The Alpha Legion are antagonists in Warhammer 40k. The 20th and final Astartes Legion from the First Founding, the Alpha Legion were originally called the Ghost Legion and are the espionage and subterfuge specialists of the Imperium of Man. Lead by their Primarch the mysterious Alpharius Omegon, who in reality is actually a pair of twins, the XXth Legion would ultimately side with the heretics during the Horus Heresy and turn their backs forever upon the Imperium. However, due to their nature of never ending secret schemes and covert backstabs, there are whispers and rumors that the Alpha Legion has in fact remained loyalist and are simply pretending to be heretical as part of a deep cover campaign. Over the ages this has gotten to a point where not even its own members are entirely sure of their allegiance anymore, but they remain for all intents and purposes traitors to humanity. They are the archenemies of the Raven Guard.
