Alfred Alfer is the titular main villainous protagonist of the Alfred Alfer cartoons created by controversial Newgrounds animator Emily Youcis.
He is a traumatised, mentally ill pitbull-mixed dog who regularly struggles with his multiple personalities and lack of love in his life, which leads him down a path of violence, drugs, self harm and horrific sex acts.
He is voiced by series' creator Emily Youcis, who also voiced Labby in The Alfred Alfer Movie and Phat Dawg in Alfred Alfer and Phat Dawg.
Appearance[]
Originally, Alfred was a dopey, floppy, skinny cartoon dog of moderate height with a thousand yard stare, tan fur, a slightly lighter tan-coloured round belly, a long snout with sharp teeth and a dark purple nose, and small paws, and (occasionally) a disgusting infected open wound on his leg. As Emily Youcis improved in her animation skills, Alfred became more expressive with exaggerated expressions of euphoria, fear, lust or fatigue based on the respective emotions he was feeling. He speaks and sings with a high-pitched, girly voice.
Throughout his appearances, Alfred is seen wearing multiple outfits based on his current profession, situation or personality. He's seen wearing a purple uniform as the manager of Burritobell, a yellow plate on his head as the reincarnation of Christ, a pimp outfit in Alfred Destroys Buildings and Boomerang (AMV), a dictator outfit as Dictator Alfred/Pickles, a schoolgirl outfit when he cuts himself, a punk outfit in G.G. Alfred, so on and so forth.
When he becomes god of the right-wing internet, he's depicted sickly and tired, almost undead, nailed to a cross with an electric chair headpiece on his head and several green pulsing wires protruding from his veins.
In his original incarnation as "Shizzle", the sidekick of Phat Dawg, he appeared slightly more dog-like and simple, and less insane, with brown fur and a grey fur on his belly and feet.
In Alfred's cameo the 2012 animated horror anthology film Where The Dead Go To Die, he appeared in his first 3D depiction, with a lazy cross-eye that moved around constantly and more of a southern American accent.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Not much is shown about Alfred's life, but from what can be inferred from dialogue and visual implications, his parents treated him horribly, attempting to kill him and abandon him, and eventually succeeding in abandoning him on his first birthday. After this, Alfred was adopted into a family consisting of a middle-aged balding man with glasses, an unseen woman and an unseen little girl.
At some point during Alfred's early years, this family was separated, and Alfred was left in the care of the bald man. This man would abuse and molest him so much that he would become severely triggered at the mention of the word "popsicle" and develop an alternate personality named "Pickles", who was forced to endure all the abuse from his caretakers. During this time, Alfred would also become obsessed with controversial political figures from years past, which would lead to him referring to his rapist as "Lavrenti Beria" (A soviet politician and vicious rapist who resembled Alfred's rapist), and his alternate personality developing a "dictator" aesthetic.
Sometime later, Alfred got a job at a fast food restaurant chain called Burritobell, and was eventually promoted to manager after the establishment couldn't find a better replacement for the current one.
Newgrounds Animations[]
Alfred and his many personalities appear across multiple animations by animator Emily Youcis, but only a few of them appear to be connected to a wider narrative:
Rise of Alfred[]
Rise of Alfred begins with Alfred zoning out as his boss speaks to him. His boss tells him that he has been promoted to manager, to which Alfred begins to zone out again, his fragile mind confusing the terms "manager" and "dictator". He's reminded of his past, where he was abandoned by his parents, and his other pathetic attempts at trying to at least feel some form of love, such as observing a couple having sex through their window or having sex with a watermelon at the market. Alfred assumes that with his new position, he will be loved unconditionally and mindlessly worshipped by his employees, and gets incredibly excited.
He excitedly introduces himself to his new underlings (who are all also talking cartoon dogs, just like him), immediately demanding that they love him and refer to him as "Dictator Alfred", and that they learn a new song all about how superior, cool and perfect Alfred is, which he begins to play on his karaoke machine, revealing all his insecurities, and also revealing that Alfred's intentions with his employees are of a somewhat sexual nature, as well as a violent one. Alfred slurs and yells and dances to the lyrics, eventually devolving into screaming the word "me" over and over.
The scene abruptly cuts to Alfred's office, where he talks to himself about his preference of burritos over burgers, which is the first appearance of Dictator Pickles. He then orders 200 hamburgers and destroys them in a manic frenzy, while also shooting a Ronald McDonald statue outside of a McDonald's. During this montage, the ghost of Hitler is shown condoning Alfred's actions and masturbating while he sets bagels on fire.
Afterwards, in a brief sequence, Alfred is shown putting up food posters around Burritobell after-hours, but then he decides to replace them with propaganda posters making Alfred out to be the source of all good in the universe.
The next day, Alfred is in his office, curled up in the corner, repeating the phrase "I am loved" to himself, when Dictator Pickles begins to talk to him once more, angrily telling Alfred that the employees are conspiring against him and planning to kill him. Alfred argues with his alter ego (along with the spirit of Hitler and Stalin) for a few minutes, stressing that he doesn't want to kill his employees because "they can't love him if they're dead". Eventually, an employee who is oblivious to Alfred's current breakdown enters the room and begins asking him about work. This, coupled with Pickles, Hitler and Stalin egging him on and the employee's ringtone, eventually causes Alfred to snap and murder the dog who was speaking to him, shoving a squeeze-bottle of white liquid (perhaps mayonnaise or glue) through the bottom of his jaw and through his eye.
The final scene shows Alfred sitting in the bloodied and mangled remains of the rest of Burritobell's workers, crying. He laments that there's nobody left to love him, but almost immediately finds euphoric solace and power in the fact that nobody's left but him. The short ends with Alfred happily dancing with Stalin and Hitler.
Alfred's Playhouse[]
Alfred's Playhouse takes place over the course of three parts.
Part 1[]
Part 1 begins with a disturbing opening sequence, a theme song about Alfred's Playhouse. Alfred immediately makes it known that the playhouse is an imaginary world of wonder he created in his head to escape real life whenever it became too much for him to handle, showing his mind turning traumatising abuse into fun, childish escapades (i.e., Alfred being forced to give an off-screen figure a handjob becoming an exciting space adventure in a UFO controlled by a joystick). In the song, he describes how he wakes up in a bed full of blood, how he's "violated by Steve Martin in his sleep" and "a man-child who is coping with being unsuccessfully aborted", how he has "electrical wiring for his luncheon", and that he needs to buy new peas as the current ones in the freezer are rancid, among other things.
The opening sequence ends, and the next scene begins with Alfred toddling around his house aimlessly, talking to an imaginary audience, repeating many of the same words over and over again. Eventually he starts talking about a secret word, one of which everyone is expected to scream when they hear. He reveals the word is "popsicle", which triggers a flashback.
His flashback involves Alfred sitting in front of the TV when he's approached by a tall shadowy figure, which is implied to be his caretaker. They ask him if he'd like a popsicle, which Alfred likes the sound of, and reaches out to grab the popsicle. The figure holds it out of his reach and tells him to face the TV, then sodomises Alfred, telling him "Here comes the popsicle".
Alfred snaps back to the present and begins to scream in agony and horror, while the playhouse friends celebrate and the word "POPSICLE!" flashes on the screen. Alfred goes on to wander around the house like before, albeit visibly and audibly much more stressed, repeating meaningless phrases to himself. Outside, the mailman arrives to deliver a package to Alfred's house when Alfred flings the door open and grabs his hand, pulling him into the house and continuing to repeat the same phrases, along with the sentence "Look, children! It's the Candyman!", in reference to the mailman. The mailman looks around the dilapidated and messy house, along with the insane talking dog in front of him, and assumes he's in danger, emptying his pockets and giving all his valuables to Alfred while crying.
A sequence begins where Alfred and the imagined Candyman begin playing a duet of "Benny and the Jets" by Elton John, but eventually it cuts back to reality, with Alfred still repeating himself and the mailman still crying, implying that most of Alfred's delusions, from an outside perspective, consist of Alfred nonsensically, meaninglessly, mindlessly rambling about nothing. The first part then ends.
Part 2[]
Part 2 begins with Alfred kneeling next to the wall and enthusiastically talking to the audience about his secret: There are little mice people living in his walls. He beckons them out and the mice people in question emerge, crawling all over Alfred, tickling him and having fun. After a few seconds, though, Alfred becomes overwhelmed by the mice people, whose playing gets progressively rougher and more disgusting, as they start having sex with each other, touching Alfred's private parts and throwing up on each other, which also results in Alfred also throwing up. The overstimulation becomes too much for Alfred, who emerges from his delusion, screaming and crying, running around the house. The mailman from Part 1 is now tied to the wall with the aforementioned electrical wiring, crying in fear as Alfred breaks down in the background.
Eventually, Alfred recovers from his meltdown and talks to the audience again, talking about how much he wants hugs and love, and above all, pity. He then becomes aloof and childish, describing his intentions to mutilate his leg with the enthusiasm of a little kid. He goes to the bathroom and retrieves the "CUTTING BOX", which is filled with all sorts of tools and objects that Alfred uses to self-harm.
A long, grotesque sequence of Alfred self-harming starts to play, where he abuses his already damaged, infected leg, plucking away at the flesh with tweezers, making the wound deeper with a razor, shoving crayons into the wound and stapling them with a stapler, among other things.
The second part ends with Alfred lying on the floor of his bathroom, covered in blood and surrounded by the objects from his cutting box.
Part 3[]
The third and final part begins with Alfred slowly falling through the air in a dream realm, talking to himself, pitying himself and his lack of love. He then lands in a bed and is tucked in by his playhouse friends, which he says are the only people who love him.
The scene quickly switches up, though, as Alfred finds himself bound to the bed, unable to move, his rear in the air and completely vulnerable. His playhouse friends begin to morph into sexualised, deviant versions of themselves, and begin to ascend upon Alfred to sodomise him while "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin plays.
Suddenly, right as he's about to be penetrated, Dictator Pickles appears and tells Alfred (who is now instead tied to a chair) that he "wasn't supposed to see that". He tells Alfred that going to the playhouse won't help him, since Alfred is getting tired of blocking out the world around him, and that "he's going to get sodomised either way". He tells Alfred that the playhouse is his way of escaping his life to "prevent him from doing very bad things" (which doesn't seem to have worked, considering the events of the previous parts). He then explains that the popsicle memory is something that Alfred DID experience, and then breaks down as he explains that Alfred doesn't remember it because Dictator Pickles experienced it instead while Alfred retreated into his mind to the playhouse.
Dictator Pickles tells him that to truly escape his problems, Alfred needs to fully disassociate into the playhouse and let Dictator Pickles take over. He offers Alfred a dog treat in exchange, which Alfred takes. Dictator Pickles unties Alfred and begins to scratch his head, which Alfred enjoys. Alfred lies down on his back, and as Dictator Pickles scratches his tummy with his foot, he glances at a mirror and sees himself for who he truly is: A desperate, pathetic, weak animal who is loved by nobody. Alfred doesn't care, though, and savours the few seconds of affection given by Pickles - the only care and love he is ever given by anyone, throughout all of his appearances.
Alfred is completely consumed by the playhouse while Dictator Pickles fully takes over Alfred. He stands up, stares at the starving, bound mailman, and grins maniacally, with the implication being that Dictator Pickles plans to murder him (which is confirmed in Return To The Clubhouse, along with a high chance of Alfred later violating his corpse, judging by Alfred's gradual decline by the events of The Alfred Alfer Movie.)
The third part ends with Alfred euphorically flying through a magical pink sky with green clouds while fun, adventurous music plays.
American Alfer[]
This American Psycho parody is technically the only Alfred animation that doesn't feature Alfred, or at least is the only Alfred animation that doesn't feature Alfred in control of his body. It features Dictator Pickles after taking over Alfred's body, filming himself having sex with dead people and singing an Alfred cover of Sussudio. He dances around the bathroom to the upbeat pop music, while the mutilated, violated corpses of several people, including Pickles The Drummer and Mr. Pickles (both who coincidentally share a name with Dictator Pickles). This animation is said to be the teaser for The Alfred Alfer Movie, despite being uploaded to Newgrounds a full year after Alfred's Big Surprise.
The Alfred Alfer Movie[]
The Alfred Alfer Movie, while being considered by Emily Youcis to be a movie, was more of a five-part series with several separate interval segments, with one part even having an intro sequence called "ALFRED ALFER PRESENTS" (referencing Alfred Hitchcock Presents). Emily stated that once all segments were completed and uploaded, it would be uploaded in full "to the internet", but it's unknown where it was uploaded, if at all. It takes place in Alfred's mind after the events of Alfred's Playhouse, with Alfred struggling with the demons of his past and new problematic alter personalities. The movie's five main segments were released over the course of three years, from 2013 to 2016:
Alfred's Big Surprise[]
Alfred seems to still be living within his mind, sitting in the backseat of a black-and-white striped car with burning bodies in the trunk, driven by a tall, dark, scary dog named Labby, who is strongly implied to be Alfred's lover. Alfred appears to be in his childish schoolgirl persona, laughing, having fun, and making out with Labby as they sing "There Must Be Something More Than This".
Labby drives into a desert known as "WHERE THE DEAD GO TO DIE" (Also the name of the film of Labby's original debut) and asks Alfred if he's ready for his surprise. Alfred, ecstatic, says yes and jumps out of the car, only to be abandoned by Labby, who laughs at him, calls him a bitch and tells him that he'll see him in hell while he drives away.
Distraught and heartbroken, Alfred wanders through the desert, until he finally collapses, rolling down a hill and landing on a watermelon, which he begins to dry hump while crying. The watermelon is, in fact, not a watermelon though, as it comes to life and reveals itself to be a large green hippo-like monster with a Fat-Albert-adjacent voice, and begins drunkenly berating Alfred.
Alfred sits down and woefully vents to the watermelon hippo, who tries to comfort him, telling telling Alfred that he'll find someone else, to which Alfred responds, "Not like him", indicating that Alfred had a deep connection with Labby, in his eyes at least. The watermelon hippo suggests Alfred tries using alcohol to cope with his problems, then tells him to either give him oral sex or go away.
Alfred sadly walks away, until hallucinating Labby before him. Overjoyed, he calls out and runs towards Labby, until the mirage disappears and Alfred hurts his paws and tongue on a barbed wire fence. Feeling defeated, he gives up and walks off.
A narrator is heard telling the audience that Alfred will never, ever, find love, before it's revealed to be Dictator Pickles, resting on top of an abandoned building overlooking where Alfred is standing. He then sadistically calls out to Alfred, making fun of him and telling him to return to the playhouse.
Dead Girl Strip Club[]
Alfred heads to a strip club called "Where The Dead Go To Drink" (which, fitting with the name of the strip club and the title of this segment of the movie, is inhabited by dead people) and sits down at the counter while the disgusting corpse singers wail and scream in agony on the stage.
As Alfred begins to drink, a shadowy figure behind the scenes begins to mess with the electrical wiring of the building, causing the corpses on stage to start singing and dancing much faster. This leads to Alfred singing along and dancing with the other inhabitants of the club, having sex with a skeleton at one point, before he falls back into a depressed state, remembering Labby's abandonment of him when he's reminded of him by his shadow and two shots of red liquid, resembling his dark form and red eyes.
A random corpse puts a revolver on the table in front of Alfred. Labby seems to manifest himself the form of the shadows and shots, telling Alfred that "he should have been taken out back and shot". Alfred picks up the revolver and gets ready to shoot himself until the shadowy figure screws with the electrical once more, prompting a decaying (albeit conventionally attractive) corpse of a stripper to come out onto the stage.
Alfred immediately notices the stripper in the bar's mirror and falls in love right away, halting his suicide. The shadowy figure, who is now masturbating, turns the electricity up to the max, causing a light above Alfred's head to shatter and resemble the headpiece of an electric chair (foreshadowing the end of the film) and also causes the stripper to violently convulse.
As more decaying strippers appear on stage, Alfred joins them and tries to have his way with them, until the electricity becomes too much for the corpses and begins melting their skin, showing their bones and maggots. Alfred, disgusted, has second thoughts about his intentions, but it's too late. The strippers force themselves on Alfred.
Alfred wakes up the next morning in the club surrounded by all the violated dead bodies at the club, screaming in terror at what he sees before him, as well as the maggots on his private area. He's terrified, but then begins to switch to an alter named Lucifer, who is very pleased at all the dead bodies he sees around him. He grabs a bunch of body parts, stuffs them into a garbage bag, and heads off on his merry way.
G.G. Alfred[]
G.G. Alfred mostly consists of Lucifer singing a cover of G.G. Allin's "Fuck The Dead" by Emily Pukis and the Vagrants (The rock band of Emily Youcis) while he has sexual intercourse with dead bodies, violating the abundance of dead, mutilated, rotting, maggot-filled limbs scattered throughout the land of Where The Dead Go To Die. For a second, he's seen sitting in his bed next to a corpse, caressing it lovingly and asking it to promise him that it'll never leave him, implying that Alfred's isolation and neglect has affected him so much that he genuinely seems to see dead bodies as his only true friends.
This sequence ends with a goofy low-quality animation of Alfred retreating to the playhouse in a similar manner to the mailman from Alfred's Playhouse. The animation goes back to normal when Alfred enters the house, revealing the decaying corpse of said mailman, riddled with maggots, much like many of the other corpses Alfred came across. Whether Alfred had his way with it or not is left ambiguous.
Return To The Playhouse[]
Alfred, exhausted by a big day of necrophilia, goes to the only place he knows - the playhouse. He arrives with his big bag of bodies and walks throughout his past, with all his toys and the man on the TV degrading him and his haircut, and demanding he kill himself.
Eventually, the TV switches to Dictator Pickles, who manifests himself as a program called "The Dictator Alfred Show", featuring the Burritobell employees, resurrected in the confines of the show as an army of mindless drones, mindlessly saluting and chanting Alfred's name in a similar fashion to Alfred's delusions at the start of Rise of Alfred. Pickles thanks the audience and then kills them, blowing their heads off with a snap of his fingers. Pickles makes fun of Alfred for his necrophilia fetish and tells him that his horrible life full of sexual abuse, abandonment, neglect and despair is all just a big silly cartoon for the people at home to watch, showing Alfred the people beyond the fourth wall, revealing that someone out there - many somebodies, in fact - has an interest in Alfred. A pair of wires hook up to Alfred and electrocute him until he passes out.
Alfred, now without his Lucifer costume, wakes up later on, refreshed, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. His moment of serene morning bliss is short-lived, though, as Labby appears in his living room.
He tells Alfred to take the bag of bodies to the basement and threatens him with "the popsicle" if he doesn't, implying that Labby is actually a manifestation of all the trauma and abuse that Alfred had endured throughout his entire life, and perhaps an apparition of his abusers. This prompts an insane wacky sequence of the Playhouse friends screaming, referencing Alfred's Playhouse. Alfred grabs the bag and pathetically army-crawls towards the basement until he is ambushed by the mouse people from Alfred's Playhouse - Part 2, who begin crawling all over Alfred just like in their initial appearance, having disgusting poopoo-peepee sex with each other and Alfred. A strange Pinocchio doll (who isn't seen at all throughout any Alfred animations up until this exact point in the movie) grabs Alfred and begins sodomising him with his nose. This segment of the film ends with Labby closing in on Alfred with the popsicle as Alfred is violated by his playhouse friends.
Alfred's Ascent[]
The final part of the Alfred Alfer movie begins with shots of the playhouse's interior, showing references to Rise Of Alfred among other things. The camera then zooms down into the basement, where Alfred has plugged himself into the internet, sitting in an electric chair with heaps of cords sticking out of his veins and connected to several bright monitors surviving off an IV drip and urinating into a skull. Alfred looks at all his internet worshippers online, as they post praise and lewd fanart of Alfred, who is ecstatic.
A message appears on Alfred's screen from a cyberbully, reading "ALFRED ALFER FUCKING SUCKS ASS LOL!!!", to which Alfred pushes a button, launching several virtual bombs to the cyberbully's laptop, causing it to explode and kill the person who sent the message. He then types "Alfred Alfer does NOT suck ass", presses "send" and cheers joyfully. A newspaper headline is shown documenting a recent enigmatic case of exploding laptops, indicating that Alfred has done this several times over at this point, enough for it to make the news.
Alfred transports his consciousness into the internet, where he seems to merge with Dictator Pickles, and many of his fans (mostly right-wing nazi symbols) greet him enthusiastically, crowning him king of the virtual realm. He's worshipped like a dictator, blowing up all who oppose him, until eventually, people begin to rebel, and Alfred is threatened by an army of cyberterrorists.
Alfred appears to be backed into a corner until a hooded figure resembling a Matrix-code Pepe the Frog pulls a lever, turning Alfred's power levels up to the max, making him a god. However, the overload of power erodes the wiring in Alfred's house, which starts a fire and burns everything to the ground, including all evidence of Alfred's existence and eventually Alfred's body, which gets completely sucked into the computer along with his mind.
In the computer, Alfred is saved by Donald Trump, who is portrayed as a superhero. He grabs Alfred and flies him into the sky, and together they rule over the internet (And, by extension, with their ability to murder people by causing any device with internet access to explode, the whole world) as gods forever, all-powerful and worshipped like the heavenly father, with Alfred literally manifesting himself as a corpse on the cross in the final scene of the film.
Fate[]
In the end, Alfred was given the status of god, renowned and revered by all, but whether this is real or all within Alfred's mind, or how his warped mind perceives his final moments as he burns to a crisp, or succumbs to hunger or his newly gathered STDs, he never got the one thing he needed: personal, genuine love and care from another living being. As a result, he became a tragic tyrannical monster, worshipped by those who only know hate and spite, ruling over the ruins of the world from his pixelated immortality, the consequences of the abuse and neglect he received, forever, never knowing true love.
Alfred and Phat Dawg[]
Before his descent into insanity and villainy, Alfred appeared in a few shorts revolving around the misadventures of him and his best friend Phat Dawg, getting up to (mostly) harmless mischief and butting heads with each other.
Osama Gets Low[]
Osama Gets Low is Emily's very first Newgrounds upload, a music video featuring Phat Dawg, Alfred (named "Shizzle" at the time) and an unnamed third dog, along with several pop-culture celebrities and other relevant people at the time, all singing "Get Low". There doesn't seem to be a visible plot outside of the three dogs doing drugs and getting up to mischief, but the description describes it as Phat Dawg and Co. taking the viewers "down the toilet on a journey through pop culture land".
Alfred Alfer and Phat Dawg, unreleased animation by Emily Youcis[]
The animation begins with Alfred and Phat Dawg exploring the one dollar store, bewildered by the low prices of all the items. They eventually run across a laser pointer and excitedly go to pay for it, commencing a brief sequence of Alfred getting angry at the foreign cashier for his accent preventing Alfred from understanding what he's saying.
Alfred and Phat Dawg perch themselves on top of a building with their new laser pointer. Phat Dawg uses a pair of binoculars to search for someone to torment while Alfred shines the laser in his eyes and on his genitals. Phat Dawg decides upon a large man minding his own business in his apartment and snatches the pointer from Alfred, aiming it at the man. The man immediately assumes he's about to be shot and begins eating as much food as he can before he dies, which results in him choking and dying, much to the amusement of the dogs. They then aim the pointer into the apartment of a cat lady watching the ugly sweater shopping channel with her cats. The laser riles up the cats, which results in them tearing the lady to shreds. The lady reaches for the phone, presumably to call for help, but instead orders the ugly sweater she saw on TV.
Afterwards, Alfred and Phat Dawg go home and play with the pointer in a brief sequence, sitting on beanbags and laughing like stoners, treating the pointer like a blunt.
The dogs then go to a convenience store where a man is being arrested for unknown reasons. They aim the pointer at the convict and poke fun at him, Phat Dawg calling him gay and Alfred repeatedly calling him a loser. A policeman sees them and tells them that he's going to confiscate their pointer, which Alfred ignores and offers the officer five dollars for him to tase Alfred. The policeman ignores this and confiscates the pointer like he promised. The short then seems to end.
Alfred Gets Fixed[]
This is the first animated short where Alfred is referred to as Alfred, and has "Chariots Of Fire" playing over it. It begins with Alfred strapped to an operating table in a hospital, about to be castrated, when he decides to defy his fate, breaking free of his bonds and stabbing the doctor with a needle. He leaps off the table and runs through the hospital with Phat Dawg and many of the hospital patients cheering him on. He eventually comes upon a window to a field with vast, sprawling hills covered in flowers and green grass underneath a beautiful sunset. He leaps from the window and it's revealed that the landscape in front of him is simply a billboard across the street, and Alfred falls a dozen floors to his death on the street below.
Perpetual Limbo of room[]
Alfred and Phat Dawg sit in the house from Alfred's Playhouse, with Alfred excitedly looking around the room, rocking back and forth, and Phat Dawg smoking weed while commercials play on the TV, getting progressively weirder while the video goes on. Alfred then attempts to leave, stating that he's going to "Rent The Sound Of Music for him and his best friend Phat Dawg", only to find out that by some weird phenomenon, he can't, and that he's stuck in the room forever.
This is the first appearance of the "Playhouse", and the last official appearance of Phat Dawg, who disappears afterward, only appearing again in 2009 in Father Oceania as "Black Person Alfred" and in an unreleased animation made in 2005 called Alfred's StoryofChristmas before disappearing again forever.
Alfred's StoryofChristmas[]
Alfred and Phat Dawg are spending Christmas together when Alfred tries to tell Phat Dawg his own distorted rendition of the Story of Christmas, which Phat Dawg doesn't want to hear about, but ultimately reluctantly agrees.
Alfred starts to tell his own rendition of A Visit from St. Nicholas, which Phat Dawg shuts down immediately when Alfred begins talking about his porn-addicted older brother. Alfred then tries to tell his own version of A Christmas Carol where Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Present, Past and Future all get high with Bob Marley.
Alfred is ultimately set on the right track by Phat Dawg, and finally starts stumbling through the Story of Christmas. When Alfred tells the story of Mary's impregnation, Phat Dawg notices that all the characters are played by him and Alfred, and questions why this is, with Alfred sadly stating that he doesn't know anybody else. When he starts to talk about Jesus's birth, the camera pans away before he can finish talking, which angers him.
Alfred tells the story of how Mary took Joseph to the Maurey Show and admitted that baby Jesus might not be Joseph's kid, which angers Joseph greatly as he's currently paying child support for the kid. Maurey reveals that God is the father of Jesus, to which Joseph gets up and dances to, and God is distraught. Phat Dawg criticises Alfred and tells him that Maurey and his show didn't exist two thousand years ago, which Alfred acknowledges and casually mentions that "It had been so long since he was there", much to Phat Dawg's confusion.
Alfred then goes on to start telling the story of Noah's Ark right in the middle of Mary and Joseph going to Bethlehem to give birth to Jesus, which prompts anger from Phat Dawg. Alfred then snaps at Phat Dawg and threatens to cry, to which Phat Dawg backs down and lets him continue. Alfred then speeds through the story of Noah's Ark, Moses and the Red Sea, the Lion's Den, and David and Goliath, before the story eventually spirals out into a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk, and then Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Phat Dawg cuts Alfred off and threatens to crap under the Christmas tree if he doesn't get to the birth of Jesus soon, which horrifies Alfred. Alfred tells the story of Moses (the Jewish one) goes on an acid trip and starts talking to 43rd President of the United States, George Bush, who takes on the form of a burning bush. Then Jesus is born, and an afterparty is thrown, with all of God's friends attending - The Tooth Fairy, The Easter Bunny, Chewbacca, Fidel Castra and Buddha, just to name a few. He then begins to tell the story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer until Phat Dawg tries to tell of Alfred for his inaccurate retelling again, but then collapses, completely drunk. Alfred finishes telling the story of Christmas, and saying that "Jesus will go down and history".
Buddha is then shown flying through the sky on Santa's sleigh, which is being pulled by Fidel Castra. Alfred recalls his teacher telling him that "Every time a bell rings, a teenage girl in America gets pregnant". Alfred then tells the audience to practise safe sex while Phat Dawg throws up on the floor, bringing the short to a close.
Other animations[]
Alfred appears in several other animations which seem to have no connection to the main Alfred Alfer story.
Jesus Christ Porn Star[]
Alfred is kidnapped by a porn star version of Paul Thomas from Jesus Christ Superstar and taken back to his "porno directing lair", where Thomas sings to Alfred while attempting to molest him. Eventually, the real Jesus Christ arrives at the scene and saves Alfred before anything horrible can happen, giving Thomas a stern talking-to. When Alfred tries to thank Jesus, Jesus distortedly screeches at the top of his lungs, scaring both Alfred and Thomas away. The cartoon ends with Jesus sitting down by himself and making himself a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich.
Alfred Christ[]
Alfred rises from the dead as the reincarnation of Jesus Christ and begins smiting people. With the recurring visual leitmotif of Alfred being nailed to a cross and emitting holy light during the 2010s, this is could be theorised to be a delusion made by Alfred's narcissism, although it was definitely originally intended to be a fun shitpost.
Alfred Destroys Buildings[]
As the title to this experimental piece suggests, Alfred destroys buildings to "Woo Boost" by Rusko.
Alfred, The Creator[]
Alfred sits down to watch the 2006 American musical adult animated television series Metapocalypse, and imagines himself sexually dominating the characters on the show, at one point sodomising them with popsicles, in obvious reference to Alfred's Playhouse Part 1. This marks the first appearance of Alfred's alter Lucifer, who appears a lot more cartoony and colourful and is depicted having normal gay sex instead of indulging in necrophilia. This video also shows Alfred defiling the corpse of the mailman he kidnapped, but the canonicity of this unclear.
Boomerang - AMV[]
Alfred appears for a few brief moments in Boomerang - AMV, resembling his look in Alfred Destroys Buildings, and doing similar actions to said animation, riding a tricycle while throwing bombs over his shoulder at buildings. Although having an incredibly brief appearance in this video, it's referred to during the credits as "AN 'ALFRED ALFER' MOVIE".
Eat My Rotten Meat (2012)[]
Alfred appears in Eat My Rotten Meat (2012) alongside MC Bushpig, and his alters Dictator Pickles and Schoolgirl Alfie, performing the disgusting actions described in the lyrics of the song, and then some. Ironically, Lucifer, Alfred's most disgustingly perverted alter, is also the only alter to not appear in this video, although this makes sense considering that Lucifer was not yet a character.
Other Media[]
Where The Dead Go To Die[]
Alfred makes a brief cameo in the heavily-criticized animated horror anthology film Where The Dead Go To Die. In Chapter III: The Mask That Monsters Wear, he appears a PSA on the television about, fittingly, sexual assault. This is notable in that it's one of the only remotely heroic things Alfred does throughout any of his appearances, and it also notably references the events of Chapter I: Tainted Milk, as well as foreshadowing the return of Labby in Chapter III.
Here, Alfred isn't nearly as important or prominent of a character in the story of the film as Labby (WTDGTD's main antagonist) is in The Alfred Alfer Movie, only making a small cameo appearance in WTDGTD while Labby stars as the main antagonist of TAAM.
Villainous acts[]
- Before the events of Rise of Alfred, Alfred stalked a couple and watched through their window while they had sexual intercourse, and tried to emulate said intercourse with a watermelon that he didn't pay for or take to a private place prior.
- In Rise of Alfred, under the influence of Dictator Pickles, Alfred wasted tons of food, vandalised a McDonald's, and sexually harassed, took advantage of and eventually mutilated and murdered his employees in a violent frenzy.
- In Alfred's Playhouse, Alfred kidnapped a mailman and held him hostage, although he was in the midst of a mental breakdown.
- In Alfred's Big Surprise, Alfred began humping a watermelon-shaped creature without its consent, although he didn't realise it wasn't just a normal watermelon.
- In Dead Girl Strip Club and GG Alfred, Alfred went on a giant necrophilia rampage, molesting dozens of dead people and even crashing a funeral to rape the corpse of a deceased grandma.
- In Ascent of Alfred, Alfred committed mass terrorism by sending a virus to his haters that made their laptops explode and kill them in the process. Afterwards, he turned into a raging antisemitic racist and murdered anybody who called him out for it.
Personality(s)[]
Alfred Alfer is a childish yet sociopathic cartoon dog who, after years of neglect and abuse, has developed several mental illnesses, most notably his multiple personality disorders, along with what seems to be schizophrenia and narcissism. His personalities include:
Alfred Alfer[]
“ | Alfred needs... Hug. Boys and girls. Alfred needs love. Alfred needs... pity... piiiiiity.... | „ |
~ Alfred after his meltdown in Part 2. |
Alfred is the original and main personality, a childlike, airheaded yet traumatized, but slightly insane, murderous, nilhistic, sadistic, psychopathic, narcissistic, and emotionally handicapped pitbull-mixed dog who likes to dance, sing, and be loved and worshipped. After a life of loneliness and pain, he is desperate for love and affection, so much so that he commits all criminal acts such as stalking a couple having sex on Valentines day and having intercourse with a watermelon without taking it somewhere private (let alone paying for it) and also goes as far as to mutilate his thigh regularly in a desperate attempt to get attention from strangers. When promoted to manager of Burritobell, he instantly uses his authority to desperately try and make his employees love him, making a song for them to sing to him (which high-lights each and every one of his insecurities for all to see) and forcing them to call him "Dictator Alfred". He's also incredibly paranoid, instantly believing his alter, Dictator Pickles, nearly right away when he tells him his employees plan to rebel. He likes to disassociate and disappear into a world of wonder called "Alfred's Playhouse", which helps him see the world around him in a colourful, childlike manner that brings him joy. He's very sensitive, losing his mind at the slightest bit of overstimulation, even if it was conjured by his own mind. Eventually, he sinks so far into his illness and loneliness that he begins having sexual intercourse with mutilated dead bodies, which eventually branches out into a new alter known as Lucifer.
Dictator Pickles/Dictator Alfred[]
“ | Besides, Alfred, you are forgetting one tiny thing: We are your "mind", how can you escape from yourself? | „ |
~ Pickles to Alfred. |
Dictator Pickles is Alfred's most prominent alter, who was created by Alfred's subconscious to take his place in traumatic situations that was too much for Alfred to handle, many of which involved sodomy. Dictator Pickles was forced to endure hours of sexual assault while Alfred (in the words of Pickles) "danced the polka with Jerry Seinfeld Unicorns" in his head. As a result of this, Dictator Pickles has a deep hatred for Alfred, trying to take over his whole consciousness, hurling insults at him, torturing him, and treating him like a pathetic animal (which Alfred ultimately is). This hatred is almost sexual, as he gleefully strokes himself on TV while he watches Alfred get violated at the end of Return to the Playhouse. He wears a stereotypical dictator outfit, and is often depicted standing at a podium.
The Ghosts of Hitler and Stalin[]
“ | Do it, Alfred! Purge those assholes! | „ |
~ Stalin encouraging Alfred to murder his workers. |
“ | Ah-hah! | „ |
~ Hitler while Alfred destroys the hamburgers. |
While not quite an alternate personality, Alfred, in the description of Rise of Alfred, is said to have the ghosts of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin trapped inside his brain for all eternity, who are said to be able to control and communicate with Alfred. They appear often during Rise of Alfred and Alfred's Playhouse. Although likely a result of Emily Youcis's style of comedy at the time, both Hitler and Stalin are very silly and goofy, dancing around and jerking off while burning bagels, unlike their real-life counterparts, which strongly implies that they're really just parts of Alfred's imagination, likely extensions of Dictator Pickles, who like the ghosts of Hitler and Stalin, are children's perceptions of what a dictator is and how they act.
Lucifer, King of the Graveyard[]
“ | I... FUCK... the dead. I love 'em... when they're cold. I... FUCK... the dead. I slide my cock... right through their mold... | „ |
~ Lucifer singing G.G. Allin's "Fuck the Dead". |
Lucifer is the most one-dimensional of Alfred's canon alters and his least prominent, only appearing in two animations, those being Alfred, The Creator and G.G. Alfred. However, he appears as two entirely different people in both of these animations:
Alfred, The Creator[]
Lucifer makes his debut in Alfred, The Creator as a gothic yet colourful and clownlike alter of Alfred, whose one interest seems to be sexual intercourse, specifically with the characters from Metapocalypse. He's seen only briefly, wearing a bright blue curly wig, a neon green vest, a red clown nose, a purple hat with the Alfred Alfer logo on it, pink spiked bracelets, a yellow spiked collar, a red nose and similar black eyeliner to his movie appearance.
G.G. Alfred[]
Lucifer appears as a much more depraved version of himself in The Alfred Alfer Movie. After years of loneliness, Alfred developed a necrophilia fetish which spiralled into an alternative personality who's obsessed with intercourse with dead bodies. He appears much less colourful, his neon hair being replaced with white, petrified streaks of hair sticking out from under his hat, and wears a black leather jacket and matching hat, a far cry from his A,TC appearance. He's a clear expy of G.G. Allin, who wrote "Fuck The Dead", the song sung in G.G. Alfred, the title of which also a reference to Allin.
Schoolgirl Alfie[]
“ | Ha-ha, how long 'til the big surprise, Labby? | „ |
~ Alfred's girly persona talking to Labby. |
Schoolgirl Alfie is Alfred's childish persona. She only seems to emerge when Alfred is getting ready to hurt himself, or when he's with someone he loves and cares about (tragically, most often the former.). She describes hurting herself casually and enthusiastically, like a little kid telling their parents about their day at school. In the Alfred Alfer Movie, she sings joyfully alongside Labby and is devastated when he abandons her in the middle of the desert, named "WHERE THE DEAD GO TO DIE". She makes a short appearance during GG Alfred, where she's depicted stumbling upon a dead, decaying body and overjoyed, starting to eat it and have sex with it. She also appears in EAT MY ROTTEN MEAT 2012, rapping MC Mangina's lyrics and mutilating herself in the ways described in said lyrics. She's most often depicted wearing the same outfit as Alfred (which is nothing, as he is a cartoon dog) but occasionally appears with a button-up blouse, white socks and short skirt. In Schoolgirl Alfie in: "I Remember You", she wears an orange pigtail wig and red lipstick. She's never referred to by name, but is referred to as Schoolgirl Alfred in the title of Schoolgirl Alfie in: "I Remember You".
Abilities/skills/powers[]
High strength, agility and murder expertise: Alfred quickly and expertly murders every single one of his employees with his bare hands and a bottle of mayonnaise. He's also able to completely overpower the mailman and hold him captive for several days.
High pain tolerance: Alfred is able to withstand high amounts of pain, as shown when he brutally mutilates his leg in Alfred's Playhouse Part 2. Although he's very visibly in agony, he doesn't slow down in his methods at all until he passes out.
Manipulation tactics: Alfred brutally self harms as a method of manipulating people into feeling pity towards Alfred. The effectiveness of this is ambiguous as Alfred is never paid any attention from anyone aside from his playhouse friends.
Intimidation: Alfred has a habit of scaring people into submission, albeit unintentionally. All of his employees are completely silent when he expresses his expectation of their undying loyalty (although they might also be too burnt out to respond) and the mailman is completely terrified of Alfred's demeanour and living situation, immediately giving up all his belongings out of fear.
Marksmanship: Alfred is briefly shown gunning down a Ronald McDonald statue outside of the McDonald's near Burritobell for seemingly no reason. He's also seen shooting a man to death in Alfred Christ, which doesn't seem to be canon, and more of a delusion (or just a fun shitpost).
Singing and dancing: Alfred loves to sing and dance, writing songs about himself and his playhouse and dancing in almost all of his appearances.
Shapeshifting: Alfred is shown to be slightly amorphous in nature, able to squish and stretch himself like the cartoon character he is. Additionally, in Hellbenders Porn, Alfred grotesquely morphs into a human woman limb-by-limb, although this likely isn't canon.
Gender Manipulation: Alfred often switches his biological sex to that of a woman. This is often used by Schoolgirl Alfie.
Brilliant engineering expertise: Alfred is somehow able to create a machine that transports his consciousness into the internet out of crap he found in the playhouse. Whether or not this is all in Alfred's mind is up for debate, although most signs point to the phenomenon being fake.
Flight: In the confines of his playhouse, Alfred is able to fly through the sky.
Fourth-wall awareness: In Return to the Playhouse, Dictator Pickles informs Alfred of his status as an infamous Newgrounds cartoon character, pointing to the camera, shocking Alfred with the realisation and inspiring him to plug his consciousness into the internet. Alfred is also shown speaking to an audience of "boys and girls" like the host of a show for children during Alfred's Playhouse Part 1 & 2, although this is more than likely a result of his imagination and less a true awareness of an audience.
Manager perks: When Alfred is promoted to manager, his boss describes to him the perks of being manager.
- Control over the Burritobell employees: Alfred has command over the employees of Burritobell, and abuses it by forcing them to sing to him and give him sexual favours, and bring him food that he wastes needlessly.
- A nice wall with lead free paint: Alfred has access to an office with lead free paint on the walls.
- A cool pin with his name on it: Alfred is given a pin with his name on it, however it's too small to fit his whole name on it, only reading "Alfre".
- A slightly bigger hat than the other employees: Alfred's hat is slightly bigger than the other employees, although the difference is trivial.
Digital Godhood: After Alfred ascends to digital godhood, he's given a plethora of new abilities.
- Digital Omnipotence: Alfred is able to do anything he wants in the internet, manifesting an awesome digital rendition of how he perceived the Playhouse and manifesting himself as Donald Trump, Adolf Hitler and Jesus Christ, among other things.
- Digital Omniscience: Alfred is fully aware of everyone who spites him in the digital realm. The extent of this omniscience is unclear, as most of the people who were going against him or disagreeing with his ways were doing it in plain sight for all to see.
- High influence: Alfred, on account of his reputation as an infamous Newgrounds cartoon character, is widely worshipped by the right-wing internet for his illegal philias and violence.
- Immortality: After burning to death, Alfred's entire being is sucked into the virtual realm. With his mortal form destroyed, Alfred lives on forever as a nigh-omnipotent digital god.
- Explosives: Alfred is able to cause any device with internet access to explode violently, killing anyone in its proximity with the push of a button, which is visualised as a missile attack.
Non-canon: Alfred has plenty of abilities that don't seem to be canon to the main Alfred Alfer story.
- Tricycle riding: Alfred is shown riding a tricycle several times.
- Explosives: Alfred is shown blowing up several buildings with cartoon fuse bombs.
- Smiting powers: In Alfred Christ, Alfred is shown smiting random people, causing devastating nuclear explosions. His ability to blow people's computers up is likely a reference to this.
- Fourth-wall awareness: In the Alfred and Phat Dawg shorts, specifically Alfred's StoryofChristmas, Alfred seems to be perfectly aware of his status as a character in a cartoon, taking a moment to tell the teens in the audience to wear a condom during sex to combat the social issue of teen pregnancy and getting angry when the camera begins to pan away from him before he can finish talking. This contrasts his fourth-wall awareness in The Alfred Alfer Movie, where Alfred is shocked and enamoured by the sudden revelation.
- Prolonged lifespan: In Alfred's StoryofChristmas, Alfred mentions in passing that he personally witnessed the birth of Jesus Christ, among other Bible stories, and is telling them to Phat Dawg and the audience from memory, which is why he struggles to remember it properly. The validity of this claim is unknown as Alfred refuses to elaborate, and is also a bit of an idiot.

Look, Alfred, the thing is, we're not real. I'm just a hallucination. But I'm part of a good trip, man! See, the Playhouse is here to keep you from doing very bad things. For instance, you recall a flashback you had about a popsicle up the ass? Well, what do you know? That's reality! I bet you didn't remember getting violated with a frozen treat until that flashback, didja? Well, that's 'cause the Playhouse is so kind to keep it from you. Isn't that just dandy? So don't get mad at us, we've shielded you from the painful truth. We fight to serve you: the common man. But, but... here's the real bitch-slapper. You wanna know why else you can't remember? Hmmmm? You wanna know why else you can't remember that POPSICLE?! POPSICLE?! POPSICLE?! POPSICLE?! POPSICLE?! OOH, TEACHER! PICK ME!!! Because... I remember! I remember quite well actually. It happened to ME! I was filling in for you with your alternate personality, straining in your body feeling the cold fruitylicious popsicle in me while you were dancing the polka with.. Jerry Seinfeld unicorns!! That is the Playhouse, created so you could dance the polka and be all merry and happy and la la.But I also came into existence so you could go preserved and unscathed. I am the sole empty purpose of being a trash receptacle for everything you couldn't handle. And you filled up that emptiness well didn't you, Alfred? With all your pain? All your trauma? That pain rotted at the bottom of that receptacle and filled it with desire. Me, the steaming desire for power and revenge! It created my own being, my own purpose and need. The abuse that happened to your body nourished me, made me grow. Saved me from all of the bad. I HAVE SEEN AND KNOWN THE TRUTH!! I AM DICTATOR PICKLES! So, let me give it to you straight. That thing there... (points to Alfred in the mirror) That is you, that cannot handle reality. Nobody in reality will ever love that—I know it. But the Playhouse loves you. So, why don't we go back to how it was, forget we've been sodomizing you and you can remain in ignorant bliss. You know, two plus two is five, and all that jazz. Trivia[]
- A recurring visual gag across Alfred's appearances is that he has a watermelon fetish.
- In Rise Of Alfred, Alfred is shown in a flashback having sex with a watermelon in the middle of the market before being attacked by the fruit salesman.
- In Alfred's Playhouse Part 1, during the theme song lyric "Your playhouse friends will always love and be around you", Alfred is shown tearfully and passionately humping a watermelon while surrounded by his toys.
- In Alfred's Big Surprise, after getting abandoned by Labby and walking through the wasteland of "WHERE THE DEAD GO TO DIE" for days, Alfred collapses, rolls down the hill and lands on a watermelon, beginning to tearfully dry-hump it until it reveals itself to be a drunk hippo-like creature. Alfred vents his frustrations to the hippo melon, who tells him to turn to hard liquor to cope with his abandonment. He then offers Alfred oral sex, which Alfred seems to decline.
- Why Alfred denies the watermelon hippo sex is unspecified, but it could be that he had started to develop a taste for inanimate objects by this point, as shown in Dead Girl Strip Club and G.G. Alfred.
- In Alfred's Playhouse Part 1, during the theme song lyric "Your playhouse friends will always love and be around you", Alfred is shown tearfully and passionately humping a watermelon while surrounded by his toys.
- In Rise Of Alfred, Alfred is shown in a flashback having sex with a watermelon in the middle of the market before being attacked by the fruit salesman.
- Alfred's last name, Alfer, could be an amalgam of the words "Alfred" and "alter", although it's farfetched to assume this.
- Alfred shares many parallels with his creator, Emily Youcis, who depicted her sexual trauma and abuse through the Alfred's Playhouse series.
- Like Alfred, Emily tragically suffered from sexual abuse at the hands of her dad at a young age, as stated by Emily herself in an argument with another user on her Newgrounds page.
- Alfred likes to disassociate into his mind, into the Playhouse. Albeit less extreme, Emily would play with a dollhouse as a little girl, and would play with two ceramic dog figurines named "Phat Dawg and Shizzle" (The characters who would appear in her first animation, the latter of which would become Alfred Alfer).
- Whether intentional or not, The Alfred Alfer Movie can be seen as a metaphor for Emily's descent into online Nazism. The Alfred Alfer Movie revolves around Alfred trying and failing to feel happy while being haunted by a manifestation of his past before finding out about his status as a somewhat famous cartoon character and plugging himself into the internet, becoming a virtual god and worshipped like a dictator. Similarly, Emily, as stated by herself in an interview, was in a low place in her life until she went onto the political boards of 4chan and discovered "The red pill".
- Ironically, Emily has stated that she is currently very happy and healthy, which Alfred (judging by his expressions and body language in Ascent of Alfred) would likely also claim, despite very clearly looking horribly ill towards the end and ultimately burning to death.
- However, Emily, unlike Alfred, is a real person with a personal life away from the public, and as a result, there is no proof that she isn't living her best life like she claims.
- However, unlike Alfred, it's important to note that Emily does not suffer from any multiple personality disorders, despite her (according to commenters on her YouTube and Newgrounds) spot-on depictions of how it feels to suffer from disorders like DID.
- Like Alfred, Emily tragically suffered from sexual abuse at the hands of her dad at a young age, as stated by Emily herself in an argument with another user on her Newgrounds page.
- A common misconception is that the many depictions of political dictators such as Hitler and Stalin (among other problematic figures and imageries) during 2006 - 2009 (At the earliest) were representative of Emily's political views at the time. This most likely isn't true, as Emily was a teenager on early Newgrounds, and Hitler or Stalin were bound to pop up at some point.
- Before appearing as Alfred Alfer, he was named Shizzle, who was a (in the words of Emily) "Gangsta Dawg" and a cohort of Phat Dawg (also described as such), the centre of the video "Osama Gets Low", the first video by Emily Youcis. After this, Phat Dawg became Alfred's sidekick until disappearing forever after Perpetual Limbo of Room.
- Emily has stated that Phat Dawg was retconned. However, she has mentioned that she might bring him back.
- Alfred mentions having an older brother, who is shown to look like a larger, shaggier version of Alfred with a similar yet deeper voice and a porn addiction.
- Considering that his only appearance is in Alfred's StoryofChristmas (which isn't even really an appearance, only being seen briefly in a flashback), and the fact that the main Alfred story revolves around Alfred's isolation and lack of loved ones, Alfred's brother was most definitely retconned.
- Over the years, Alfred and his alters displayed several qualities that fit the Seven Deadly sins.
- Envy: Alfred's main motivation throughout his story was to find the love and affection he craved, which spiralled into a need to be worshipped. As such, he spent much of his time stalking those more fortunate than him and simulating sexual intimacy and parental care with inanimate objects. Similarly, Dictator Pickles spent his existence despising Alfred for being able to disassociate while he was forced to endure constant sexual assault.
- Wrath: Dictator Pickles' goals revolved around destroying Alfred due to his hatred of Alfred, who inadvertently caused Dictator Pickles to be manifested into an existence of abuse, neglect and trauma. He insults Alfred and attempts to sabotage him at every turn, and even in his appearances where he seems to not utterly despise Alfred (Rise of Alfred), he still orders and eradicates two hundred perfectly good hamburgers purely because of his dislike of them. Additionally, in Ascent of Alfred, Alfred commits mass cyberterrorism purely because of mean comments online, and is also fondly looked upon and repeatedly saved from certain doom by several right-wing hate symbols.
- Gluttony: Alfred is quick to overindulge in every benefit he can whenever placed in a position of power, immediately assuming he's going to be worshipped like god once he's promoted to manager of Burritobell. He also indulges in so many dead, decaying corpses as Lucifer that he (according to Dictator Pickles) gets a sexually transmitted disease.
- Greed: Alfred expects no less than every single ounce of love from all of his subjects, expecting his employees to pledge their lives to him. In Dictator Pickles' TV show from Return to the Playhouse, "The Dictator Alfred Show", Pickles brutally murders several of the Burritobell employees after they neglect to stop mindlessly chanting his name, implying that they're incredibly expendable to him (which would be a result of an abundance of forced, mindless worship) inside the realm of his perfect world.
- Lust: From the very beginning, Alfred is incredibly lustful. As manager, he forces his employees to emphasize his sexual market value in song form and provide him sexual favours (or plans to, it's hard to tell), several animations he appears in completely revolve around Alfred participating particularly lewd acts (even being directly referred to as a "poarn star" in the description of Alfred Fucks Himself as well as several other animations), completely forgets about his abandonment and suicide attempt when he sees boobies in Dead Girl Strip Club, and he even eventually develops an entire alternate personality around his sexual attraction to dead bodies, spending much of The Alfred Alfer Movie having sex.
- Pride: Alfred, despite briefly acknowledging his status as a pathetic, lowly, unloved animal, is always trying to convince himself and others that he's akin to the Christ child. He writes an entire song about how beautiful and great he is, he makes propaganda posters about himself, he's the person that the entirety of the Playhouse revolves around (although this is to be expected in the mind of anybody, especially a narcissist), and plugs his entire consciousness into the internet immediately after he realises that he has fans beyond the fourth wall willing to fuel his ego and love him.
- Sloth: Throughout his reign as manager of Burritobell, Alfred almost never does his job. For a brief moment, he's seen cleaning and putting up Burritobell posters, but this is short-lived as he immediately launches into making it all about him with his propaganda posters. Additionally, he doesn't ever attempt to get a job again, instead opting to go into hiding at his house (although this could be a result of his horrid mental state leaving Alfred unable to care about or pursue work). Despite the disturbing nature of Alfred's Playhouse, and its status as the most famous piece of Alfred media, all the trilogy dumbs down to is Alfred wandering around his house and doing nothing (excluding cutting himself and kidnapping someone by accident).
- The mailman who is kidnapped and later killed and raped by Alfred is apparently meant to resemble one of Emily's teachers.
- Alfred Alfer and Labby's appearances in each other's respective movies are a result of the at-the-time relationship between Emily Youcis and Where The Dead Go To Die creator Jimmy Screamerclauz. However, these mutual crossovers seemed largely one-sided with most of it being on Emily's side, as Alfred had a very minor cameo of only two sentences in WTDGTD whereas Labby appeared as the main antagonist of TAAM, and both WTDGTD Alfred and TAAM Labby were voiced by Emily.
- There's a few signs pointing to the fact that Ascent of Alfred is a mere hallucination or dream:
- Alfred being embraced with open arms by online right-wingers doesn't make sense, as Alfred is very clearly not straight and is presented wearing drag often, both traits demonised by the community.
- Alfred plugging his consciousness into the internet doesn't make any sense, as Alfred is never shown to have any sort of engineering expertise (let alone expertise good enough to invent ground-breaking new neurological technology on a whim), and likely wouldn't be able to afford it, as by Ascent of Alfred, Alfred hasn't had a proper source of income for nine years (based on the years Rise of Alfred and Ascent of Alfred were uploaded), and it's a stretch to assume that the late mailman's belongings could have afforded him the tech he used.
- If Ascent of Alfred IS all inside Alfred's head, it's unclear what Alfred's true fate is.
- Most likely Ascent of Alfred is just Alfred's own mind comforting him while he succumbs to hunger after being abandoned by Labby, the STDs from the dead bodies, or the fire in his house after he attempted plugging himself into the internet.
- Or it could be a visual representation of Alfred simply going online to find out more about the audience beyond the fourth wall, and eventually getting sucked into right-wing content, similar to Emily Youcis.
- Alternatively, it's all just one big randomly imagined scenario in Alfred's head, and the over-the-top antisemitic imagery is in the same vein as the appearances of Hitler and Stalin in 2005 - 2009, albeit much more exaggerated and prominent than anything else.
- Judging by Emily's political beliefs and decayed mental state, however, all of these theories are most likely, unfortunately, false.
- Alfred being embraced with open arms by online right-wingers doesn't make sense, as Alfred is very clearly not straight and is presented wearing drag often, both traits demonised by the community.
- Whether the popsicle is a metaphor for a penis or Alfred was actually sodomised with a popsicle is unclear.
- The person from the flashback is not explicitly shown using the popsicle to sodomise Alfred. Additionally, Emily mentions never having any trauma around popsicles.
- However, Dictator Pickles specifies that it was a "cold fruitylicious popsicle", and Alfred, Pickles and Labby are shown wielding popsicles during multiple animations. Additionally, according to Emily in an Alfred's Playhouse director's commentary, Pickles got his nickname from previous experiences where he was sodomised with a popsicle.
- Emily claims that the creators of the character Mr. Pickles stole her idea of an insane, murderous, perverted, sadistic dog named "Pickles" who torments the innocent, and thus has expressed her hate for the character on multiple occasions.
- In American Alfer, Mr. Pickles is seen beheaded with a pickle shoved in his ass amongst the piles of dead bodies.
- Emily ranted about how Mr. Pickles stole from her at Magfest 2016.
- Many consider Labby to be the prototype that inspired Mr. Pickles, which is ironic, considering that he's heavily implied to be representative of the characters responsible for all of Alfred's (and, in a sense, Emily's, as Alfred's Playhouse was a depiction of her abuse) misery.
- In American Alfer, Mr. Pickles is seen beheaded with a pickle shoved in his ass amongst the piles of dead bodies.
- Emily Youcis' twitter and TikTok usernames are "AlfredAlfer77"
- In the video commentary for Rise of Alfred, Emily stated that she's "got to do another one of these [cartoons]", hinting at the possible return of Alfred Alfer, although this is uncertain.
