Albert Yamada is a minor antagonist of the anime, manga, and light novel series Classroom of the Elite. He is a student of Class 1-C, and is a loyal subordinate/friend and classmate of Kakeru Ryūen, the considered leader of his class alongside Mio Ibuki.
He is voiced by Ricky in Japanese and by Jeremy Woods in English.
Appearance[]
Despite being in his teenage years, Albert is an african-japanese young man of very tall height and muscular build. He is almost always seen wearing a pair of sunglasses that covers his eyes. In terms of attire, he wears his standard school uniform that is a crimson red color with a blue necktie and turquoise pants.
Personality[]
He is mostly seen expressionless, usually keeping a straight face and remains stern and very serious while following his “boss” Ryūen around.
For certain reasons, Albert is willing to follow any orders that he receives from Ryūen, making him a highly loyal bodyguard or basically acting as his shield. However, he still possesses some soft spots, such as his desire of not wanting to use violences on certain students, this is exemplified when he requested Daichi Ishizaki to not develop any hatred toward him as he is only following Ryūen’s desires.
Additionally, he also displays his immense loyalty when he answers that he has the desire to watch over people that he trusts.
Abilities[]
Due to his strong physical build, he can surpass the physical prowess of average students. Even some of the most talented martial artists in the school like Mio Ibuki was effortlessly overpowered with ease due to the large difference of size between the two of them. His fighting prowess is greatly overwhelmed when he is faced with someone as talented as Kiyotaka Ayanokōji in combat who took him down in a matter of seconds even though he had the advantage of possessing greater height, since Kiyotaka had greater talent and experiences in martial arts, strength as well as speed that breaks Albert’s defenses.
Trivia[]
- Albert is the only character that is African origin in the entire series so far who is also unable to speak in Japanese but in English, which was shown a brief moment when he was being asked about his objective next year as a second student.
