Alzar is a minor antagonist in Arcania: Gothic 4. He was a mad alchemist who wanted to do crazy experiments, but the hero killed him.
Biography[]
Alzar lived in the area of North-Silverlake, a place called the Valley of Blood. The area got its name from the fact that the people of Rhobar III fought several serious battles in this area. Alzar lived in a small hut and one day he met an nameless shepherd. Alzar needed mushrooms because he was doing alchemy experiments. This mushroom species was the deadly morels. He said this mushroom is very rare and only grows where there is a lot of fresh blood. There had recently been a serious battle to the north-east and he thought there might be such a mushroom there. However, Alzar did not want to go for the mushrooms because there were goblins in the area. The shepherd was already suspicious of Alzat's behavior because he spoke surprisingly cheerfully and enthusiastically about the blood. Alzar also said he also conducted experiments at Gawaan's Castle, but was chased away. But he didn't want to talk about why. As he said his story is too „silly” to tell. He promised the shepherd that if he brought the morels he would teach him to enhance mana potions. The shepherd went to the battlefield and also found deadly morels, but he he saw no goblins anywhere. He went back to Alzar and nervously handed him the mushrooms. Then Alzar gave a surprising answer, he needed a fresh skull. However, the shepherd also found a skull while collecting the mushrooms in the battlefield and offered it to Alzar. Alzar behaved more and more strangely and sickly. He was very pleased, but he said that skull was not good for him because it was not fresh.
The shepherd then realized that probably Arzan was chased out of the castle because he was a mad man and now he wanted to kill him. The shepherd ran out of patience and pulled out his sword to defend himself. Arzan was then preparing to use electrokinesis, but the hero was stronger and defeated the madman.
Personality[]
Alzar was pretended to be a friendly, curious man. He was actually a insane, chaotic, homicidal person.
Powers and Abilities[]
Despite his insanity, Alzar was not a weak mage, he was capable of electrokinesis, and he was tough.
Trivia[]
- Alzar was probably a cultist of Beliar, as he wore a skull helmet like the sect members and only Beliar’s followers were so insane like him.
