Ajax is a member of The Warriors and one of the main protagonists of the 1979 cult classic film The Warriors.
He is portrayed by James Remar, who also played Albert Ganz in 48 Hrs., Beauty Smith in Disney's White Fang, Butch Pooch in Django Unchained, Vilgax in Ben 10 and Quill in The Phantom.
Biography[]
Ajax was one of the nine Warriors who went to attend the meeting between the one hundred gangs of New York alongside Cleon, Swan, Cochise, Cowboy, Fox, Rembrandt, Snow and Vermin. After Cyrus was shot and the Warriors were blamed for his shooting, Ajax fled with the other Warriors as the police arrived to bust up the meeting and the other gangs attempted to kill them to avenge Cyrus' death.
The Warriors all rendezvoused in a graveyard and discovered their leader Cleon hadn't made it. Swan, the second-in-command of the gang, then stepped up to become the new leader but Ajax objected and tried to assert himself as leader, saying he had just as much right to as Swan. However, after the other members of the gang supported Swan's claim to leadership, Ajax withdrew his claim to leadership and went along with the others.
After Ajax, Swan, Snow and Cowboy became separated from Cochise, Rembrandt and Vermin, the four came across a woman sitting on a park bench in the middle of the night. Ajax wanted to stay behind and rape her, but the other three told him it was a stupid idea and that they should focus on getting home. However, Ajax stayed behind anyway while the other three headed back to Coney Island. After going up to the woman and persuading her to have sex with him, Ajax sat down on the park bench and forced himself on her. The woman told Ajax to stop as he was being too rough but Ajax refused and said that was the way he liked it. However, the woman then handcuffed Ajax to a park bench and revealed herself to be a cop undercover before whistling for the other police officers to show up and take him into custody. Snow and Cowboy went back to check on Ajax only to find they were too late and he was already being arrested before running off to rejoin the others.
