Alberto Marica is a supporting antagonist from El Matador. He was the owner of the Barracuda nightclub and a drug lord.

Biography[]

Alberto Marica owned several nightclubs, but his largest was the Barracuda, which also hosted other, much darker activities, including parties and gambling. The man was actually a drug lord who made most of his income from narcotics, and he also engaged in human and organ trafficking. On one occasion, his men kidnapped the daughter of District Attorney J. Bennet and took her to the Barracuda nightclub, but this was a big mistake because the attorney immediately contacted the authorities after his daughter disappeared, and with that, the drug lord caught their attention. Agents M. Vasques and L. Kerra attempted to enter the building and free the girl, but they did not return and did not give any report or indication of their situation. However, this was too much and suspicious, so the police decided to fully intervene and sent a special squad to infiltrate the Barracuda nightclub and find the agents and the girl.

However, Alberto's men were waiting for them with full of guns, and a fierce, bloody battle began. The police immediately received the order to fire, they were allowed to kill the criminals, and their task was to capture the drug lord, among their tasks. However, Marcia saw that his men were killed in a short time, and at that point he decided to cover his tracks and timed a bomb to blow up the building, then headed inside the club. However, this failed, as one of the police officers, Victor Corbet, defused the bomb and found several white bags marked with a black scorpion symbol in the room, which clearly contained narcotics. The police then continued to go inside the club, where Alberto scolded his men, even slapping one of them. The police then opened fire and shot them, but the drug lord successfully escaped even deeper, but they followed him. They shot his men one after another, and finally Victor and his companion found a small storage room with an elevator, and took it deep into the building.

Here they descended into a sewer system, but the elevator door did not open, but behind them there was a gap closed with wooden planks, which Victor shot through with his rifle, so their path was clear. They saw Alberto continuing to flee while his men tried to kill his enemies, but the police shot the gangsters. However, the two police officers ended up in a much worse place from the sewer network. He arrived at a place full of torture chambers, where a lot of torture instruments were found, mainly objects used in the Middle Ages. These included pillories, racks, blankets, and ropes used for hanging, but they found some other instruments like electric chairs. They found the girl they were looking for in one of the locked rooms. There were no signs of abuse on her, but there was a rack next to her in the small room, which suggests that the criminals wanted to torture her. Victor then decided whether to capture or kill Alberto Marica, while his companion took the girl with him to escape the sewer. He then went even deeper, where, in addition to the torture devices, he found modern medical equipment, surgical lights, monitors, operating tables, disinfectants, and a cooling device used to store dead bodies. This made it likely that Alberto Marica was not only a drug lord, but also a human and organ trafficker, and the evidence and terrible things kept piling up against him. Corbert found more and more prison cells whose contents were clean, but he found more and more torture instruments that were bloody. He then entered the largest torture chamber, where he found cutting instruments, mainly knives, cleavers, and axes. He was then attacked by some gangsters and the head of the torture chambers, Bucho the Butcher, who happily told the policeman that he would kill him and put his body in the freezer with the other victims. However, this failed, Corbet killed Bucho and the other criminals, then went on to capture the drug lord. After this, the police clashed with the criminals in the sewer and several people died, but in the end the gangsters lost, and Victor went further, where in an even deeper secluded area he noticed a hole from which he saw some dead bodies. He found the bodies of agents M. Vasques and L. Kerra, as well as the bodies of three unknown men, and then climbed up through the hole leading to it, using metal poles mounted in the wall. He arrived in a room that had torture devices and cells, but it was treated more like a storage room, due to the many shelves, containers, and boxes. He found a barred gate through which he saw his companion, then Alberto Marica tried to shoot Victor from behind, but the policeman took cover in time and saw that he could not convince the drug lord to surrender with words or anything, so it was inevitable that he would kill him. In the warehouse, Alberto tried to resist, but Victor started shooting him in the leg, then wounded him, and the drug lord retreated towards the hole. Corbert then shot the criminal several times, who tried with his last strength to shoot the policeman, but he was hit again, then fell backwards into the hole and into the sewer next to the five bodies, dying instantly.

Personality[]

Alberto Marica was a rather unscrupulous, vile, spineless, arrogant, and narcissistic criminal. He insulted and belittled his henchmen after their failures, and in some cases physically abused them, and considering the evidence and the torture chambers and medical equipment under his nightclub, his victims suffered a very brutal and cruel fate. What was particularly striking was his uninhibited and sociopathic behavior, as after almost every failure and setback he became angry, impulsive and reckless, and he had absolutely no interest in anyone or anything other than his own survival and profit, as he even wanted to blow up his own people with a bomb when he wanted to remove evidence of narcotics in the nightclub.
