Aleister Crowley, born Edward Alexander Crowley, is the main antagonist of the A Certain Magical Index franchise.
Once referred to as the greatest magician in history and now magic's greatest embarrassment, who had quit magic in order to analyze science and technology, Aleister is the founder and leader of Academy City and the de facto ruler of the Science Side, who presides over the Board of Directors and holds absolute power within the city. As leader of Academy City, he manipulates many events and prepares countless plans, being responsible for the many inhuman experiments in Academy City such as the Sisters Project where clones were massacred for the sole purpose for increasing an esper's power. He is also the former friend and student of Allan Bennett, the former contractor of Aiwass and the archenemy of Touma Kamijou and Coronzon.
While most of his motives remain unknown, it is revealed that Aleister's main goal is to destroy the phases of reality and rid the world of all magic and mysticism. This is due to his immense hatred towards the Magic Gods, who were indirectly responsible for the death of his daughter.

Appearance[]
Aleister's unique appearance is often described as being “masculine yet feminine, adult yet childlike, and saintly yet sinful”, a reference to how he is literally a human of many possibilities, giving him a mysterious and yet eerie presence. However, he commonly appears as a tall, androgynous-looking man in his mid twenties or thirties. His green hospital robes and his long white hair also give him an unnatural appearance further showing how alien or 'human' he is. The original light novel artist and co-creator Kiyotaka Haimura designed Aleister to be something like an alien in human skin. He is normally seen upside down in his tank of mysterious liquid that supposedly keeps him alive, located inside the Windowless Building.
In one of his many possibilities, referred to as Aleis-tan, he appears as a silver-haired, pale-skinned young girl wearing a pale blue double blazer uniform, a black cloak and a witch like hat.

Aleister Crowley is a cold, ruthless, enigmatic, and machiavellian individual who rarely shows any emotion and has an incredibly ominous aura that reflects his character. A man of great intellect, Aleister is extremely calculative in every one of his moves and always plans far ahead in advance and has many back-up plans if his initial ones fail. He mainly prioritizes his own ambitions and goals over others, and has no problem killing people when the situation calls for it. While he is usually calm and collected, Aleister is also rather prideful and arrogant, often smiling at interesting events or when his plan is going to schedule. Aleister mostly sees things in a matter-of-fact manner and though this is often mixed with darker cynicism, he is by no means a cruel or malevolent person as he only is focused on the most efficient option to furthering his goal of destroying magic and re-establishing the Pure World. Thus, when Aleister performs an act others see as "evil" or "immoral", he isn't really doing so out of a desire to be malicious, he simply does what he sees as necessary for a given situation and sees the notions of right and wrong as utterly irrelevant.
As a self-proclaimed satanist, Aleister has held considerable disdain for the Gods of all religions, particularly looking down on the Abrahamic God who presumably created the world ever since he was a young boy, believing him to be a incompetent fraud for being fooled by humans and failing to punish liars. He then sought to find the proper rules of the world and prove that God wasn't so great as everyone thought he was. However, it was the Magic Gods' indirect involvement in the death of Lilith Crowley, his newborn daughter, that pushed Aleister down the path to destroy both religion and magic.
Despite his cold disposition, Aleister still has a human personality, as Aiwass tells him he appears to be jealous of others, specifically the three heroes, Touma Kamijou, Accelerator and Shiage Hamazura, as they each possess something Aleister lacks: Touma manages to protect his friends and loved ones, Accelerator is redeeming himself after a big mistake and Hamazura is surviving no matter how many times Aleister sends a pawn to kill him. Aleister cares deeply for his deceased daughter Lilith who is one of few exceptions that Aleister will display raw emotion for. Noukan Kihara states that Aleister tends to sound sensible and collected when he's actually handling everything through emotion.
Aleister is also somewhat a humanitarian, despite his ruthlessness, and values freedom above all other laws. He wishes to destroy magic to presumably free humanity from its influence so that they can reach true happiness. Although Aleister claims to value human life, he will not hesitate to kill anyone who tries to oppose him and his plans. In addition to this, Aleister is prone to feelings of wrath and is rather vindictive, as seen when threatens Leivinia Birdway by cutting off a few strands of her hair after she taunts him about the derailment of his plans.
Furthermore, beneath all his narcissism and haughtiness, Aleister is truly an extremely insecure person, due to his long history of personal failures and tragedies. Orsola Aquinas suggests this is the reason for Aleister's arrogance and his use of sarcasm and insults to belittle and tease others. Aleister lacks confidence on himself and wants others to recognize his skills and talent, so he acts important and superior to others and cannot relax until he compares himself with others and finds himself superior. This is something that is mocked by other characters such as Aiwass in this passage and also Laura Stuart. He was cursed to a life of failure by his colleague Mathers, which Aleister prepares for by making complex plans so that no matter what happens, he will be able to advance every outcome and possibility to progress his plan. Aleister has several conflicting desires at heart, which makes him a valid target for the World Rejecter.
In his youth, Aleister was noted to be a pervert who loved sex jokes, wrote cheap erotic novels, described human genitalia in a number of different ways and teased others in ways that would be considered sexual harassment in modern times. Despite this, Aleister was never interested in love (due to how easily popular he was with women because of his androgynous looks and eccentric charisma) until he met his future wife Rose, and he acted as a complete gentleman in his attempts to woo her. While in his female persona, Aleister reveals a rather playful and mischievous side to him, constantly harassing and teasing Touma in their search for Lilith.
During the Coronzon Arc, Aleister acted as a father-figure towards both Touma and Accelerator and even gave the latter the position of Board Chairman of Academy City, believing that Accelerator would make it a better and more happier place. Regardless of this human side to him, Aleister still intends to destroy all magic and mysticism but also wants to protect both Touma and Accelerator, implying that he somewhat cares for them.
Biography[]
Born as Edward Alexander Crowley, Aleister at a young age was cynical at how people blindly followed god, he wished people accepted new ideas and that people would seek the truth. Aleister was hated by everyone he knew for this. Aleister was drawn to magic to find the truth and joined a magic cabal, however his colleagues kept a secret that events are predetermined by magic’s existence. This also meant Aleister’s future daughter would die as an infant. Aleister was enraged how no one would act upon this to change the world and merely accepted it. Aleister killed his colleagues and seeked a new set of laws by contacting Aiwass.

Magic Mastery: Bearing the title of the Greatest Magician in History, Aleister is an immensely powerful magician, basically mastering nearly every form of magic ever known. He incorporates his magic into his technology and weapons. In his prime, Aleister was so powerful of a magician, he could have became a Magic God if he wanted.
- Spiritual Tripping: Aleister's primary offensive magic which was taught to him by his former mentor, Allan Bennett. It is a technique through which Aleister conveys his meditation to someone else by connecting his body to the target's just like a voodoo doll and links their movements, allowing him to affect their perception and enter their mind. To do so, Aleister forms various gestures relating to a weapon and three specific numbers appear from his palm in succession before a weapon appears in his hands. This paints a picture of the “weapon” in the target’s brain and creates a foothold for influencing them. Since the weapon is merely an illusion it does not exist but does real damage thus negates durability. It only harms what Aleister chooses to be the target, so it will not harm the environment if he chooses an enemy as a target. The attack simply passes through anything that isn’t the target like it isn’t there, making armour or using someone else as a shield useless for example. The weapon is invisible to everyone but Aleister and the target. Aleister's top rate skill as a magician allows him to accurately instill people with an image of texture, sheen, weight, hardness, and power of the weapon he's mimicking; so even if the target is not aware of the weapon's identity or power or even if they try to imagine something else as a counter, the true nature of the illusory weapon will pull through. Since it all comes from the target’s own brain, physical distance will not cause a drop in accuracy. Additionally, if someone targeted by this technique does not die through its effects, that person will essentially bear a curse saying that, from that point on, every choice they ever make will end in failure. Aleister can attack multiple targets with one attack such as the Magic Gods or the Mimetic Predators. Spiritual Tripping is also capable of destroying non-physical entities such as when he used the Gamma Knife to destroy Coronzon’s influence inside Fran. The weapons he has manifested includes:
- Flintlock: An old-fashioned flintlock gun, created using the numbers 32, 30, 10.
- Claymore: A gigantic double-edged sword nearly as tall as Aleister himself, created using the numbers 1, 27, 5.
- Staff: A twisted staff made of silver, created using the numbers 28, 4, 29. This is the staff used to disguise the use of Blasting Rod.
- Fencing Sword: A sharp fencing sword, created using the numbers 13, 5, 32.
- Big Bang Bomb: Aleister mimics using a pair of binoculars to look at the enemy, like the military binoculars used to designate attack coordinates via laser or GPS. An aerial support Big Bang Bomb will hit the enemy with the power of a real Big Bang, blowing through the entire universe and contaminating them to the very last cell with radiation.
- Gamma Knife: Aleister mimics holding a pencil-like gamma knife, the medical tool that uses radiation to operate a brain tumor inside the brain by burning away the tumor while bypassing the organ.
- Scythe: A large silver scythe. It symbolizes the moon.
- Golden Staff: A golden staff with a spherical head. It symbolizes the sun.
- Others: Other spiritual weapons created by Aleister are a shield and a bow.

- Blasting Rod: A spell that originally belonged to Allan Bennett, Aleister's friend, and teacher. While Bennet and Aleister disguise it as a silver staff with the effect of sending the target’s refined magic power out of control to knock them unconscious without harming them, the true meaning of Blasting Rod is a support spell that, when called, amplifies the power/effect of Aleister's magic to 10 times that which the target believes it to be. Because the targets expectation of the power output will usually rise with every use so does that power. If for example, the target, after the range of the attack was increased by 10 times after the first use, expects the range to be that long, the range will be increased by 100 times of the original value the next time it is used. This weapon is what would enable a human-like Aleister to even match a Magic God in battle if they expect his power to be comparable to theirs. This spell can even be used on Aiwass if Aleister has summoned it.
- Abracadabra: One of the great achievements of Aleister Crowley, based on the most famous magic phrase in the world. It's often included in magic charms and magic circles rather than incantations, where its effect of curse reversal allows one to use it as a protective charm to divert enemy curses or even send them back towards them.
- I supply lightning for thy death: Aleister can also use Abracadabra as a curse-reversal circle to capture, slightly twist and redirect one of the countless curses that fly around the world at all times and aim it at a target of his choosing by drawing out an upside-down triangle with the same letters arranged in a regular fashion. Since the curse is not his, he doesn't have to refine magical power and thus cannot be traced back to him. With it he was able to twist a curse to target Mikoto Misaka, who was subsequently struck with such force that she convulsed as if she were a normal person struck by lightning, causing severe bleeding and incapacitating her on the spot.
- Karma: A complex spell developed by Aleister, developed from multiple sources of magic, both Western and Eastern.
- Shadow Blade: First a large shadow gathers under the opponent and stabs them, leaving a black shadow blade in their torso. However, this shadow blade does not cause physical harm or even cause much discomfort to the victim after they recover from the initial shock. Instead, the shadow sword is a magic sword, the symbolic weapon meant to guide the summoning ceremony. While it is primarily something like an amulet that drives out negative power and protects the spell user, ‘drive out’ also means to ‘divert or guide in a convenient direction’. So if used correctly it can be used for summoning. Since Aleister is aware of IB, he developed the sword to be broken. If the sword is broken the shards will scatter everywhere, tearing the victim from within.
- Karmic Beast: 2 skeleton-like 4-legged magic beasts summoned by the shadow blade. One is made of chains with a handcuff as its skull while the other is made of chains with a bicycle gear as its skull. The handcuff-beast is viewed as a ring and symbolizes the female. The gear-beast is viewed as the sun and symbolizes the male. Both beasts emit a strange rainbow-colored light. The beasts are tough enough to not be damaged when rammed with a ton truck at full speed. The two beasts will continue to spawn as long as the shadow blade that summons them is intact.
- Karmic Retribution: If destroyed, a vague haze surrounds the person who destroyed it. This is based on the concept of karmic retribution, the idea that your own actions invite the result you receive, using the simplest karma, the karma of killing. The more beasts a person kills, the heavier and thicker the karma they bear grows. If the target tries to destroy or remove the karma they have received without taking care of the source of the spell, their karma will also increase as they bear the "karma of killing karma".
- Magic Interference: The handcuff beast represents binding and stagnation and the gear represents acceleration. The karmic beasts can use this symbolism to interfere with spells being casted and send them out of control as long as the spells are based on colors.
- Spray: Aleister has constructed a way to gather together the unpredictable sparks and spray caused by the collisions between phases that fail to become miracles, making them act as a lightning rod to guide his own magic as an invisible attack from an unexpected angle.
- A.A.A. Hijacking: Due to the A.A.A. being a weapon made to project and amplify Aleister's power, Aleister can take control of it even against the wishes of its wielder, using its weapons or even projecting some of his magic through it.
- Babylon Spell: A spell and type of blood sacrifice used by Aleister after shifting to one of her female bodies using Babalon, the Whore of Babylon, as a symbol of femininity. This spell can be used in two ways. In the first way Aleister charges the enemy surrounded by scarlet red light more sinister than fresh blood. In the second one, the spell shoots a powerful beam of red light, which Aleister can also project from any A.A.A. that is present.
- Crowley's Hazards: Aleister's existence surpasses the realms of what can be expressed through 0 or 1. Due to that every alternate possible version of him born from the various ‘ifs’ exists. He usually restricts all of those versions to a single coordinate, because they won't necessarily cooperate with each other, which is why he gives off so many contradicting impressions. He can also let one alternative version branch out to appear somewhere in the world and disappear again at will, not quite teleporting but more like faxing. If fully released, the amount of alternative Aleisters produced is 1,083,092,867 according to the Tree Diagram and the Reading Thot 78's calculations. The alternative Aleisters are of various natures some having mastered magic like the original, but many others are different, often not even human in appearance. If the current main Aleister is killed apparently one of the hazards becomes the new main Aleister with a limited degree of control over the rest of the Crowley's Hazards. The current main Aleister "Aleis-tan" possesses all of the capabilities of the original Crowley and seems to recognize herself as having the same history as the original Crowley suggesting that the consciousness is transferred if a new main Crowley is selected.
- Possibility Sacrifice: Aleister is capable of sacrificing the Crowley's Hazards to boost the power of his magic and to handle the magic recoil of bigger spells.
- Blood Sacrifice: If the Crowley's Hazards are killed a red haze appears around the main Aleister. He can use this haze to summon red magic circles to use as a shield that scatters attacks instead of stopping them, but more importantly, it defrags and optimizes the main Aleister. This grants him a boost in power the more of the Hazards are killed, vastly enhancing his physical capabilities. Due to this Aleis-tan was boosted to the point of being able to physically rival or even surpass saints like Kanzaki Kaori. Aleister can also use the red has used to eject a possessing entity, as seen when she used it to eject demon Qliphah Puzzle 545 which was possessing Kanzaki by shaping it into a spear-like shape.

- Space Launch: By drawing a symbol on the air using her broom, the female Aleister possibility was able to launch the Windowless Building into space. This technique used up about 5 Crowley possibilities, including the magic recoil absorption.
- Archetype Controller: Aleister is able to control archetypes, a psychological concept for a common understanding or sense of values that developed as each member of a race or group dealt with an identical problem in the same way. Somehow Aleister can create, send them out of the world, and even destroy them. For example, he can change the current archetype of Academy City that could be called as man's worship of science into an archetype that science is heretical. Noukan Kihara states that this power is so great that despite leaving the magic side his is still the archetype of modern Western magic of the Golden period and are still strongly influenced by him to this day. Yuiitsu Kihara herself is the one who refers to Aleister as the "Archetype Controller" and because of that key factor sees him as an insurmountable being, with Noukan commenting that fighting him would result in a fate worse than death for them. In practice the Archetype Controller allows Aleister to divide groups into multiple portions and pit them against each other.
- Illusion Creation: Aleister can bend light to disguise his appearance, as seen when he took the form of one of the magical beasts summoned by Karma to ambush Touma and the others.
- Summoning: As a former member of the Golden Dawn, Aleister is very knowledgeable in the summoning of spirits, be it angels or demons, to use their power. In particular, he's able to summon the angel Aiwass, though this requires a complex ritual and a large source of AIM. While Aiwass is summoned Aleister is stated to possess some form of quasi-immortality by distorting the circulation of his own life force using the attraction of a great being like Aiwass, similar to the technique used by Westcott, a founder of the Golden Dawn cabal. Additionally Aleister is with preparation of a magic circle able to summon spirits to possess people, like he demonstrated using his own wife.
- Clairvoyance: Aleister can use the tarot to predict the future. For example, he was aware that his first daughter was doomed to die very young before he even met and married his wife, and he similarly foresaw and prophesied World War I.
- St. Margaret Anti-demon Spell: A Christian magic spell based on using the legend of St. Margaret as a symbol of stripping away a demon, stealing its power, removing the disaster, and retrieving peace. The spell is performed by Aleister stepping on a demon, weakening their power.
- Banner of the West: A sealing technique in which Aleister seals the target into the ground. Through the use of this technique he could seal Lola Stuart. In order to use the seal he requires the banner of the west to be drawn unto the ground. When he sealed Lola he interpreted a part of the network of Academy City's streets as forming the banner of the west, despite them not being laid out for this purpose, turning the entire city into a seal in the process. This means, while the requirement of having the banner of the west drawn is a restriction, there are also various ways Aleister could use to get around this restriction.
- Neutralization of Western Magic: Aleister Crowley can negate all western magic. More specifically he can neutralize and hijack all magic based on theory of western magic he constructed and redistributed, due to knowing all backdoors and zero-day exploits in the technical system. Since this includes the very fundamentals of western magic even if a western magician were to use a spell invented in ancient Egypt that calls upon Anubis it would be negated as long as the magicians understanding of magic originates from Crowley's work. However with this there are also clear limitations to the ability. Extraordinary magicians like the magic gods or people like Mathers and Westcott that have developed their own unique magic system can use magic unrestricted of Aleister's ability. In other words, what isn't based on Aleisters teachings can't be negated this way.
- Knowledge of the Aeons and the Two Trees: Aleister has knowledge of all Aeons and has magic that belongs to each aeon. He also has immense knowledge of the Tree of Life (Sephiroth) and the Tree of Evil (Qliphoth). Aleister was capable of destroying 10 spheres of the Qliphoth in an attempt to destroy Qliphah Puzzle 545, however she still survived. The Qliphoth can trip the minds of those who try to view it without the necessary training After merging with Coronzon, Aleister crossed the Abyss of Sephiroth and gained all knowledge of the Sephiroth.
- Phase Manipulation: Aleister has said he has some control over the phases, but dislikes doing so as it makes him no better than the Magic Gods that he hates. He can manipulate the sparks to fire called “Spray” which can inflict greater damage after an attack. Since Aleister does not want to contribute to the sparks that help form the phases, Aleister does not release them, but his body can be hurt as a result.
- Gravity Manipulation: Aleister can manipulate gravity inside the windowless building. He can also manipulate gravity so that the victim sinks into the ground like it is nothing.
- Bend Light: Aleister can bend the light around him to hide his presence or can create illusions to shape shift.
- Spell Restructure: Aleister developed modern western magical theory and even mastered magic which means he can easily alter the magic of others to his advantage. Aleister used this on the Magic God Zombie’s Spell, the Spell divided the Magic Gods’ power by infinity so that they could fit in the universe without destroying it. Aleister defeated Zombie and adjusted the spell so it considerably weakened the Magic Gods.

- Christian Magic: Despite his hatred for God, Aleister has used Christian Magic on multiple occasions with nothing more than just a simple bible.
- Son of God Synchronization: A spell that synchronizes the user with the Son of God. The closer the magician becomes to the Son of God, the more they are purified and the more power they can demonstrate, becoming beings similar to Saints. As a result of this spell Aleister gains white wings and a halo appears above her head, a sweet aroma scatters around her like lily flowers, and she is enveloped by a purifying white light. Aleister's version of the spell is based on the pentagrammaton, the five letters used to represent the Son of God. Chant: "Those four hidden letters form a holy square which cannot be uttered by human mouths. The Y-H-V-H which indicate God himself are hopelessly inadequate and the puny human body cannot fathom his true essence. But people seek salvation. They seek a salvation they can understand with their knowledge. So let us construct a bridge by adding a Sh. The five holy letters are Y-H-Sh-V-H. That is, the Son of God. By combining the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, humanity can see salvation for themselves!!"
- Stigmata: Aleister's synchronization with the Son of God is higher than Mathers, and eventually Stigmata appeared on her body. Once enough wounds are present the spell makes Aleister temporarily transform into a mass of pure white ligh that scorches even the darkness of outer space. The power density of the spell is so high that it disrupts the power transfer from the ley lines in the earth to users of that power, like for example original grimoires.

- St. Christopher's Staff: A spell based on the legend of St. Christopher. Aleister can summon a silver staff and turn it into a small palm tree staff. When used as a blunt weapon Aleister can increase the palm trees weight way beyond what its volume or density suggests. Chant: "St. Christopher repented after serving the devil in search of the greatest master. The son weighed as much as the entire world, so that saint – when he could not bear the weight and nearly drowned – saw his true lord, the Son of God, in the staff he carried!!"
- Anti-Archangel flame spell: Aleister can use magic to create powerful flames, which she can use for a spell capable of banishing and destroy Christian Archangels. To use the spell she first scrapes the bottom of her staff against the ground, creating blazing sparks. As a result a protective circle appears around her and great waves of explosive flames burst out across the 180 degrees in front of her. The flames are strong enough to destroy Archangels. Chant: "Uriel is the excommunicated angel, a demon who fell to the depths of the earth. Uriel is one of the seven who was driven from their throne of light for humanity’s convenience and is not found in the stories of God. The canon is absolute. In the name of Pope Zachary, I shall smash your angel worship and thus your harmony with those four!!"
- Flame Transformation: A spell based on the Qliphoth which transforms flames into harmless white flower petals. Chant: "All is a creation of God, even the forces which have parted ways with him and lurk in the depths of the earth. My fingertips reach the Qliphoth! The appropriate knowledge drawn from there is neither good nor evil!!"
- Longinus Healing Spell: A healing spell based on the roman soldier Longinus being healed by the blood of the Son of God. With this magic Aleister can use a drop of blood to heal even those on the verge of death, instantly healing their bodies as a gentle light envelops all their wounds. Chant: "Longinus was a blind soldier. He was the saint who pierced the Son of God’s side to confirm his death. The holy one’s blood dripped down the lance and entered Longinus’s body where it healed the foolish soldier’s eyes and revealed a visible world to him. This drop can produce miracles, so reopen the realm of possibility to this trapped one!!"

Superior-Level Intellect: Aleister's most dangerous weapon is his exceptional intellect. His knowledge extends to virtually any scientific or magical field and his mind is said to work as fast as a sophisticated computer. Widely considered as the greatest magician in history, Aleister has amassed vast amounts of magical knowledge from several tutors and sources over the years and is so high that he could have become a Magic God if he wanted to. According to Index, he's the most influential magician of the modern era, with magic having evolved more in the last 70 years than in the several thousand years prior and claiming over 20% of modern magicians follow his teachings while 50% of all magicians are influenced by them to some extent. As the founder and leader of Academy City, Aleister has great technological expertise. He was able to improvised in a very short span of time a powerful computer virus that would make Mikoto Misaka's cyber warfare attempts seem like a joke, with the virus capable of shutting down almost all computers and infrastructure of Academy City's and its cooperative institutions across the world while using an internet cafe. He also proves himself to be a capable engineer, being able to construct futuristic items, such as four micro rocket engines the size of 500mL bottles that allow him to fly and weapons like the Super Sonic Striker, a weapon that fires shockwave spears infused with a dust of titanium alloy at Mach 9.8, out of materials that can be found at a normal shopping center within a short time. Other weapons mentioned by Aleister are an ultra-low temperature bondage liquid, a planetary core vibration magma cannon, and a deadly magnetosphere compression EM wave cannon. In addition, he also has natural talents for leadership, strategy, politics, and manipulation.
- Master Tactician: Possibly his greatest asset, Aleister is a strategic mastermind, developing various complex and intertwined plans to achieve his goals for over half a century. He always has multiple plans running for every scenario, which allows him to always develop events in the direction he wants even if he constantly fails at every step. Some of this plans are even developed to fail in the first place to further other parts of his main plan. Aleister's tactical intuition also allows him to accurately predict incoming events and effectively manipulate said events to his advantage. Perhaps what makes Aleister most formidable is his capability of manipulating others. He has proven to be a very cunning and skilled manipulator, allowing him to gain the trust of others and use them for any situation. During the Battle of Blythe Road, Aleister attacked the head temple of the Golden Dawn magic cabal and managed to manipulate the members who were loyal to Mathers and Westcott to turn against one another, thanks to a forged letter. Amidst the chaos of battle, Aleister successfully killed several golden dawn magicians while making it look like the work of an enemy faction, proving himself to be an efficient multitasker and quick-thinker. His level of manipulation has caused him immense dislike from Touma Kamijou.

- Allan Bennett † - Close friend and Mentor, he was a member of the Golden Dawn who taught Aleister Spiritual Tripping, and was the one who told him about Lilith foretold death. He accepted his death at the hands of his friend.
- Mina Mathers † - Close friend, Mina was a member of the Golden Dawn and the wife of Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, although Mina wasn't close to Crowley, as much as her husband, she worked with him while in the cabal as they worked together often. She was ultimately struck by Aleister after his downfall.
- Heaven Canceller - Associate and Savior, Heaven Canceller was the person who saved Aleister from death after he found the magician in England, he helped Aleister escape to Japan and form Academy City, and hooked Aleister to a life-supporting machine that would extend his life.
- Board of Directors - Subordinates, being the former Board Chairman, he has high influence on them, although he may disregard their lives, as seen when Vento killed three of them, he simply said they can be easily replaced.

- Noukan Kihara - Associate and close ally. Kihara Noukan has known Aleister for a very a long time and has formed ties with him, he gained an understanding of the world a step outside science. Noukan states that the Kiharas cannot defeat Aleister Crowley due to his use of Archetype Controller. With the help of Aleister Noukan was able to send High Priest into space. For much of the series Noukan has told Aleister to improve humanity but asked him not to abandon his humanity in the process. After Coronzon reveal herself, Noukan has helped Aleister with Anti-Art-Attachment and after his subsequent death after his fight with Coronzon, Noukan is one of the few who knew Aleister survived.
- Amata Kihara † - Enforcer. Aleister used Amata in order for him to manifest Fuse=Kazakiri as an angel.
- Aiwass - Mentor and Associate. Aiwass was summoned by Aleister a mysterious entity that has existed for thousands of years, Aleister learned from Aiwass the "Angelic Technique" that no human is able to use, and recorded it in the Book of the Law. Aiwass existence is very important to Aleister Plan. Aiwass was also the one who prevented Lilith's death which when summoned into Rose body it allowed the baby to live without a vessel. Aleister tried to first manifest Aiwass in the world by using the Sisters Project, and later by using Kazakiri Hyouka by turning her into an angel. When Kamijou Touma invades the Windowless Building, Aleister summoned Aiwass by using the power of the city's espers gathered at the Windowless Building via the citywide nerve network. It should be noted that Aleister is unaware that Aiwass originally works for Anna Sprengel as a Secret Chief as she was the first to actually manifest the angel in the world, meanwhile Aleister has used Aiwass for his plan to destroy all phases.
- Mina Mathers (Reading Thoth 78) - Creation and Associate, Mina is a recreation of the magician Mina Mathers that has died. She is actually A thought entity accidentally produced when Aleister incorporated the Thoth Tarot into the Reading Thoth 78, she is a parallel processing device in the Windowless Building, who's role is to remind Aleister of his trauma. After she was given a grimoire by Aiwass she was able to leave the Windowless Building, she spends most of the time taking care of Aleister daughter, Lilith.
- Anna Kingsford - Close ally and reanimator, Anna Kingsford was reanimated by Aleister in his preparations to take down Anna Sprengel, Although at first Aleister only viewed her as a weapon, he starts to care for her. At some point even warning Anna not to deal with enemies she cannot defeat. In turn Anna has shown kindness to Aleister and she occasionally comfort Aleister problems. When he thought that Anna was killed by CRC Aleister was shedding tears and was blaming himself, and later attacked her when he found out she was alive in joy. Aleister didn't want Kingsford to end up in hell.

- Accelerator - Current successor and situational ally. For the most of the series, Aleister has only viewed Accelerator as one of his pawns, creating the Sisters Project and cloning and tricking him into achieving Level 6 by killing mass-produced clones. and likewise Accelerator disliked Aleister for his actions, however this began to change; when Aleister was facing death, he told Accelerator he wouldn't mind dying at his hands for all the horrible crimes he committed against Accelerator, although Accelerator refused to kill him, instead Aleister handed him his phone telling Accelerator that he is the new Board Chairman and to make Academy City where everyone can smile and not make the same mistakes he did. In fact when Accelerator became the Board Chairman he admitted to refuse to follow in Aleister footsteps such as using the UNDER_LINE Network but instead relied on Qliphah Puzzle 545 and Kazakiri Hyouka.
- Touma Kamijou - Arch-frenemy and situational ally. Aleister viewed Touma with the same perspective he viewed Accelerator, however because Touma possessed the Imagine Breaker, he did use him many times in the series. It can be said, creating Academy City and splitting Science and Magic side due to the existence of Touma to find the current holder of Imagine Breaker by putting the wielder in a city full of supernatural phenomenon. When Touma first met Aleister in person in the Windowless Building he was furious with him after experiencing his past, and even fought with him, though Touma had help from Mina Mathers. Touma does understand Aleister actions and why he hate magic so much, after Aleister becomes a girl he frequently flirts with Touma. In the final battle against a recreation of Mathers, Touma has helped Aleister in the fight, and after his "death" Touma is one of the few people who know that Aleister has survived albeit by mistake. Currently in Aleister eyes, he doesn't view Touma as a pawn anymore and he sometimes wishes to help the boy.
- Shiage Hamazura - Former target and situational ally. Aleister wanted to get rid of Hamazura because he doesn't fit in his plan, he was an irregularity unlike Accelerator and Kamijou Touma who both fit in his plan.
- Mitori Kouzaku - One-sided archenemy and attempted killer. Mitori displays great hatred towards Aleister for his role in the death of her childhood friend, Dolly, the prototype clone of Mikoto Misaka. She seeks to take revenge on Aleister and even tried to attack the Windowless Building multiple times in an effort to kill him.

- Coronzon - Arch-nemesis and mortal enemy. Coronzon was summoned by Mathers in order for it to ruin Aleister life, and this proved successful as Coronzon first kills Aleister inside the Windowless Building, but now surviving in the body of a female, Coronzon would then re-create all the Golden Dawn members including Mathers, create an artificial demon Qliphah Puzzle 545 and Divine Mixtures all acting as anti-Crowley measures. Coronzon also tried to hijack Aleister body when first summoned but was saved by his apprentice Victor Neuburg. The demon would then fled and possessed the body of Aleister second daughter while under the guise of Lola Stuart. Coronzon actions towards Aleister are pretty major in general and can be considered as one of Aleister biggest archenemy. When Aleister was on death's door, he survived but now inhabiting Coronzon body, something he wanted to avoid at all costs.
- Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers - Former mentor and arch-rival. Mathers was Aleister mentor in the Golden Dawn and one of the founders of the organization, he saw brilliance in Crowley and invited him to the cabal, Aleister performed a summoning ceremony which astonished both Mathers and Westcott. Although this all changed when Aleister heard of his future daughter death at the hands of magic and phases from his friend Allan Bennett, Aleister sought out to destroy the cabal, cursing the founder and its members, he pit them against each other and manipulated them. Mathers was angered by Aleister rebellion. Although dead, Mathers left a legacy behind that would haunt Aleister forever; the summoning of the Great Demon Coronzon and gave it a single command; to pretend to have been summoned by Aleister Crowley and then guide him to ruin.
- William Wynn Westcott - Former associate. A member of the Golden Dawn who disliked Aleister joining the cabal, while although he was impressed with Aleister talents, he eventually died when Aleister cursed the entire Golden Dawn, Aleister killed him with the Blythe Road's Treasure.
- Yuiitsu Kihara - Yuiitsu despises Aleister and hates it when her teacher Noukan contacts Aleister, she wishes to get revenge on Aleister for him ruining her plans and for him using the Archetype Controller.
- All Magic Gods - Sworn enemies. The Magic Gods played a huge role in Lilith's death which is the main reason that Aleister despises Magic Gods to the point that when he was given the chance to become one he refused to, wanting to remain as a human. Aleister encountered the Magic Gods in the Hidden World, there he weakened them, and much later with the help of Noukan he killed the High Priest.
- Anna Sprengel - Anna Sprengel actions on Academy City as a whole and her actions in Los Angeles proved dangerous enough for Aleister to take action, first to reanimate the corpse of Anna Kingsford to deal with Anna Sprengel, and then interrogate the wicked magician, although Aleister wanted her killed to avoid her making even more trouble in the city.
- CRC † - A maniacal magician who seeks destruction, he was summoned by the Bridge Builders Cabal in order for them to be their messiah but instead he turns on them and later meets Aleister group, he fought Anna Kingsford and after "killing" her, Aleister was saddened. Much later he fought CRC in Heaven Canceller hospital and shifted phases in order to avoid damage to the hospital but CRC overpowered him, he finally fought him one last time again but this time with Touma by his side, in which he called upon Coronzon for help.
