All the World's Evil (この世全ての悪 Kono Yo Subete no Aku), previously known as Angra Mainyu or Avenger, is a major antagonist of the Fate franchise.
Angra Mainyu was the Avenger class servant summoned in the third holy grail war. After Avenger is killed, it corrupted the grial into All the World's Evil, which can only grant the wish in the worst way as possible.
In Fate/Stay Night, it takes the form an ominious, ghost-like entity who wanders Fuyuki City, consuming magical energy from Servants. It is seemingly loyal to Zouken, though it may simply be manipulated by him. Zouken later reveals that he is unable to communicate with it or even calm it down.

Angra Mainyu was the "Avenger" class servant summoned in the Third Grail war by the Einzbern family, to replace the regular Berserker servant. Angra Mainyu was believed to be a living darkness that would be able to win the Holy Grail War by brute force, but after being summoned, it was revealed that he is extremely weak and non-combatant, and was killed four days after being summoned. After Avenger was killed, he was trapped in the Holy Grail. As a result, the Grial was corrupted by Angra Mainyu's hatred and thus can only grant the user's wish in the worst way as possible.
Fate/Zero[]
After Irisviel is killed by Kirei Kotomine, All the World's Evil possesses her and is able to use her form. When Kiritsugu is supposed to win the Grial war, All the World's Evil appears in the form of Irisviel to communicate with Kiritsugu, and uses hallucination to manipulate him into using the grial to wipe out all the humanity in the world. Kiritsugu rejects the shadow Irisviel and strangles her to death.
Having witnessed that the Grial is corrupted, Kiritsugu used the command seal to force Saber to destroy the Grial. However, a large amount of grial mud flows from the destroyed Grial. The Grial instead recognizes Kirei as the winner and causes the Great Fire of Fuyuki in response to Kirei's wish, killing over five hundreds of people and burning down 134 buildings. The grial mud gives Gilgamesh a physical form and revived Kirei by using mud to replace Kirei's heart.
Fate/Stay Night[]
All the World's Evil manifests itself as Sakura Matou undergoes her transformation as the Holy Grail during the events of the Heaven's Feel route. In its shapeless, almost alien-like form, the Black Shadow haunts the city of Fuyuki, feeding off of the energy of people and other Servants. Eventually, however, it begins to gain awareness and realize that it can obtain more energy from consuming its victims wholely.
The Shadow is born from Sakura's state of unconciousness. Though it will act to protect Sakura from whoever or whatever it is she hates, it is likely that this is out of its personal desire to survive, as it cannot exist without Sakura.
There are no conventional ways to defeat the Black Shadow, as simply touching the creature is deadly to humans and Servants. Because of this, it is easily capable of consuming Lancer during his battle with True Assassin. The Shadow even manages to incapacitate Shirou for a short amount of time, leaving him traumatized at the memory of his first encounter with it.
Personality[]
Much like the creature itself, the personality of the All the World's Evil is a mystery. It never speaks, and simply saunters around Fuyuki looking for sources of magical energy to consume. It seems to possess a simple primal instinct of eating to survive, though it also appears to be fully sentient.
It is incredibly destructive, consuming up to hundreds of people without prejudice in a single night. As it is formed from the contents of the Holy Grail, of which its pieces were implanted inside Sakura by Zouken, it remains bound to Sakura and effectively serves as her own "Servant". The only true way to stop the Shadow is to stop Sakura herself.
