Alex Le Domas is the main antagonist of the black comedy horror film, Ready or Not.
He's the husband of Grace Le Domas, who is the main protagonist. He was estranged from his family for years, and finally decides to come back to his family's estate with Grace for their marriage. When she pulls the "Hide-and-Seek" card and hides, he goes and finds her. Once she witnesses one of the waiters die on accident, he reveals that the card was the only card that results in the family trying to kill Grace.
He's portrayed by Mark O'Brien, who's best known for his role as Des Courtney in Republic of Doyle.
Personality[]
He's shown to be apathetic and genuine first, choosing to sit out on the game so he can help Grace survive and try to get out. He was also reluctant to hunt her down at first, even breaking security monitors before he got restrained. Although, even when considering his evident loyalty to Grace, he showed a despicably selfish manner, since he withheld the potential risk of Hide and Seek being picked, and tried to deflect blame by pointing out that she wanted to get married in the first place, although jitterishly back-pedaled when his attempt to shift responsibility onto her made her angry.
He had the ability to form attachments, but when doing so, it would become unhealthily strong; he became dependent on his brother, Daniel, but fled the family due to struggles with his conscience, and thus found a new attachment with Grace; but this was revealed to be a potentially psychotic attachment, since when his mother, Becky, attempted to comfort him about the planned execution of Grace, her threatened to kill her if his wife died.
After finding Daniel's body, and realizing that Grace would probably no longer be with him after this whole event, he understood that he no longer had his most cherished attachments, thus his desperation for connection drove him to turn even more sinister, as his only apparent option for company was now his family, thus he tries to sacrifice her as the rest of the surviving family helps. Another reason was likely a selfish desire to preserve his own life at any cost, which was further proven when the tables turned again.
After realizing that the curse is real when the family explodes into pieces, he begs for her forgiveness, trying to manipulate her into taking him back for a possible chance of survival, showing his cowardice. He also shows himself to be a hypocrite because when Grace rejected him for his selfishness, he blatantly stated that he is not like his family and he didn't care about the fact that he almost sacrificed Grace to ensure that he escaped the curse.
Biography[]
As a child, he participated in a different Hide and Seek game with his brother, Daniel. Helene's husband, Charles, was the hider and he got shot by a crossbow before getting escorted away to be sacrificed. 30 years later, he comes to the family with his newly wed, Grace. It's revealed that he was estranged from his family for 2 years, but he came back for his and Grace's marriage. When Grace pulls the card and it's shown to be Hide and Seek, he has a visible look of discomfort and fear on his face, along with the rest of the family. He decides to sit out, and therefore is the only Le Domas who doesn't get armed with a weapon of any sort. He's able to find Grace first and hide her as they witness a maid get shot and killed by accident. When the cover's clear, he reveals that the Hide and Seek card is basically a death game, and it's the only deadly card she could've pulled. It's a game where the whole family has to kill the bride before sunrise, or the whole family will die. He shows some of his true nature and selfishness by telling Grace that he didn't tell her beforehand out of fear that she would leave.

~ Alex |
He directs her to the service tunnel down the kitchen, while he goes to the security room. He has planned on turning off all of the security so that all the doors can unlock and she can escape the mansion. After a while, he's finally able to unlock the doors while Grace is in the kitchen with Stevens. He then proceeds to smash all of the security cameras and equipment in the room before his Dad comes in, and they get into a fight. After it, he wakes up handcuffed to the bed by his Dad, in an effort to prevent any more help. After a small talk with his mother, he escapes, only to discover his brother bleeding from a gunshot wound his wife shot at him in an attempt to kill Grace. He holds Daniel in his arms as he bleeds to death, not able to do anything about it. He leaves and finds Grace, murdering Becky out of self defense with Le Bail's box. Even though she doesn't directly say it, he senses that she doesn't want to be with him after this. So he holds her against her will and calls for his family, betraying her.
As the family holds Grace down, trying to do the ritual as quickly as possible, he attempts to stab Grace in the chest with it to complete the ritual. Grace is able to get loose enough to take the stab to the shoulder and stay alive until sunrise. As the rest of the family explodes, he's the last one to go. He pleads for Grace to stay with him, to which she responds by throwing her wedding ring at him before he implodes.
