The Aliens are supporting antagonists in the indie Spelunky series, serving as major antagonists in Spelunky Classic, major antagonists in its HD remake Spelunky HD and supporting antagonists in its sequel Spelunky 2.
They are the eyeball weak Aliens that are also the minions of their Alien lord and Alien Queen that help them invade the earth caves. They use their UFOs and Alien Tanks to destroy and annihilate the main protagonist Guy Spelunky and the other spelunkers when they enter the mother ship.
In Spelunky 2, The Aliens and Olmites continue to clash within the ancient city of the future, creating a chaotic battleground of destruction. The Aliens annihilate Ana Spelunky, the Olmites and the Lamassu
Biography[]
Spelunky Classic[]
one-eyed Aliens pilot of a UFO will occasionally bail out of a UFO that has been destroyed in mid-air. They parachute towards the ground after leaving the ship. Aliens can be killed in mid-air while parachuting. they behave exactly like snakes once they touch the ground, and are easily dealt with in the same manner.
- n may cause the laser to strike at point-blank range, abruptly exploding both the alien and you.
- A UFO is knocked down by a projectile, causing you to be blown up.
Bugs[]
- If you hit an UFO with any thrown object or projectile, it has a minuscule chance to duplicate into many more UFOs. This can be deadly as the duplicate UFOs will most likely explode, causing you to be launched back or killed by the explosion.
Spelunky HD[]
Aliens are weak enemies that may appear when UFOs are destroyed.
When a UFO takes damage in mid-air, the Alien will bail out of the crashing ship and parachute to the ground.
If it lands on solid ground, it will begin roaming back and forth around the platform, spontaneously hopping into the air every so often.
There is a very rare chance they can be found in pots outside of the Ice Caves, but it's extremely uncommon.
Spelunky 2[]
Aliens are weak enemies that may appear escaping from UFOs, piloting Mechs, residing in The Mothership, or incredibly rarely found in Pots.
Function[]
When a UFO takes damage in mid-air and falls for long enough before exploding, the Alien pilot will bail out of the crashing ship and use a parachute to safely land on the ground.
If they land on solid ground, they will begin roaming back and forth around the platform, spontaneously hopping into the air every so often, even off of cliffs.
Aliens have a special animation for when sent directly upwards, giving them the appearance of happily bouncing on Springs if they find themselves on one.
There is an extremely rare chance they can be found in pots, even outside of The Ice Caves and Neo Babylon.
Trivia[]
- The Plasma Cannon, MOYA-class mechanized armor, and Alien Compass all find their origins from these peculiar creatures.
- Their home is The Mothership, where the Alien Queen, Lahamu resides.
- The Aliens feel neglected by their creator, Queen Tiamat, as they believe she favors the Olmites, even placing her Throne within their city of Neo Babylon. Because of this, an age old conflict between the two races have raged on for a long time, even still seen today in Neo Babylon with UFOs attacking Olmites and Lamassu, and Olmites seen driving stolen Mechs in Neo Babylon.
