Alan Raimy is the main antagonist of the thriller 52 Pick-Up. A porn director and convicted rapist, Raimy constructed an elaborate blackmail scheme against construction magnate Harry Mitchell.
Raimy was portrayed by John Glover, who also played Lionel Luthor and his Earth-2 counterpart in Smallville, Dr. Jason Woodrue in Batman & Robin, Mr. Sivana in Shazam!, Verad Kalon in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Theodore Maddox in Fear the Walking Dead, The Ambassador in The Twilight Zone and voiced The Riddler in Batman: The Animated Series.
History[]
Raimy initially attended college at Northwestern University and majored in business education. However, he became attracted to the adult film industry and became an amateur porn director. Raimy was at some point arrested for two counts of rape, for which he was convicted. Raimy at some point befriended ex-convict Bobby Shy and pimp Leo Franks.
After one of Leo's prostitutes, Cynthia "Cini" Frazier, has an affair with wealthy construction magnate Harry Mitchell, Raimy hatches a blackmail scheme against him. Alan recruits Bobby and Leo to his plan, and films Harry and Cini at several points. Raimy, Leo, and Bobby confront Harry and Raimy demands an exorbitant amount of money in exchange for their silence.
Ordering Harry to deliver him the money at a ballgame, Harry arrives but refuses to pay Raimy's fee. In response, Raimy breaks into Harry's house and steals his gun. When Harry's wife Barbara arrives, he pretends to be an accountant before leaving, convincing her he was simply an admittedly creepy salesman.
Alan lures Cini to a warehouse where he ties her up and tears off her shirt, before shooting her with Harry's gun. Having recorded it, he, Bobby, and Leo kidnap Harry and show him the video. Alan raises the price to $105,000 and claims that he'll frame Harry for Cini's death if he doesn't pay. Unbeknownst to Harry, Alan had dumped Cini's corpse in the river and had no ability to do so.
Harry tracks down Alan, falsely claiming Leo had given his location. Harry takes Alan to his office and reveals that most of his money is tied up in his business, but offers to pay him and his cohorts $52,000. Alan accepts but lies to Bobby and Leo that Harry couldn't pay and orders Bobby to kill Harry at the end of the week.
Bobby goes to kill Harry early, and is captured and informed by Harry that Alan betrayed him. Bobby attacks Alan while he's in the middle of shooting an adult film and interrogates him. Alan admits he had lied, but convinces Bobby to murder Leo and his boyfriend so they won't have to share the money. Bobby complies, and Alan kidnaps Barbara to further blackmail him. Alan drugs Barbara with heroin to keep her compliant, and rapes her while she's incapacitated. Taking her back to the warehouse, Alan invites Bobby and his girlfriend Doreen. When they arrive, Alan coldly murders them both.
Alan then calls Harry and agrees to meet him at a drawbridge for the money. Harry arrives and offers Alan his prized convertible as well, which Alan accepts. However, Alan attempts to murder both Harry and Barbara. Harry talks him out of it, revealing he has a lawyer ready to report Alan to the cops if he doesn't comply. Alan agrees to spare them and lets them take his car, but chucks the keys off the bridge as a final taunt. Alan steps into Harry's car and starts it. Turning on Harry's radio, it plays a pre-recorded message that reveals Harry has planted a bomb inside the car. Raimy attempts to escape, but the doors lock automatically and he is killed when the bomb explodes.
