Alfredo Catelli nicknamed "The Thief" is a bicycle thief and the main antagonist of the 1948 Italian drama film Bicycle thief.

Biography[]
After stealing a bicycle from a poor father who has to go to work, father Antonio Ricci together with his son Bruno leave Maria and together with some companions they go to look for the thief because the police would not have done anything for such a small thing.
After discovering him with a homeless man, Antonio follows the thief to a infamous neighborhood in Rome. Once he arrives in the neighbourhood, he is threatened and the people will depend on the thief and will force his father to run away and in desperation he will try to steal a bike but will be beaten by the people who will stop when the poor Bruno cries and the child will make the crowd stop becouse they will take pity on him.
