Dr. Alexander Monroe is the main antagonist of the 2020 film Promising Young Woman. He is a young man who raped Nina Fisher.
He was portrayed by Chris Lowell.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
When he was at school Alexander Monroe raped and assaulted Nina Fisher, but by the help of a unethical lawyer, he got away with it. Alexander later became a doctor and met Anastasia.
Promising Young Woman[]
Upon learning Alexander Monroe is getting married, Cassie, the main protagonist of the film. decides to take revenge on people who wronged Nina. Heading to Alexander's bachelor party near the end of the film, she handcuffs him to a bed and tries to mutilate him, but Alexander overpowers her. Upon killing her, Alexander burns and hides her body with his friend, Joe.
Later, the police find Cassie's body and arrests Alexander for murder, during his wedding with Anastasia.
Personality[]
Despite his seemingly nice and kind facade, Alexander Monroe is a cruel man who lacks any sympathy for those he wrongs (believing that he can do no wrong), displays sexual deviance, and is a general man-child.
