Alice Paolini is a major antagonist in the 2010 Video Game Galaxy on Fire: 2 by FISHLABS. She is a cunning weapons dealer who runs her own faction to test her weapons on random targets, even if it means putting her reputation at stake.
History[]
Alice Paolini was the sister of Carla Paolini who dropped out of the Deep Scientist academy due to boredom. Instead, Alice wanted money and fame. So she became a weapons dealer and built a space station named "Valkyrie" of which she put near a gas giant planet in the Her jaza system. Alice hired many mercenaries and some pirates to build her faction. Ultimately, she made a lot of money dealing her weapons.
At some point after the Voids were defeated by Keith T. Maxwell, Alice ordered for her henchman Cornelius Tenner to get Maxwell to steal the advanced Vossk Fighter known as the K'Suukk. The mission was a success and she paid Maxwell 200,000 credits. Alice ordered for Maxwell to use a stolen Vossk gunship called the S'Kanarr to test an automatic turret on some pirates.
The mission was a success and Alice paid Maxwell 150,000 credits before ordering him to help her with making Liberator guided nukes. Once they were assembled, Alice assigned Maxwell to test the nukes on some old rivals of her's, stating she would pay Maxwell 50,000 credits for each freighter destroyed with a Liberator. After the mission, Alice kicked Maxwell from Valkyrie after telling him if they are any remaining weapons he could keep them.
It is likely she knew Maxwell worked for Deep Science, so after Maxwell left Valkyire, Alice ordered for some pirate minions of hers to kidnap a Grey scientist named Khador in order to get the integrated Khador Drive of his ship as she started to become fascinated with it. Keith arrived at Nosdron in the Skavac system and freed Khador, not knowing that Alice ordered the pirates to kidnap him.
After Khador was freed, Alice ordered Maxwell to return to Valkyrie for an important mission. When Maxwell arrived, Alice ordered for Maxwell to go with Cornelius Tenner to Nosdron to get a shipment some pirates promised to deliver. The two went to Nosdron and the mission was a failure with nothing being found inside the station according to Cornelius who went to speak to Alice.
Alice immediately called Maxwell after he helped a Grey named Netor stop a pirate Multipod named Trot Lykkt. She gave Maxwell the 150,000 credits despite the previous mission's failure before tricking him into going to Teres in the Prospero system to stop some freighters that she claimed were carrying weapons. However, Maxwell uncovered the truth after stopping the freighters, finding out that they were going to Kothar in the Beidan system.
After finding out Alice's backstory, Keith went to confront Alice. Alice immediately found out Keith T. Maxwell had a Khador drive and ordered Tenner to steal it from a ship Maxwell was testing out. Afterwards, she revealed her plan to steal the blueprint of the Khador drive for herself to make it the "Alice Drive" before ejecting Maxwell from Valkyrie.
Alice mounted the Khador Drive to Valkyrie, of which she transformed into a giant battlestation with turrets and generators. She used the drive to teleport to Kothar where she used a laser beam from Valkyrie to destroy one of Kothar station's arms. Maxwell arrived and fought Alice's pirates and destroyed Valkyrie's turrets and generators. Alice proceeded to retreat with her and Cornelius inside but the drive malfunctioned and sent her to Void Space. There, she and Cornelius were stranded without energy cells much to the former's annoyance.
As time passed, Alice started to become more mentally ill while being trapped in Void Space. At some point, Alice mutated Cornelius into a half-human, half-Void being to speak to the Voids. After Trunt Harval destroyed a plasma array that was needed to reverse a supernova he caused, Keith went to the Void system to explain he would relocate Alice in exchange for the station. Alice agreed and ordered Maxwell to find her a place somewhere quiet in Terran space in a station orbiting a blue planet with a tech level of 5 or higher.
Maxwell found an apartment for her on Kalun Amir Station in the Augmenta system. Alice was happy, but needed to get out of Void Space. She ordered a thousand energy cells to be given to her. Maxwell immediately went to Allioth where Terran officer Brent Snocom lived. Brent sent his worker Hans to pilot a dropship with a Khador drive and several cargo compressors mounted to bring Alice the energy cells. While Maxwell was conversing with Brent and Hans, Alice prepared her plan for revenge on Maxwell by getting Cornelius to command all the surrounding Voids to prepare to attack Maxwell and Hans.
When Maxwell and Hans returned to Void space, Alice ordered the Voids to attack them after Hans docked on the left wing of Valkyrie to unload the energy cells. Maxwell and Hans immediately docked on Valkyrie's wings to stop Alice from stealing the energy cells. They immediately got to Valkyrie's bridge where Alice got handcuffed after revealing she turned Corny into a half-Void. She proclaimed she should be praised for such actions as she advanced science by fusing implants to Cornelius' brain to speak Void.
Alice was imprisoned on Damarque I station after she briefly fought the security guards. However, she managed to stealthy escape and fly a Cicero ship to Var Lupra where Valkyrie was being used as a plasma array to try and reverse the supernova in the Ginoya system. Once there, Alice hijacked the station after taunting everyone. Before long, only her, Keith and Trunt were left in the orbit of Var Lupra as the remaining Stealth fighters were destroyed by the Terran fleet who escaped to safety. Much to Alice's horror, the Khador Drive of Valkyrie was removed and she was taking damage from the gamma rays of the sun as she didn't have protection and from Harval's attacks. Left with no choice, she fired the plasma array and told Maxwell to tell Carla she loved her all along. The implosion destroyed Valkyrie and killied Alice.
