Alex Forbes is the lead character in the 2006 horror/thriller film Like Minds.
He was portrayed by Eddie Redmayne, , who also played Osmund in Black Death, Balem Abrasax in Jupiter Ascending, Charles Cullen in The Good Nurse, and The Jackal in 2024 television series, The Day of the Jackal.
Alex is the roommate of fellow private school student Nigel Colbie.
He was blamed for the death of Nigel and brought in for questioning from a criminal psychologist, Sally Rowe. After a while, it is revealed through flashbacks that Alex was not responsible for Nigel's death, and that it was instead a suicide in which Alex was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Alex was responsible for the death of Nigel Colbie's father, however, as after realizing that Nigel was quite the dangerous maniac, tried to use a shotgun in self-defense against Nigel, and accidentally shot Nigel's father instead.
In flashbacks, it was revealed that Alex was roped into Nigel's strange obsession with the Knights of Templar, through a series of mind games and secrets.
Nicknamed Jack by Nigel, this name was based on the Jack from a deck of cards, which is used as a sort of symbol or calling card of him and Nigel.
