The Amazonian Anacondas are one of the two main antagonists (alongside Paul Serone) of the 1997 action horror film Anaconda.
These creatures, unlike their real-life counterparts, are a subspecies of giant anaconda who are encountered by a group of people filming a National Geographic documentary in the Amazon River of Brazil.
Their vocal effects were provided by Frank Welker, who also did the sound effects of Sharptooth in The Land Before Time, Max 3000 in Man's Best Friend, Sabor in Tarzan, Rudy in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, the Harvesters in Independence Day, Ludmilla as a dragon in Bartok the Magnificent, and Mor'du in Brave.

These individuals look exactly like their real-life counterparts, except they are abnormally large and have a more muscular build. They are also brownish green with orange highlights near their orange-yellow eyes and orange spots running down their sides.
Personality[]
Unlike their real-life counterparts, these anacondas are shown to be abnormally huge and are portrayed as extremely dangerous, ferocious, bloodthirsty, but also clever and sadistic predators as they are shown to have a certain amount of intellect, even though they are just portrayed as being animalistic such as behaving and living naturally like ordinary anacondas and relying solely on their predatory instincts to survive.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Prehensile Body: Just like their real-life counterparts, these anacondas are able to use their prehensile bodies to wrap around and squeeze their prey to death before swallowing them whole.
- Enhanced Strength: These anacondas are extraordinarily strong due to their large size as they are powerful enough to grapple with and subdue their prey, constricting them until their bones crack.
- Enhanced Speed: These anacondas are shown to be extremely fast as they can move faster than their real-life counterparts.
- Enhanced Durability: These anacondas demonstrate an incredible degree of durability, making them almost impossible to wound or kill as one of them was capable of withstanding several strikes with picks and such and pursues Terri and Danny even while on fire, even capable of withstanding an explosion. Unfortunately, these reptiles are not really invincible as they can still be injured and killed by modern human weaponry, shown when one of them was shot in the head while the other was killed with an axe to the head.
- Enhanced Stamina: These anacondas have a large amount of stamina as they are able to hunt down their prey and swim for long periods of time with no exhaustion.
- Enhanced Senses: Just like their real-life counterparts, these anacondas possess acute senses, especially their extraordinarily sense of smell, enabling them to pick up the scent of any prey a mile away. Like their real-life counterparts, they also have forked tongues which they can use to smell, navigate their surroundings or even allow them to sense from which direction a smell is coming.
- High Intelligence: These anacondas are extremely clever, possessing feats of intelligence as they are capable of displaying the ability to learn and strategize.
- Prehensile Tail: The tails of these anacondas are shown to be powerful enough to hold opponents in their grasp, knock them off their feet and even use them to smack their targets.
- Jaw Expansion: The jaws of these anacondas are incredibly flexible and can be unhinged with ease, enabling them to open their mouths incredibly wide enough to devour their prey whole.
- Sharp Teeth: These anacondas have mouthfuls of sharp fangs that are used for eating and swallowing their prey whole.
- Stealth: These anacondas are shown to be adept at stealth as they are capable of keeping themselves hidden without anyone spotting them.
- Hunting Skills: Just like their real-life counterparts, these anacondas are a master of hunting as they are skilled in tracking and determining what sort of prey they are following and how to take it down.
- Swimming Skills: Just like their real-life counterparts, these anacondas have incredible swimming speed, despite their size and prehensile bodies.

Trivia[]
- Unlike their real-life counterparts that can only hiss, these versions of the anacondas have vocal cords that allows them to growl and snarl.
- While snakes can regurgitate consumed prey on command, they do not do so just for the sake of hunting and eating again. Rather, it's a defense mechanism to better help them escape should they be threatened. Needless to say, a full-grown anaconda would not have much to fear from other predators and after eating a man-sized prey, would most definitely slither off somewhere to digest in peace.
