The Albanians are a criminal organization that plays a minor role in the Grand Theft Auto video game series.
The Albanians are an organization inspired by gangs of Albanian origin or the Albanian mafia, in fact the Albanians are a gang probably of mafia type that is mainly located in the state of Liberty City.
Biography[]
The Albanians in Liberty City are a violent criminal group involved in extortion, smuggling, and contract work for other crime families. Their aggression often leads to conflict, including a feud with Roman and Niko Bellic. After loaning money to Roman, Dardan Petrela and his associates repeatedly attempt to collect, but Niko intervenes, killing Dardan and his men after several confrontations.
The Albanians also ally with the Ancelotti Crime Family, acting as enforcers due to the Ancelottis' lack of manpower. However, Gerald McReary uses Niko to sabotage this alliance, framing the Albanians for attacks on Ancelotti members. This leads to growing tensions and violence between the two groups.
The Albanians later clash with the McReary Family directly, attacking a funeral but failing to harm their targets. They also anger Russian crime boss Kenny Petrovic by smuggling stolen cars without his permission. Petrovic retaliates by ordering the destruction of the Platypus, the ship they use for smuggling.
By the events of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, the Albanians’ influence has significantly diminished, with their territories overtaken by rival gangs, suggesting their operations were severely weakened.
Most probably now the gang have no to little members and its wiped out or almost wiped out playing now a small role in GTA.
