Alphonso Hargreeves is one of the 16 super-powered babies born on October 1, 1989, in the Sparrow timeline. He was adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves and became a member of the Sparrow Academy, alongside of his siblings.
He was played by Jake Epstein.
Personality[]
Alphonso Hargreeves is a scarred crime-fighter known for his caustic and biting sense of humor. He takes pleasure in verbally tormenting his enemies, almost as much as he enjoys indulging in pizza and beer.
He appeared to be quite close to Jayme, frequently seen in her company and showing significant concern for her. Alphonso also doesn't seem to be particular about his food preferences, often seen eating, which contributes to his current physique.

Alphonso was born on October 1, 1989, as one of sixteen children born to women who had not been pregnant at the start of the day. Along with six other children from this group, he was adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves and grew up as a member of the Sparrow Academy, a team of superheroes.
In 2014, Pogo, Reginald's long-time assistant and friend, left the Academy following a disagreement with Hargreeves. The Sparrows were deeply affected by Pogo's departure, but their former mentor provided them with medication designed to subdue Reginald. With Reginald incapacitated, Alphonso and the other Sparrows managed the Sparrow Academy according to their own preferences for the following five years.
Season 3[]
Meeting The Umbrella Academy[]
When the Umbrella Academy and the Sparrow Academy clashed, Alphonso initially stayed on the sidelines until Allison punched him in the face, prompting him to retaliate and strike her back. After this, he didn't make much of an impact on the fight.
During training sessions, Alphonso and the rest of the Sparrows were reprimanded by Marcus after they were all defeated by Viktor. Later, while shopping at the supermarket with Jayme, they ran into Diego, which led to a confrontation. Diego punched Alphonso, knocking him down, and Jayme had to intervene so Alphonso could use his inhaler. Despite this, Alphonso continued to be pelted with cans thrown by Stan.
Eventually, Alphonso and Jayme coerced Reginald Hargreeves into signing a document and taking his medication. The Sparrows later planned an attack on the Umbrellas at the Hotel Obsidian.
Death[]
Alphonso, along with the other surviving members of the Sparrow Academy, confronted Allison, Diego, Luther, and Viktor in the lobby of the Hotel Obsidian. As Christopher incapacitated the four of them and Jayme and Alphonso prepared to kill them, Harlan Cooper arrived and unleashed a powerful blast from his chest. The blast killed both Alphonso and Jayme, resulting in severe disfigurement of their faces.
