You're a disgrace to this family do you know that? Why can't you be more like your brother?
~ Akihito scolding Senzai.

Akihito Uchiumi is a major antagonist in the 2021 Roblox horror game, The Mimic. He is a major character in Jealousy's Book, being the father of Isamy and Senzai Uchiumi, and being the husband to the late Tamae Uchiumi. He is also one of Senzai's reasons to join the Kiiroibara Cult and part of the reason Senzai became evil in the first place. A mimic of him appears in Jealousy: Chapter III, it is unknown if the real Akihito is alive or not.

Biography[]

Early life[]

At some point in his life Akihito married Tamae Uchiumi, eventually having their first child, Senzai Uchiumi. Two years later they had their second child, Isamu Uchiumi. However, Tamae would tragically pass away, with it being implied this resulted in Akihito falling into alcoholism.

The Letter Incident[]

When Senzai was 18, he received a letter from Musahino Art University. Isamu suggested Senzai show the letter to their father, and though apprehensive the latter eventually decided to do so at dinner. However, when Akihito saw the letter, he grew furious and tore it in two. He approached Senzai, causing him to look to his brother for help, but Isamu was terrified and pointed towards his elder brother, much to Senzai's horror. Their father grabbed a wine bottle and broke it over Senzai's head, leaving him bleeding. As Senzai sat in his room, Isamu watched him, unnerved by the incident. Akihito placed his hand on his shoulder, reassuring him, while Senzai is filled with envy and animosity towards his living family.

Jealousy's Book[]

Jealousy: Chapter III[]

Uchiumi residence[]

After the torment ship, Enzukai forces Isamu into a nightmare of his own childhood home, here Isamu (in Senzai's body) has to clean the house and do chores before (a mimic of) Akihito comes home at 6pm, he also has to maintain his sanity by either doing chores or praying. When Akihito comes home, he will check the bedrooms, forcing Senzai to control is heartbeat otherwise Akihito will realise he is not sleeping and kill him. After the first night, Senzai does these 2 nights more and after the third night a cutscene plays. In this cutscene, Akihito is shown scolding Senzai and calling him a disgrace, telling him to be more like Isamu. Despite Senzai's many apologies, Akihito drags Senzai to another room in the house, likely to beat him.

Appearance[]

Human[]

Akihito is shown to be a tall man with short black hair, a blue buttoned up shirt and black glasses. He has a stern, tired face and pale skin.

Monster[]

As a monster, Akihito is a tall, lanky man with a dirty white button up shirt, pitch black eyes with a pair of glasses covering the darkness in them and slender, bony arms with sharp nails covered in black goo. His mouth is filled with more black goo and in his jump scare it can be seen that there are tentacles hidden inside his mouth, likely used for suffocation.

Personality[]

Akihito is shown to be a stern and strict father, he is also portrayed as an aggressive and abusive man who gets furious when something is not good enough for him. He seems to be feared by both of his sons but still, he favours Isamu over Senzai, after the letter incident he reassures Isamu and does not seem to care about Senzai crying in his room. It is also confirmed he is an alcoholic; it is not yet confirmed if this is due to his wife's death. It also isn't known if he acted differently prior to Tamae's death.

Relationships[]

Tamae Uchiumi[]

Tamae is Akihito's late wife, due to her being deceased, it is unknown whether or not their relationship was positive.

Senzai Uchiumi[]

Senzai is Akihito's oldest son, despite this, Akihito acts aggressive towards Senzai, get furious at him going to an art university and beating him with a wine bottle. He doesn't seem to approve of Senzai's goals as an artist and even rips up Senzai's acceptance letter. It is unknown if he acted differently towards Senzai before Tamae's death.

Isamu Uchiumi[]

Isamu is Akihito's youngest son, he is shown to favor Isamu, saying Senzai should be more like Isamu whilst yelling at him, despite this, Isamu still seems to fear his father and does not seem to feel entirely comforted when around him. It is unknown if Akihito knows about Isamu's death, or if he was attempting to contact Isamu whilst he (Isamu) was travelling to Aogashima Island, or if he was even alive at this point in time.

Trivia[]

  • The kanji in the name Akihito (明人) means "bright man" (despite being the opposite of what he is) and the kanji in the surname Uchiumi (内海) means "inside the ocean" likely a reference to his two sons being linked to Aogashima island.
  • He is the third parent of the protagonist to be a hostile monster, the first being Daku and the second being Keiko.
  • His voice actor also voices Senzai Uchiumi and Shinigami.
  • His status is unknown.
  • It is most likely that the version of him seen in Jigoku is purely a mimic of Akihito, and not the real man.
