The Aliens are the overarching antagonists of the second season, Asylum, and the main antagonists of Death Valley, the second part of the tenth season, Double Feature of the anthology series, American Horror Story.
They are a mysterious race of aliens (implied to be from Mars) who regularly abduct humans for twisted experiments. Eventually, they make a deal with the United States government to help them create a new hybrid between the aliens and humans, resulting in a decades-long conspiracy.
History[]
Asylum[]
In 1964, the aliens abduct interracial couple Kit and Alma Walker, extracting Kit's DNA and impregnating Alma. Kit is released, but Alma's disappearance leads him to be arrested and framed as the serial killer Bloody Face.
Committed to Briarcliff Manor, an insane asylum, Kit is subjected to experiments from Dr. Arthur Arden, who finds an alien chip in his neck. During a failed escape attempt, Kit's new lover, Grace, is shot dead by a security guard. The aliens then steal her corpse and revive her, impregnating her as well.
Eventually, Alma and Grace are both released by the aliens and give birth to their genetically-engineered children. Kit enters into a polyamorous relationship with Alma and Grace and raises the children, Julia and Thomas, as his own. However, the lingering trauma of the abduction leads Alma to kill Grace in a psychotic breakdown, causing her to be sent to Briarcliff and leaving Kit to raise the kids alone.
Kit takes the now-insane Sister Jude into his care and attempts to detox her, only for her to lapse into insanity once more. However, the kids use their strange powers to heal her mind, and Sister Jude helps raise them as a grandmother figure up until her death.
The kids both grow up to be highly successful and influential leaders. Kit is left alone once again, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. One night, the aliens return to abduct him, and Kit is never seen again.
