The Alliance for Popular Resistance (abbreviated as the APR) are one of the two main antagonists (alongside the United Front for Liberation and Labour) of Far Cry 2. They are the military foreigners from another African nation who wish to incorporate the UAC with the rest of Africa, and they are in civil war with the UFLL.
Overview[]
In 1998, the Alliance for Popular Resistance took over the Unnamed African Country, crumbling the government in the process. Since the second civil war in 2005, they fought the UFLL who want to claim the independence of the country; in spite of doing so, the APR has provoked more UAC citizens to flee to other African countries as of late 2008. The APR came from a link of foreign African nations, only to be headed by one of the unnamed country's past political leaders.
It is unknown if either the UFLL or the APR shall win the war, but it is believed that it shall end in a stalemate shortly after the Jackal has gone.
Ideology[]
While the APR came from other African countries, they sought to merge the UAC as they plans to create the African union. They were made-up with the foreign army and mercenaries and the remnants of the UAC army in an effort to crush the organized resistance of the UFLL and to keep the UAC under their control. Judging the red star printed on their propaganda, the APR have the far-left doctrines. Despite this, they labelled the UFLL a "communist dictatorship", implying the APR are anti-Communists and on the right of the political spectrum while the UFLL are on the left as the latter's name implies. However, both factions most likely have the identical beliefs and ideals, such as their interest in greed and power, and oppression of people.
