Alraune, also known as the Whisperer of Dementia and the Whisperer of Insanity, is a major antagonist in the 2014 action-adventure game Bayonetta 2 and a minor antagonist in its 2022 sequel, Bayonetta 3.
She was once a normal human who committed suicide after being abandoned by her husband. Reborn as a demon in Inferno, Alraune spends ages claiming its "most exquisite souls" to force them to be her "lovers". She eventually steals the soul of Bayonetta's best friend, Jeanne, and decides to use the power of Umbra Witches to conquer Inferno. She is also the archenemy of Bayonetta's demonic benefactor, Madama Butterfly.

Alraune was once a normal woman who killed herself, using a mandrake poison as a way to cope with her husband leaving her. As a result, she was relocated to inferno where she became an Infernal Demon. Alraune would be known for stealing souls for power by using a special poison to douse them. Alraune and Madama Butterfly would later form a rivalry with each other.
Bayonetta 2[]

Alraune would steal Jeanne's soul to consume all the power out of it. Bayonetta would ambush the place that Alraune's hideout. Alraune would get angry at Bayonetta for trespassing in her hideout. Alraune would give Bayonetta an option to leave or fight her. Bayonetta would refuse to leave. Alraune would realize that Bayonetta and Madama Butterfly are a pact and would fight them. Bayonetta would defeat Alraune but Alraune would not give up and turn into her second form using the power from Jeanne's soul. Alraune would defeat again and Bayonetta would free Jeanne's soul. Bayonetta would attempt to punch and defeat Alraune but Rodin would stop her from doing so. Rodin would make Alraune into a weapon called the Alrauna, which would seal her in the weapon.
Bayonetta 3[]
Alraune is a secret boss of Bayonetta 3. When defeated she can be used as one of Bayonetta's demons she can use during battke.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
Alraune is a Novice Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate taking the form of her Dementia base form in the Spirit picture.
