Alastor Emerson is the main antagonist of the Dhar Mann video "Dad Favors 1 Son Over The Others". He is the abusive and overbearing father of Gabriel, Marcus, and Tristan Emerson who attempts to enforce his dreams of becoming the boxing state champion on his sons to compensate him only getting second place when he was in the ring, which eventually leads to Gabe and Tristan's deaths.
He is portrayed by James MacPherson.
Biography[]
At some point in his youth, Alastor became a boxer and won second place in the final tournament.
Years later, he eventually starts a family with his wife Irene and has Gabe, Marcus, and Tristan. To make up for his embarrassment, he harshly trains his sons to pursue his dreams, not caring what they want. Marcus and Gabe become exceptional at boxing, but Tristan wants to play music, of which Alastor disapproves.
When Gabe is on the verge of becoming the state champion, Marcus finds that he is vomiting blood. Gabe refuses to go to the hospital because Alastor would shun him and eventually dies from a ruptured intestine. During the funeral, Alastor bars his wife and sons from crying out of a toxic belief that "Emersons don't cry". When he notices Tristan playing his guitar, he smashes it and Marcus doesn't protest despite his girlfriend Harley's pleas. Alastor forcibly trains Tristan despite him having no boxing experience and when Tristan loses a match, calls him his least favorite son. This comment leads to Tristan overdosing and killing himself for being a "disappointment". At Tristan’s funeral, Alastor tells Marcus that Tristan was “gone because he was soft”, and tells Marcus not to be soft too. Marcus eventually calls out Alastor for causing his two other sons' deaths and how the boxing champion title was his own dream and not the dreams of his two sons.
When Marcus has kids of his own with Harley, one of them states that he would rather draw and play video games, Alastor commands that Marcus force it on him anyways, proving he still has not changed.
Trivia[]
- He is arguably one of the most evilest Dhar Mann villains to so far due to not having remorse for his actions, not crying at Gabe and Tristen's funerals, and even still wishing his own grandchildren to become State Champion.
- James MacPherson plays a similar role as Eric Richardson in the Dhar Mann video "BULLIES Put NEW GIRL In The HOSPITAL" playing an abusive father character. However unlike Alastor, Eric receives comeuppance for child abuse by being arrested in the end.
- He is quite possibly the darkest and most disturbing villain and antagonist in Dhar Mann’s videos while most other villains are merely bullies, thieves and tricksters.
