Alan Manikova is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Darius Blank) of the 2025 science fiction dark comedy film Mickey 17. He was one of the lead researchers in cloning technology who infamously caused the stigma of “multiples.”
He was played by Edward Davis.
Biography[]
Alan Manikova was one of the lead researchers within Cloning Technology, a controversial action due to both ethical and religious implications, being present for the ethical committee. However, Manikova is described as a psychopath who enjoyed murdering homeless individuals in his spare time, and uses his technology as a way to continue.
Cloning himself, Alan has his clone at end charity events during the Prime’s murders so that he can make an alibi, and even when the police comes and arrest both him and the clone, a third clone, Alan C, is revealed to have been made to continue the crimes, slaughtering a homeless person in the rain before being apprehended.
Due to the crimes of Alan and his clones, the idea of “Multiples” were considered feared and immoral, officially being banned and enacted that any multiples will be executed and deleted permanently, a fate that presumably is what happened to Manikova and his clones.
