Soon after, we see Alik and his men chase Jack McClane across a highway bridge. As soon as their car topples over, Alik and his henchmen open fire upon the police, forcing John McClane to alert Alik to his location as a distraction.
Alik later attacks the CIA warehouse where Kormarov is being held. Eventually, the two manage to untie themselves, kill their captors and escape.
Having learned that the file they are seeking is in the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, Alik heads there to find it. However, upon reaching the supposed location along with Komarov, it turns out the file never actually existed, and the real plan was to siphon off enriched weapons grade Uranium from the reactor. Alik becomes outraged and demands the file, only to be shot in the head by Komarov and killed.
