she has few of her troops capture the other half - alongside D-16 and B-127 - to bring back to Sentinel to perform a mass execution, leaving Orion, Elita-1, Shockwave, Soundwave, and whoever remained for dead. Returning with the captives, Airachnid boasts how easily tracking and catching Orion and the others' presence led her to finding the High Guard and would stand by on witnessing her master torment D-16 before proceeding to torturously mark him with a scrambled icon of Megatronus Prime after handing him an iron tool.
However, Airachnid would be alerted on an upcoming attack by the arrival of Elita-1 and the rest, ordering the troopers to keep guard on Sentinel while she deals with the incoming train with a following dozen troopers. Airachnid would then ambush and attack Orion Pax when he and the rest of the miners arrived for backup, furiously pummeling him with her spider-like legs until Orion punched her back, then she proceeds to held him down onto the rig's front ride, taunting him that she sees everything and revealing her multiple eyes behind her head all over. It wasn't until the train crashed right into the tower, leaving Airachnid to be tossed aside.
Figuring out that Airachnid's unique ability and her memories are the answer to expose Sentinel's crimes, the former ends up catching Elita-1 onto her hands and outside the tower, pummeling her in a furious rush to being thrashed onto a building until Elita-1 got the upper-hand and break one of her spider-legs, bashing her in the head with it. As soon as the trio infiltrated the broadcast station, Airachnid finds herself forced down onto a table and her memory ability began playing all of Sentinel's crimes and treason to Cybertronian kind, leading to all Cybertronians to turn against him. However, it wasn't after Sentinel was publicly torn apart by a vengeful D-16, now christened as Megatron, and the rise of the Decepticons.
It is unknown what became of Airachnid afterwards, though it is assumed she is imprisoned for her crimes and accompliceship with Sentinel and the Quintessons.
