Albert Runcorn is a supporting antagonist in the Harry Potter series, appearing in the final story, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
He was portrayed by David O'Hara.
Albert Runcorn was a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Magic after Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters took it over and established Pius Thicknesse as Minister. He was involved with the Muggle-Born Registration Commission, a department concerned with arresting and imprisoning Muggle-born witches and wizards. Runcorn uncovered the Muggle ancestry of one Dirk Cresswell, who was arrested and imprisoned.
In 1997, Harry Potter infiltrated the Ministry by knocking Runcorn unconscious and stealing a sample of his hair, which he used to brew a Polyjuice Potion and pose as Runcorn. This resulted in several encounters, including one man showing fear of Runcorn and somebody discussing Cresswell's arrest with him.
At the trial of a suspected Muggle-born named Mary Cattermole, held by Inquisitor Dolores Umbridge, Harry attacked members of the Ministry and helped Muggle-born prisoners to escape, including Cattermole. It is unknown if Runcorn was blamed for this.
After Voldemort and the Death Eaters were defeated, it is likely that Runcorn was imprisoned for his crimes along with Umbridge.
