Inspector Albert Fournier is the main antagonist of Hitman: Contracts and a pivotal yet unmentioned antagonist in Hitman: Blood Money. He is the corrupt police chief of Paris who is seeking to kill Agent 47 to boost the interests of The Franchise.
Biography
Albert Fournier, some time before the events of the Curtains Down mission of Hitman: Blood Money, become affiliated with ambassador Richard Delahunt and tenor Alvaro D'Alvade a.k.a. Phillipe Berceuse, who were both involved in a human trafficking ring targeting minors from Eastern Europe. Fournier's role in the crimes is unknown.
Agent 47 was tasked to assassinate the trio in the Paris Opera House, but only successfully assassinated Delahunt and D'Alvade, due to the Fournier's absence, presumbably from advance-knowledge of 47's task. He is not mentioned in the log in Curtains Down, but is mentioned in the log of the final mission Hunter & Hunted in Hitman: Contracts. Some hours afterwards, 47 is critically wounded from a bullet wound caused by one of Fournier's officers, where he returns to his hotel room and hallucinates past missions, including but not limited to two fetishists in Romania and the Five Fathers excluding Pablo Belisario Ochoa. As police arrive, they tape off the area surrounding, put officers into position, and prepare for the raid. Fournier issues a "shoot to kill" order to all officers active.
With some brief assistance from a physician sent by the Agency, and 47 eventually gaining capability to get up and wrap a bandage around the wound, 47 conspires against Fournier. The odds are stacked very high against him as the hotel is surrounded by GIGN; 47 has no choice but to escape and professionally complete his mission. 47 escapes by jumping from his balcony and sneaking through (or skirmishing) through police forces, where he assassinates Fournier, who is holding a megaphone. 47 then escapes to Charles de Gaulle airport, where Diana mentions an unknown organization (eventually revealed to be the Franchise) trying to bring down the Agency.
Trivia
- Many believe the officer in the Curtains Down outro pulling the slide to a 1911 pistol is Fournier. However, this is highly unlikely to be true given the differing uniforms, and how Fournier actually wields a Glock 17.
