Alice Hiiragi is a major antagonist from Persona 5 Strikers, a spinoff of the 2016 video game Persona 5. She is a fashion designer and performing artist who uses the EMMA app to brainwash the citizens of Shibuya into supporting her to uncanny levels and serves as the monarch of the Shibuya jail during the first arc of the game.
She is voiced by Ayane Sakura in the Japanese version of the game and by Melanie Minichino in the English version.
Appearance[]
As a designer, Alice is known for her incredibly unique fashion sense and having a colorful worldview in her merchandise. In the real world, she has teal green hair with blue streaks in them and dark purple eyes. She's rather short, being about a head's length lower than the protagonist, however it is implied she is still a bit older than most of the main cast of the game.
Much of her outfit takes inspiration from the Alice in Wonderland series, and Alice herself notes on TV that her latest brand is titled "Alice in Wonderland". She has a lavender Ace of Spades card on her bangs, a large blue-and-white striped bow on the back of her head, and sports a teapot and a bottle of turquoise liquid in her hair. She wears a puffy blue-and-white striped dress that has a short front and a long back with short puffy sleeves and a pair of small yellow balls at the bottom. Some of her other accessories include a yellow ace of diamonds card on her skirt with a lavender card, a clock with a golden heart at the end of its chain, a depiction of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland on the left side of her skirt, and many lavender/blue ribbons. She also wears light green leggings with white boots and a series of ribbons attached to them.
In the Metaverse, she takes on a completely different form, having a shadow self who has bright pink hair and a very provocative look, including gaudy makeup and a bright dominatrix outfit. Her hair buns are replaced with large psychedelic eyes and she wears a pair of black high heels and a large frilly skirt. Her shadow wears a purple crown lined with neon lights and with a yellow glowing heart on top of it, symbolizing her control over the Shibuya jail.
During her boss fight, she takes on the form of a monstrous towering rabbit girl with the same hairstyle as her shadow self. Her mouth is stitched shut and she retains much of the same provocative clothing as before. Her tail takes the form of a white puff ball with "eat me" written on it and a mouth on it, resembling a Hablerie Shadow from Persona 4. She now wears a pair of fishnet stockings with two carrots wearing BDSM masks tucked into them.
Personality[]
To the public, Alice Hiiragi is seen as a stylish, charismatic idol and fashion designer whose charm can seemingly captivate all of Shibuya. She maintains a cheerful, approachable persona in front of others, earning admiration for both her looks and creativity.
In reality, however, Alice is far darker and more unstable. She uses EMMA to manipulate men in relationships, stealing their Desires and forcing them to pursue her. When confronted, she lashes out violently, humiliating her victims and displaying sadistic tendencies. Her Shadow embodies these traits as a dominatrix queen, representing her lust for power and control over others.
Alice’s behavior stems from her painful past at Shujin Academy, where she was bullied after a popular boy confessed to her. Socially isolated and lacking self-esteem, she became deeply insecure. Before entering fashion, she was introverted and timid, but EMMA allowed her to artificially inflate her ego, creating the distorted “idol” persona she is known for. Her insecurities resurfaced when a former bully attempted to sabotage her career by spreading rumors. In response, Alice turned to EMMA for revenge, first targeting those close to her bully and eventually expanding her influence across Shibuya. She often projected her paranoia onto others, mistaking Ann Takamaki for another “popular bully” due to her career as a model.
Despite her actions, Alice never viewed herself as malicious—only as someone trying to avoid being victimized again. When confronted by the Phantom Thieves, she was horrified to realize they saw her as an oppressor rather than a survivor. After her defeat, her Shadow admitted that copying the cruelty of her bullies had only deepened her self-hatred, bringing no true confidence or healing.

Trivia[]
- Alice Hiiragi’s character design draws heavy inspiration from Alice in Wonderland.
- Her given name directly matches the story’s protagonist, Alice.
- She wears a teapot on her head along with a violet ace of spades card, a clear nod to the Mad Hatter because he too has cards on his hat, and holds tea parties.
- The lower layer of her dress features the grinning face of the Cheshire Cat.
- Elements of the Queen of Hearts are also present: Alice’s Metaverse attire includes hearts and a crown, she commands Shadows as servants, and she rules over a Jail as a monarch.
- Her flamingo-shaped club may allude to the Queen of Hearts’ croquet game, where flamingos are used as mallets.
- The clock motif on her outfit references the White Rabbit, while her Mad Rabbit Alice form merges traits from the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, and Alice herself.
- Just as the original Alice falls into Wonderland via a rabbit hole, this Alice descends into her own distorted “Wonderland” after a breaking point in her life, artificially constructing a new ego through EMMA.
- The “EAT ME” written on her Rabbit Form’s tail recalls the cake from Alice in Wonderland that causes Alice to grow in size.
- Under EMMA’s influence, both her Shadow and real-world self taunt victims with the phrase, “I don’t want toys that don’t do as they’re told,” while literally stepping on them.
- Early storyboards gave Alice the name 有栖, still pronounced “Alice,” but written with kanji meaning roughly “to have” and “nest.”
