Biography[]
Heroes of Might and Magic: A Strategic Quest[]
The rivalry first broke out for possession of a small village called Getaway, where Morglin won. Subsequently, the target was the Archipelago of the Ancients, where serious forces were deployed from each of them, especially Alamar. However, Morglin and his followers were stronger again and gained the archipelago, defeating the others, Alamar suffered a serious defeat. Then a maelstrom of combat plagues the land of Enroth which caused a lot of damage especially in a certain area. Only a certain relic could help the victims, the Eye of Goros able to heal the wounded land. The four factions immediately began searching for the relic and meanwhile became embroiled in battles against each other. Alamar and Lord Slayer didn't really mobilize much force here, however, Lamanda and Morglin did everything they could to find the relic. The location of the buried relic was indicated by oracles and was eventually found by Morglin.
After that, however, Morglin's rule was strengthened too much, and therefore the other three factions now took the threat seriously and deployed several more serious forces. There were ongoing battles of varying success and all four sides suffered losses, but in the end, Morglin triumphed again. Alamar, Slayer, and Lamanda withdrew with all their remaining forces, but all three began to weaken permanently. It was then that Morglin decided that he would defeat his enemies one by one and achieve the final victory by occupying their strongest castles. He first wanted to settle with Slayer, whose castle was in the Trackless Desert, lies the Frozen Wastes. It took Morglin's long time to cross the desert, Slayer tried to weaken his opponent with counterattacks, but eventually the knight's armies broke into the territories of the barbarians and occupied the castles. Slayer was defeated once and for all, his remaining followers scattered. Morglin then led his armies against Queen Lamanda, but her castle was far away, on a large island in the northwest. It took a long time, but eventually the Queen's castle fell. After that, only his main enemy, Alamar remained, who, however, dealt a preemptive blow to him and besieged the strongest castle of the knights, Castle Morglin.
However, the siege failed and Morglin decided to launch an attack with his remaining forces. Unlike the others, Alamar did not take the threat seriously and he was too overconfident, believing his opponent had no chance of approaching his castle. The warlock’s castle was in a volcanic area with only a huge maze leading to its gate. However, following the direction of the constantly attacking gargoyles, the forces of the knights found the right path. Morglin's forces besieged and occupied the castle, Alamar fled. However, the warlock did not give up, but made an alliance with Slayer and Lamanda, and three of them gathered all their last possible strengths to defeat the common enemy once and for all. Morglin, on the other hand, decided to occupy the Dragon Citadel because he believed that if the dragons stood on his side it would permanently break the fighting spirit of his enemies. Both side used every possible force and army, every final reserve, but Morglin won once and for all, with the occupation of the citadel the dragons stood on his side. Alamar suffered his final defeat to be the lord of the world of Enroth. He went to Morglin's coronation and speech with the other rivals, but refused to cooperate with him and fled after the ceremony and was not seen for long.
Heroes of Might and Magic II[]
For 25 years, almost no one found Alamar. But he later showed up as an ally and supporter of Morglin's evil son, Archibald Ironfist. After the king and his three royal seers died of "tragic accidents," Alamar, along with the necromancers, helped Archibald to gain power and he became the king. However, Morglin's other son, Roland, led a rebellion. In the war of the two brothers, Alamar had no important role, but rather a secondary role.
Heroes of Might and Magic III[]
After Archibald's defeat, Alamar fled again, this time to Nighon, where he joined the overlords and warlocks. After the death of King Nicolas Gryphonheart, several attacks were launched against Erathia. Nighon and Eeofol formed an alliance and successfully broke into the territory of the kingdom. The worst blow was the fall of the capital, where the legendary commander, General Kendal, suffered a heavy defeat. However, Nicolas' daughter, Catherine, gathered an army to take back the capital. The forces of Nighon and Eeofol were set up for defense. The overlords organized the defense and included Alamar. Nighon's forces were ready to attack in castles and garrisons built underground. Alamar and the overlords were defeated and retired. After that, Alamar was imprisoned, probably on Ordwald's order, and he was thoroughly locked in a place deep in thecave systems of Nighon, that could almost only be reached by ship. However, the power-hungry Mutare freed him and in return he helped her kill her enemies, Ordwald, and take the power and throne of Nighon. After the Reckoning, Alamar didn't show up in world of Axeoth, so it's likely he didn't survive.
Personality[]
Based on Morglin's opinions, Alamar was a highly respected, powerful, yet overconfident person. He was almost always on the losing side, yet Morglin was the only person who respected him very deeply. However, he never wanted to join Morglin or his heirs. He fought against them all along, except Archibald.
Powers and abilities[]
Alamar was one of the strongest warlocks, although he always returned in a weaker state after his disappearances, but he was able to quickly his power. He was able to use the most powerful spells in magic and since he was also a scholar, he was able to give some of his spells to others who had magical powers. What made him special, however, was that Alamar was one of those rare individuals who could actually resurrect and bring people and creatures back to life.
