Albert Sparma is the main antagonist of the 2021 neo-noir film The Little Things. Sparma is a repairman and the prime suspect of a serial killer case involving stabbed women and girls involved in sex work.
He is portrayed by Jared Leto, who also portrayed the Joker in the DC Animated Universe, Angel Face in Fight Club, Harry Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream, and Niander Wallace, Jr. in Blade Runner 2049.
Biography[]
Sparma was in the vicinity of all the locations where women and girls were being murdered across California, Joe Deacon nearly losing his career and mostly losing his life from never catching the killer. Tina Salvatore is followed on a highway by the killer, but she narrowly escapes. Jimmy Baxter is assigned to investigate the later murder of Paige Callahan and disappearance of Ronda Rathbun. Tamara Ewing later washes up dead under a bridge, and Sparma is geographically profiled as a suspect. He falsely confessed to murder once before, and despite his similar fingerprints, he evades surveillance, is seen in the station before witnesses can identify him, and even infuriates the police, so he can't held. When Deke and Baxter break into his home for evidence, Sparma interrupts by calling an "officer down" to taunt them and make then flee. Baxter kidnaps Sparma and demands Ronda's location. Sparma takes him to a desert and, after making him dig holes in the sand, says he lied about being guilty. Sparma harasses Baxter enough for Baxter to kill him with the shovel before Baxter keeps digging out of believing he's guilty. Deke destroys the evidence, helps bury Sparma, and makes Baxter swear to let go what will crush him. Deke then sends Baxter a barrette like Ronda's to make him believe they had Sparma or also to taunt him.
