Alfred Bleikoff was the antagonist of the Star Trek comic Prophet of Peace.
Born in the 20th century, Bleikoff became a noted scientist and mathematician by the late 20th century. An avowed pacifist, he felt that his fellow pacifists needed to study the scientists. By the mid 1990s Bleikoff was suffering from an incurable disease and was offered a chance to be frozen cryogenically, marking one of Earth's first forays into cryonics. After he was frozen Bleikoff's capsule was set adrift in space.
Some time between the mid 1990s and 2266 Bleikoff's capsule was intercepted by an alien. This alien took Bleikoff and replaced his brain with a mechanical device that could transmit radio waves that could hypnotize others. Bleikoff was then placed back in his capsule, which was soon discovered by the USS Enterprise in 2266. The capsule was brought on board the Enterprise and Bleikoff was revived by Leonard McCoy.
Brought back to Earth Bleikoff was given a tour of a number of Earth landmarks in Rome, New Chicago, and Jerusalem, among other sites. After Bleikoff began calling for the people of Earth to dismantle the planetary defenses the Enterprise crew began to suspect Bleikoff had ulterior motives. Realizing that Bleikoff was using radio waves to control the minds of people on a global scale, Captain James T. Kirk confronted Bleikoff in a broadcast studio and exposed him to a powerful magnet, which disrupted Bleikoff's mechanical brain. Bleikoff collapsed immediately, dying as his brain was erased. With the global spell broken, the crowds who had gathered to destroy Earth's defenses dispersed, unsure of what they were doing on why.
