Ajur is one of the two main antagonists of the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Captain's Holiday", along with Boratus.
She was portrayed by the late Karen Landry.
Biography[]
Ajur was a Vorgon from the 27th century. She and her partner Boratus travelled back to Risa in the 24th century in search of Captain Picard. When they arrived, they found no record of Picard being at the resort or being scheduled to arrive, but Ajur was confident he would be there.
Sure enough, Picard soon arrived as a last minute booking. Ajur and Boratus surprised him in his room and explained who they were. Ajur explained that they were there for the Tox Uthat, a legendary weapon capable of destroying stars that had been hidden there by a visitor from the future. Boratus explained that the weapon had been brought there by its creator after criminals tried to steal it and claimed they were a security detail sent to retrieve it. Ajur told Picard they had found a record of him discovering a device which could be the Tox Uthat. Picard insisted he hadn't but agreed to hand it over to them if he did.
Ajur and Boratus reappeared when Picard and rogue archaeologist Vash were being forced to dig for the Tox Uthat by the Ferengi criminal Sovak. Picard eventually ascertained there was nothing where they were digging and all parties left the scene, confused. Later, that night, Picard deduced that Vash had in fact already retrieved the Tox Uthat. Ajur and Boratus arrived on the scene and tried to take possession of it, but Vash realised from her research that the pair were the criminals that the weapon had been hidden from in the first place. Picard signalled the Enterprise in orbit and the ship used its transporter beam to dematerialise and scramble the Tox Uthat, destroying it. He told the two Vorgons to return to their own time, since there was nothing for them there. Ajur admitted he had fulfilled his destiny all too well.
