Ajax is a minor antagonist in the AMC series Into the Badlands.
He is a violent Colt who is training to become a Clipper in the Armadillo Territory. He acts extremely violent towards other Colts such as M.K. or Bale in the hopes of impressing the Clippers and being taken on by one of them as their personal Colt to train.
He was portrayed by Shane Graham.
Personality[]
Ajax is shown to be extremely violent at all times, either sparring with other Colts or attacking ones that are smaller and less physically capable than he is. After being embarrassed by M.K. in front of Sunny, Ajax shows that he is very vindictive, attacking M.K. in private to get revenge on him.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Ajax's life before becoming a Colt, but it is safe to assume he was originally a Cog who was given the chance to train as a clipper like the other boys who are put in the Colt pits. Bale explains that Ajax will attack anyone he thinks is weaker than him in hopes of getting recognition from the Clippers. Ajax is present at Baron Quinn's speech to the new group of Colts. When M.K. becomes a Colt, Ajax takes a break from sparring in order to target him and steals his necklace, prompting the two of them to fight until they are broken up by Sunny, who confiscates the necklace. Sunny also chastises both Ajax and M.K., which makes Ajax extremely angry at M.K., believing that he embarrassed him in front of the Regent, the most respected Clipper in the entire territory. Later that night, Ajax attacks M.K. in the Colt barracks when they are alone. During their fight, Ajax cuts M.K.'s skin, which causes M.K.'s Gift to activate, revealing he is a Dark One. M.K. then completely overpowers Ajax and throws him into a nearby mirror. M.K. catches one of the shards of glass that flies out of the mirror, and throws it back into Ajax's eye with supernatural precision, destroying it. Sunny witnesses this and takes M.K. away to question him. Ajax appears to survive this incident, but it is unknown what happened to him after this.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Martial Arts: Ajax was shown to be one of the most dangerous and skilled Colts in the Colt pits, only being defeated after M.K. activated his Gift.
Trivia[]
- Ajax being present at the introduction of the new Colts suggests that he is just becoming one at the same time as M.K. and Bale. Considering Bale is already familiar with Ajax's violent personality and motivation to get noticed by the Clippers, it is likely the two had some sort of history with one another prior to being in the Colt pits.
