~ Alan's introduction to the students of Titan Academy.

Mr. Alan is the main antagonist of the Singaporean web series Titan Academy.

He serves as the main antagonist of Season 4, an overarching antagonist in Seasons 5 and 6 and the main antagonist of Season 7. He also appears as an overarching antagonist in the spin-off series Night School.

He is a high-ranking member of a Singaporean corporation named 'The Organization' who becomes the head of Titan Academy after the school was sold to The Organization. In an attempt to restore the school's reputation, Alan is responsible for enacting a series of unreasonable reforms to the system, which makes him heavily unpopular with the students. Ultimately, his control over Titan Academy is just a small part of his true goal of making as much money for The Organization as possible, even if it means eradicating all opposition to his rule.

Biography[]

Season 4[]

Alan and his coworker, Regna, first make their appearance in "Welcome to Titan Academy", where he strikes a formal deal with the principal, Miss Siti, that his organization will help fund the bankrupt academy, but that they will be able to implement new changes, such as expelling students that fail their classes as well as cutting recess time much shorter. Miss Siti at first protests against how unreasonable the new changes are, but after realizing that the Academy will be shut down if she doesn't get financial help soon, she reluctantly signs the contract, and Alan assures Miss Siti that he has the student's best interest at heart. However, a teacher named Miss Sherly sees through this and calls Alan out before deciding to resign, but later on Miss Sherly decides to stay in the hopes that she could protect the students, so convinces Alan to let her stay because she knows that the students will not just give in to Alan right away, so Alan realizes this and lets Miss Sherly stay, but makes her increase the workload for the students. He then leaves the school with Regna at the end of the episode.

Alan isn't seen again until he makes his first appearance in front of the students of Class T1T5 and N4T1 at the end of the episode, "19 Types of Students in the School Lunch". He tells the students about new disciplinary measures that he will add, such as new uniforms, lunch being cut from 45 to 15 minutes, and extracurricular activities being required for students. After Regna forces the students to clean up the mess, he finds a student named Cleverly who is working on a game called Class Rush. Impressed, Alan decides to call Cleverly into their office, saying that he is happy to see a student showing their full potential.

In the next episode, "Students Get Into Big Trouble During Detention," Cleverly is seen in Alan's office, explaining to him and Regna how his game works. They encourage Cleverly to release the game as soon as possible, with Regna even offering to excuse Cleverly from his homework, and Cleverly leaves. Alan and Regna happen to end up walking into a room that several students, including the main protagonist Jianhao, are cleaning, and end up eavesdropping on Alan's plans and find out about his true nature. Alan tells Regna about his plan to implement a school wide exam, saying that he will expel all of the students that fail, and also monetize Cleverly's game. Regna at first expresses concern, asking that it might affect the students, but Alan openly tells her that he doesn't care for the students at all and just sees them as pawns to make money. Unfortunately, Diana ends up hitting her head on the table on accident, but Cleverly stands up and tells Alan that it was him and he refuses to be a part of the organization's plan. Regna drags Cleverly away, while Alan tells him that his punishment will be much more permanent. In the following episode, Alan proved to be as bad as his word, and he decides to make an example of Cleverly at the end in front of all the students. He and Regna shave Cleverly's head despite the latter's protests, with Alan sadistically laughing at Cleverly's misery. He promptly expels Cleverly, warning the other students to not meddle with the Organization's affairs, and that he just wants to help.

The exams/purge Alan organises soon takes place, which ends up wiping out nearly all of N4-T1 (save for Diana) and half of T1-T5. Alan isn't seen again in a long time until Jianhao, Vincent, Sunny, Kevin, Chloe, and Diana all agree to raid Alan's office to take the exam papers in his vault, as well as write all of the expelled student's names back on the roster so that the Organization will be forced to put everyone back to their original classes because all the evidence was destroyed. The group expresses their hatred towards Alan, and Kevin even calls him a "monster in a suit and tie." The students pull the heist off successfully, so Alan and Regna are forced to put the students back.

Regna admits to Alan that maybe all of their antagonizing actions towards the students weren't worth it, if they could come up with such a plan, even suggesting that maybe they should properly guide the students rather than use them as money making tools. Alan demands to know if Regna is getting attached to the students, which Regna denies. Alan then says that it doens't matter, and tells Regna about his new plan of letting new students into the Academy. Alan already has a spy student named "Teverly," that he used to spy on Class N4T1 for information. Teverly comes into the room, handing Alan papers with Diana, Denise, Madeline, and at least one more student's names and pictures on them, with Alan saying that he will begin by investigating Diana first before laughing.

Season 5[]

Alan and his Organisation are still in control of Titan Academy, even though Alan himself makes less onscreen appearances. After the Vincent and JianHao inadvertently start a fire in science class, both are called to Mr Alan’s office and are punished with having to take part in teaching the upcoming Night School program.

Season 6[]

In the Night School series, Alan appears to judge all the students in their final presentation. After all groups present, Alan and Regna pass all of them. After that, Miss Sherly asks the two if she can get a raise. But Alan tells her that wasn’t part of their deal and walks away, leaving Miss Sherly upset.

Alan soon brings and exam for both T1-T5 and N4-T1, with this time being that students who failed will be held back a year. After T1-T5’s exams (which everyone passed), Alan and Regna walk in to congratulate them, but hear on Ren Yi Xiang bad-mouthing them. As such, Alan announces to the class that instead of having Christmas or the World Cup, they instead will have to participate in school competitions and the SATs soon. The class freak out and blame Ren Yi Xiang for causing the trouble.

After Teverly steals and reads Sunny’s diary during swimming class, Sunny is dragged into Alan’s office to be interrogated or face punishment by haircut. Alan offers to make it easier — Sunny only has to give out the name of the heist’s leader. Sunny gives in, saying it was JianHao. Mr Alan, satisfied with Sunny’s cooperation, lets Sunny go and tells Regna that they will announce this on the next assembly.

Season 7[]

Alan and Regna appear again after Ren Yi Xiang sings the new Titan Academy anthem. He tells the students of rumours of the heist, and reveals that he knows the mastermind behind it: JianHao. He calls JianHao up onto the stage and demands for the latter to point out the other students. JianHao refuses, and Alan begins to shave JianHao’s hair off, much to the shock of everyone. But then Denise stops Alan, lying to the Organisation that she also took part in the heist. And that if they punish him, they have to punish her as well. Alan is about to do it, when Regna tells him that expelling Denise would be detrimental as Titan Academy’s reputation lies in her hands. Alan then lets both Denise and JianHao go, and JianHao goes back to his seat.

The Organisation introduces another member: Mr James, much to the shock of James’ daughter Vicky and ex-wife Madam Soot Beng. James introduces himself, and the new policies and events for Titan Academy. After that, Mrs Regna dismisses the students.

After the assembly, Mr Alan takes Teverly to a private area and chides him for his incompetence. Teverly responds that he didn’t expect Denise to stop them.

Appearance[]

Alan is a middle-aged Asian man that wears a black suit, belt, shoes, and a white tuxedo, as well as a white and dark-blue striped tie.

Personality[]

Alan at first seems to be a very formal, polite person, even assuring Miss Siti that he cares about her students and always has their best interests at heart. However, this is all just a facade to hide his true uncaring personality. Alan is in fact a greedy unethical businessman that wants to use the students to make more money, as well as exploiting their talents to monetize them. He openly tells his coworker, Regna, that they are mere pawns in their plan, and is also a social darwinist as he thinks that students who get inadequate grades aren't worth helping or spending resources on, and came up with the idea of expelling all students who failed their annual examinations despite such a move being detrimental to their futures. As a result, Alan is hated by most of the student body, with many of them plotting behind his back, with even Regna sometimes thinking that Alan is going too far in disciplining the students. Alan is also a very sadistic person, as he takes delight in shaving off Cleverly's head in front of everyone, despite this being considered child abuse (and therefore illegal) in Singapore.
