Dr. Albert Wily is a major antagonist in the Mega Man: Fully Charged comic book series, a continuation of the television series of the same name.

Unlike the mainstream version of the character, Wily doesn't want to rule the world, but rather he wants robots to do so, seeing them as the next step in evolution.

History[]

The grandfather of Aki's friend Bert, Dr. Wily was a veteran diplomate in the Hard Ages, a time where there was a horrific war between robots and humans. Wily worked alongside the soldier Thomas Light, who built a pair of adaptive robots. As the war continued, Wily saw the potential robots had to control the world. After the Hard Ages, Wily became Silicon City's top scholar about the time period. However, behind the scenes, Wily was helping Skull Man, a robot master who took over the forces of the now imprisoned Sergeant Night, who wanted to restart the war.

Aki would seek out Dr. Wily, being his final battle with Night unlocked several hidden memories about his time in the Hard Ages, and that Night's right hand Namagem was actually his brother, being that Dr. Light wouldn't disclose such information. At the idea of Suna, Aki would attend Wily's lecture, only for it to be attacked by Skull Man's forces. Desperate for answers, Aki would go to Wily's house as Megaman to ask the Doctor directly. Wily tells Megaman what he wanted to hear, and offers to upgrade Megaman's schematic duplication ability, believing he could lead robots into a new age of peace. Megaman was skeptical of the idea, still left with little answers, but more questions.

After some deciding, Megaman agreed to the upgrade, unaware Wily was also using it to copy the schematics to build his own Robot Masters. After the upgrade was finished, Skull Man and his forces attacked, quickly overpowering Megaman. Fortunately for him, his sister Suna had arrived in a suit of armor, now calling herself Zero, and came to the rescue. Unbeknownst to the siblings, the upgrade ruse was actually meant to be bait for Skull Man to ambush Megaman. As Skull Man did battle with Megaman, Wily was met with Namagem, who started calling himself Daini. Wily would appease to Daini, seeing the twin's potential as well, giving him a Power Adapter upgrade to go alongside the recently obtained Skull Man schematics. As Daini was being upgraded, Wily copied his schematic list too.

After Daini destroyed Skull Man and fought his family, the two brothers were given more of their memories back and came to an understanding. Wily was disappointed in Daini and Aki, and attacked them with a vehicle of his own design that assimilated the various defeated robots in the streets into itself, revealing what he had taken. Zero, Megaman, and Namagem would attack together, destroying most of Wily's mech. The Doctor was able to escape into a second airship, declaring that a true ultimate weapon would be in the works. While Daini left to figure things out, the rest of the Light Family agreed to fight Wily when he returned.
