Alien Rayblood is one of the main antagonists in the Ultraman franchise, acting as the overarching antagonist of Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle and the Ultraman Zero movies.
He is an enigmatic entity and the creator of the Reionics, as well as the one who gave Ultraman Belial his dark powers by fusing with him. Though his body was destroyed centuries ago, his spirit continued to exist in the present day through his possession of the original Belial's body, until he was separated from it by Ultraman Geed.
In his appearance in Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle: Never Ending Odyssey he is voiced by Masaharu Sato, who also voiced Dezumozorlya in Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger. In his brief appearance in Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movie he is voiced by Masahiro Chono.
Biography[]
Origin[]
Rayblood is stated to have existed longer than any of the other foes the Ultras have faced, possibly surpassing Alien Empera, the three siblings of Guar, and Yapool.
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, Rayblood's body was destroyed, spreading his genes throughout the universe and creating the Reionics. Rayblood continued to exist in spirit, however, and began searching for a worthy successor to him.
Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle[]
Rayblood is mentioned in episode 12, the penultimate episode of the series, by Kate who explains his origin and states that he is the creator of all the Reionics.
Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle: Never Ending Odyssey[]
In the sequel series, Rayblood is revealed to be sealed within Planet Hammer. After gaining enough power, Rayblood called out to Reimon, luring him into the depths of the planet. Rayblood then summoned Armored Mefilas to fight him to test his abilities.
Rei manages to defeat Mefilas, impressing Rayblood. The ancient entity then reveals himself and offers to make Rei his successor. However, Rei refused, prompting Rayblood to summon and possess Armored Darkness to kill Rei. The Armored Darkness succeeds in defeating Rei's Gomora, but Grande and Red King appear soon afterward, revealing that they followed Rei. Red King EX and Gomora EX then work together to defeat Rayblood and succeed in doing so.
Rayblood later attempts to suck ZAP SPACY into a black hole as they are fleeing the imploding planet. However, Ultraman and Ultraseven use their Specium Ray and Wide Shot to destroy Rayblood's core, allowing ZAP SPACY to escape.
Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movie[]
Rayblood appeared to Belial after he was banished from the Land of Light and fused with him, transforming Belial into a Reionics and granting him powerful new abilities before influencing him through his resentment of his former friends and banishment from the Land of Light in order to attack and destroy the Land of Light; however, Belial was defeated by Ultraman King and imprisoned. He would escape thousands of years later with the help of an unwitting Alien Zarab whom Belial killed. Despite Belial's best efforts he was defeated again, this time by Ultraman Zero and seemingly killed, albeit he survived thanks to his Reionics powers and came back several times to terrorize the Multiverse.
Ultraman Geed[]
Rayblood's influence came once again when Belial returned for the last time in a bid to become a God through absorbing Ultraman King's scattered power. After Geed knocked him out of the Atrocious form and destroyed the Giga Battle Nizer, he engaged his father into a fight in an alternate dimension, where in their subconscious Geed hugged his father in an attempt to calm him an act that managed to expunge Rayblood's spirit from Belial's body at last; though that did not stop Belial from attacking Geed in furious defiance one last time which ended with him being destroyed by his son and his soul got trapped in the alternate dimension, with Rayblood very likely getting caught up inside as well, seemingly bringing an end to his threat at last.
