Biography[]
Kodoroff is a Russian general who was born from Soviet officers. After the fall of the Soviet Union, he has been accused of multiple infractions, such as corruption or drunken driving. He also has a Finnish mistress named Lena. Before the movie, he was a St. Petersburgh, doing a nationalist speech.
In the movie proper, Kodoroff comes to visit a nuclear facility in the Ural Mountains, which is dismantled. Inspecting the troops stationed here, he stops at one of them and asks if everything is ready. The soldiers answers yes. Wishing him good luck, Kodoroff leaves.
The soldier boards a train with his companions, which leaves the plant. In reality, he had plotted with Kodoroff to allow him access to the train. The latter uses a second train to get his troops on board the first one. His men then shot all the passengers of the first train, who were asleep. Kodoroff puts a nuclear bomb inside the assaulted train and rerails it. He then hides his train in a tunnel. The traitorous soldier begins to have doubts on the plan, but Kodoroff tries to calm him down, saying he must be strong. The soldier says he doesn’t think he can, therefore Kodoroff shoots him. The rogue train runs onto a passenger train and the nuclear bomb explodes, making a total of 15,000 victims.
Kodoroff exits the tunnel and is joined by a truck. The driver criticizes him for having detonated a bomb. The general assures it was to allow them to gain some time. He then get paid. Since the driver continues to criticize him, Kodoroff reminds him that this is his operation and that he may well get rid of him if he continues to be troublesome. The driver fears that the paramedics won't let them through, but Kodoroff has planned ahead, disguising the truck as an emergency vehicle. Because of this, they manage to get a Russian army convoy to let them pass unhindered.
Kodoroff’s destination is Azerbaidjan. Unfortunately for him, he is blocked by many refugees. He furiously honks as them and tells Vlado he hates them because of their poverty. He then has a call of Lieutenant Tom Devoe. The American tells him about Operation Desert Storm, where recordings were made of missiles hitting their targets and tells him that he will also be "recorded". This scares Kodoroff who passes the refugee trucks, allowing Devoe to note the corrupt general's license plate.
Kodoroff arrives at a military road check. The guard asks him to get off the truck so that he can be inspected. Kodoroff shows him his military papers and says that he has a special authorization. The guard insists that he get out anyway. Kodoroff then asks for the name and superiors of the military guard. The latter resigns himself to let them pass, but while going along the truck, he hears coughs. He stops the truck and orders Kodoroff to get out of the vehicle. The Russian general pretends to accept, but instead takes his rifle and shoots him in the head. He and his men start a firefight and kill all the soldiers stationed at the checkpoint.
Getting impatient, Kodoroff goes to the back of his truck to see if the nuclear weapon is well assembled. Seeing Waldo and the engineer still working on the weapon, he asks them what they are doing. Valdo answers that the nuclear weapon is modified so that it is mobile. Kodoroff immediately takes out his gun and says that they will do what they want with the weapon as soon as he gets his money. = At the same time, the vehicle is attacked by a military helicopter led by Devoe. The lieutenant goes down in the truck and fights physically with Kodoroff. But the Russian manages to put the helicopter's rope around his neck and sends him up in the air to die hanging. Devoe takes out his knife, cuts the rope and falls back into the truck. Kodoroff attacks him again. However, he is stabbed in the foot by Devoe and shot by the helicopter pilot. Devoe asks him who he wants to deliver the nuclear material to. Kodoroff insults him in response. Devoe leaves him to die in the truck, which falls into a cliff.
