Alastor is a supporting antagonist in Heroes of Might and Magic V. He was a mindreaver demon lord of Sheogh and the minion of Kha-Beleth.
Biography[]
Heroes V[]
Alastor was one of the earliest active demon lords of Sheogh and Kha-Beleth. Already during the war between the dwarfs and the dark elves, he appeared and made an agreement with Lord Agbeth, who was one of the most important leaders and protectors of the dark elves. They agreed that the dark elf would bring them the Tome of Destruction, in exchange for Alastor to provide demonic soldiers from his captured dwarves or afflicted souls. After Agbeth fulfilled the deal, Alastor also kept his promise, but instead of helping the dark elves in the war, he teleported away. He later took part in the attack on Agrael, where Kha-Beleth tested his strongest servant, but the demon lord was defeated here. He only appeared later, especially during Queen Isabel's war. He took part in the attack on Dunmoor, where both Marbas and Nymus attempted to take the city, but all three were defeated by Isabel Greyhound and Godric Unicorn. However, Alastor did not die, but returned later with a larger army to aid the allies of the demons, the Soulscar Clan. With him were two other important demon leaders, Deleb and Grawl, but all three were defeated by Raelag and Shadya, who was actually a succubus, Biara. After that, no one saw him for a while.
Heroes V: Tribes of the East[]
Alastor was one of the most important demon lords in the later stages of the war, he fought almost all the important heroes. He fought against Kujin, but was defeated and retreated to defend the city of Flammschrein, which city was the hearth of darkness in the Red Church. The leader of the necromancers, Arantir, and his loyal vampire student, Ornella, arrived near the city's territory. The necromancer and the demon lord had fought each other before, in the territory of the Wolf Dutchy, where Alastor had lost a very powerful army. The necromancer encountered a group of paladins whom he accused of being guilty of serving demons. One of them said that it was true, but then made an offer to the necromancer. He said that Alastor had stolen their souls and that if Arantir defeated him and freed the souls, he would follow him as death knights. The demon lord was near a great hole with many pit lords and fought against Arantir, but the demons lost again. He then retreated and organized defense in an underground demon city under Talonguard. However, the armies of the rebels and Elrath's followers arrived, led by Freyda and Duncan. Freyda attacked the demonic city, Alastor fought to the end and was a very tough opponent, but in the end he was finally defeated and banished to Sheogh.
Might & Magic: Heroes Kingdoms[]
After Sareth frees his father, Urgash and the demons, Alastor returns to lead Sheogh's armies again.
