Aislinn is a minor antagonist from Heroes of Might and Magic III and Heroes of Might and Magic IV, The Price of Peace campaign. She was a vampire lich, an active leader of the undead.
Biography[]
Heroes of Might and Magic III[]
Aislinn was a lich woman who had a special connection to the earth, some saying she was constantly draining life force out of the ground and she was a commander of the undead armires of Deyja. First a druid, Gem fought against her. The druid had to find a barbarian, Terek, who owned an artifact, the Vampire's Cowl and she had to give to a warlock named Sandro. Gem found a village 11 days later that had been completely harvested by Aislinn and a death knight, Tamika. The children were killed because they were too weak to be undead, but the parents were all turned into skeletons. The two evil undead leaders killed almost a thousand peasants in the area after the harvest, who were also resurrected as new soldiers in the undead armies. Eight days later, a vampire scout reported to them about the intruders, and the two villains gathered an army to attack Gem and his companion, Clancy. But Aislinn and Tamika were defeated, they retreated to Dejya, but lost their army and two castles. Aislinn later returned when she and an undead death knight, Isra, attacked the northern area of the Contested Lands and the northern area of Erathia. Much of the area was corrupted, erathian castles were destroyed and necromantic castles were built in their place. A part of the population was killed, those who joined to them were taken to the skeleton transformer, where they followed the orders of the two liches as undead. Ultimately, this great destruction was stopped by a half-human, half-genie barbarian warrior named Yog, who defeated the undead, liberated the area, and destroyed the necromancer castles. The two lichs retreated, but Aislinn didn't wait long. She later reappeared when he and Galthran, a vampire warlord, wanted to attack the western part of Avlee. The area was guarded by a talented half-human, half-Vori elf warrior, Gelu, whose scouts informed him that Aislinn and Galthran had used the skeleton transformers here as well, meaning that many victims were killed again, but the number here is unknown. The elves eventually successfully recaptured the castles occupied by the undead and defeated the enemy, but the two leaders retreated. Aislinn then retreated to Deyja, where she, her former ally Tamika, and a lich, Nagash, sought to usurp the throne together. Their enemies were, Sandro, Finneas Vilmar and Duke Alarice. Initially, most of the important territories belonged to the three lichs, but eventually Sandro defeated them, killed Alarice, and Finneas became the new king of Deyja. Aislinn, Nagash and Tamika accepted their new king, but the lich woman did not have a more important role later on.
Heroes of Might and Magic IV[]
Aislinn survived the Reckoning and also appeared in the Price of the Peace campaign as a minor antagonist. She was the minion of a lich king, the Old King Dreggar and a commander of one of his castles. It was the mission of Solmyr, a loyal servant of the immortal king, Gavin Magnus, to obtain the Rainbow Crystal, which was guarded by the undead of the Old King Dreggar and Aislinn. However, the genie defeated them both, Dreggar was destroyed and Aislinn was imprisoned.
Personality[]
What is certain is that, like the most evil leaders of the undead, Aislinn was a cruel, bloodthirsty, destructive, merciless mass murderer. Even though he wasn't the most active lich, he took a lot of victims, thousands died and turned undead because of him. It's possible that he wasn't completely insensitive, as he was often an ally of Tamika, so it's possible that there was some sort of friendship between them, but this is unsubstantiated.
