Alicia Soria, better known by her friends as Virginia Rubio, is the overarching antagonist of the Spanish Netflix horror film Killer Book Club. She is the arch-nemesis of her former friend Ángela Kuntz and the girlfriend of Sebastián Hoyos.
She is portrayed by Priscilla Delgado.
Biography[]
Alicia lived in an abusive household isolated with her mother, Catalina Soria. Catalina would force her daughter to read thousands of books and analyze them, writing reports on them. Whenever Alicia failed to do this, Catalina would beat her. Pained by her life, and unable to leave her home, Alicia sought comfort online with two individuals; Ángela and Sebas. However, Ángela betrayed Alicia's trust by taking Alicia's life and turning it into a story that she published, humiliating Alicia by revealing her trauma to the world. This action drove Alicia crazy, and she turned to Sebas, who promised Alicia that they would get revenge against Ángela.
Alicia then faked her death by burning her home down with her mother in it, and moving to Ángela's school under the alias Virginia Rubio. Since Alicia and Ángela had only ever communicated digitally, Ángela didn't know what Alicia looked like, so she never suspected that Virginia was anything other who she said she was.
Eventually, with the help of Sebas, they managed to torment Ángela six years later by killing off her other friends before revealing themselves to her. However, Sebas was killed by Nando, Ángela's boyfriend, and Alicia was seemingly burned to death by Ángela.
However, a year later, Ángela sees Alicia again with a burned face, and the movie ends just as Ángela screams. It it unknown if this Alicia was just another hallucination, or if she actually managed to survive the fire and is back for revenge. Ultimately, her fate is left unknown.
