~ Some Alien saying in Piko-chan Monogatari |
The Aliens are the main antagonists in Piropito's work series Pikotan. They are the group that appear beneath Piko-chan, her friends, and other children, and are basically reflected as a green humanoid in their deformed state. In some works, he wears an orange badge with the letter S engraved on their body.
Depending on the work, they are basically portrayed as beings who are avoided and feared by children, and also they have no hesitation in taking away or bothering children's something. On the other hand, although the specific structure of the organization and whether it is hierarchical or not are unclear, in real-life that is mentioned in fragments, they are depicted as a enigmatic group that repeatedly commits atrocious crimes targeting children.
Biography[]
The Aliens is a common name used by the children in the work, and its original name and identity have never been revealed. However, in the subsequent actions and fragmentary real-world depictions of them, we can infer that they are a group so anonymous that the police are unable to ascertain their true identity.
They are mainly depicted as mysterious or dangerous creatures in children's imaginary worlds, and also repeatedly cause trouble for children by abusive means such as relentlessly inviting children to play with them or killing children.
Chicchanachi-chan[]
In Chicchanachi-chan, there is an extra: a dialogue between someone explaining about child pornography law in Japan and Chi-chan listening to the explanation. However, in the last passage, there is a scene in which a alien lures her to him.
Piko-chan Monogatari[]
Piko-chan Monogatari (Pikochan's Story) consists of two parts, spinning a seemingly completely ridiculous tale, but the explicit mention of performers and the inclusion of descriptions of killing and cannibalism may be a metaphor for snuff film.
In the first part, Piko-chan in the story says that she gets the power to lay eggs to protect green aliens, from the orange monster titled "bad aliens", and green aliens are so intent on "rotating" her that Piko-chan has no idea what the aliens are thinking.
In the other, Piko-chan is eaten and dies by aliens who are bored of fighting Piko-chan and the bad alien. However, then by unknown means, she regains her zest for life and green aliens are died by Piko-chan's venom. After being revived, Piko-chan claims herself to be a "plant person" and eventually she blossoms.
At one of ending scenes, descriptions exists that the majority of the aliens were immobilized by "Piko-chan's poison", and as if all Aliens were dead by Piko-chan's some action. Also, the orange monster, titled the "bad alien", is saddened to the point of shedding tears over the death of Piko-chan who was supposedly in the way of killing green aliens, but it is not unclear what this bad alien is supposed to represent.
Maa-chan no Ringo and Kyou ha Nanno Hi[]
Maa-chan no Ringo (Maa-chan's Apple) and Kyou ha Nanno Hi (What Is Today?) both reveal the fact that many shadowy hands are operating behind the scenes. What this clearly indicates is unclear, but it probably does implied The Stranger and many other Aliens having planned much of the carnage that is revealed in Pikotan.
Arisan no Osouretsu[]
Arisan no Osouretsu (Ant's funeral), along with Piko-chan Monogatari, is the work in which Aliens interfere the most and in which many descriptions appear. In this work, the wild information that Aliens always warps to the scene of a locked-room murder and appears one-sidedly is similar to the apparition of The Stranger in POKOPOKOPIKOTAN, except that this was a locked-room murder.
Also, there is a scene in which Piko-chan and other children express anger at the story that Aliens broke into the place during Aa-chan having laid eggs "16 years ago". The details of these depictions are not clear, but it is certain that Aa-chan was ultimately killed by Aliens.
Notable Members[]
The Stranger[]
The Stranger appears in STAY AT HOME FOR THE FIRST TIME and POKOPOKOPIKOTAN. He enters Piko-chan's house when she is not home and, after making a difficult and being angery unjustly against her, destroys her toys and other memorabilia, kidnaps her, and then rapes and murders her with his partners. He is also probably directly involved in Chi-chan's murder. He has the appearance of a human figure with two dots representing eyes, and in POKOPOKOPIKOTAN, he is described as a giant limb that interferes from the outside to slaughter characters inside a stage-like setting. This appearance is clearly distinctive compared to other Aliens, and its close resemblance to the shadowy hands common in works such as Maa-chan no Ringo and Kyou ha Nanno Hi, implies that he is a special figure among the Aliens.
Unemployed Alien[]
Unemployed Aliens appear in Maa-chan no Ringo and are mentioned in Pikotan. He took Maa-chan out of the house in middle of night, and after playing together at an amusement park for a while, he lured her to an unpopular place, dropped her in a well, and murdered her. In Pikotan, he is mentioned his capture by the police, and suspected of killing Maa-chan and dumping her body, and during interrogation he admits his guilt, saying that he did it in a fit of rage.
Bad Alien[]
Bad Alien is probably a member of the Aliens, and have an orange body color, limbs and bloated body, but is not depicted as a humanoid. He is more emotional than other Aliens, grieving Piko-chan's death with tears, but on the other hand, he is shunned by green aliens, and also, in the contrast, trying to kill them. Like The Stranger, this character is distinct from other Aliens, but his existance is not mentioned at all after Piko-chan Monogatari.

Trivia[]
- The term "Aliens" refers to extraterrestrial intelligence, as well as to strangers who suddenly appear in the daily lives of the children in Pikotan.
- The verb "Mawasu" (まわす) is used in Japanese for "rotate" in the above quote, which has not only the original meaning of "to rotate" but also "to start taking a video with a camera".
- Although it remains unclear about Piko-chan's poison that possibly killed Aliens after Piko-chan's death, it is speculated that it is prion disease based on the depiction like cannibalism in the work.
