Francis Fanny, aka Ajax and later known as Abyss Man, is one of the main antagonists of the comics of Deadpool, being one of the responsibles of the pain and torture that Wade received in Weapon X, while also being his most personal villain.
History[]
Francis started as an assistant for Dr. Killebrew, having super-powers that got him to be the muscle for the operation of the Doctor, while also having a device in his body, that allowed Killebrew to stop him from going too far or going against him. While working for the doctor, Francis mistreated all the people that failed the Weapon X program, ocassionally physically abusing the people there just to feel superior, while also getting the hopes that they had down.
Getting to meet Wade Wilson, Francis abused him multiple times, getting him to be experimentated by the the Doctor while taunting him all the time. At one moment, Wade got to know about Francis's name, knowing that he felt inferior by it, Wade mocked his name multiple times, in an effort to get Francis to finally end his life, which in a way worked, as Francis decided to torture him even more. Knowing that he couldn't kill Wade, as Killebrew wanted him alive, Francis decided that he will make suffer another person instead, going against Wade's friend, in specific a guy there named Worm, who he decided to lobotomize just to hurt Wade, leaving Worm in a vegetive state, which force Wade to mercy kill his friend. Thanks to this, Francis got Wade to be executed by Killebrew, but thanks to his will to live to avenge his friend, Wade got to obtain his regenerative abilities, saving himself and attacking Francis, supposedly killing him after shooting him multiple times.
Coming back years later, now with the alias of Ajax and with a powerful metallic suit, he started to search for Wade, who now was known as Deadpool, while also killing all the other inmates of the Weapon X. Getting to where, the now redeemed, Killebrew, torturing him just to get the ubication of Deadpool, which got Ajax to kill him for a while, after pushing him over a cliff.
Going to kill Killebrew after supposedly obtaining his revenge, Ajax got to know that Deadpool survived their lastest encounter, going to kill him to where he hided. Fighting him and showing his power over the mercenary, Ajax ends up killing Killebrew after he got to burn his face and destroyed his helmet. Deadpool ends up making a trap just to kill him, succesfully tricking Ajax into falling on it, with Deadpool getting to finally kill Ajax by drowning him in the lake.
Coming back from hell to obtain his revenge, Ajax, now known as Abyss Man, tried to kill Deadpool, only to be easily overpowered by Thanos, and then used by both of them to go against Mephisto to save Death.
