Amentia is a anti-heroic supporting antagonist in the season 2 of Winx Club.
She is the princess of Downland who tries to marry Brandon. One thing that is especially notable of her is that she is a perfectionist, wishing that everything has an absolutely perfect and flawless appearance and is in its proper place.
In the Original Version she is voiced by Alessia La Monica and in the English Version by Priscilla Everett.
Personality[]
Amentia is a capricious and spoiled girl; she loves riches, court life and martial arts, of which she is an expert. Her amentia always knows how to get what she wants: in the second season, the first time she meets the Winx and the Specialists, she falls madly in love with Brandon, but he pushes her away because she loves Stella. When she Amentia threatens to keep Stella prisoner, who was in danger of dying due to lack of sunlight. Thanks to a love spell, she eventually falls in love with Sponsus and decides to marry him, despite his humble social status. Subsequently, she humbly accepts the request of the Winx and the Freelancers to fight Lord Darkar's shadow monsters with Downland's army, proving to have changed greatly from the spoiled girl she once was.
History[]
Stella and Brandon, ended up in a river, land on an underground beach, and are saved by the local population. Taken to the palace of Princess Amentia, the latter falls in love with Brandon at first sight and decides to marry him, forcing him to stay with her in the underground world of Downland. Stella opposes, but Brandon, to save her from the guards and to prevent her from weakening more and more due to the lack of sun, convinces her to return to the surface: the fairy more determined than ever to save her beloved from the clutches of the princess, returns to the surface, and having recharged, first helps Bloom, Aisha and Sky struggling with shadow monsters, and then together with the rest of the group heads towards the Amentia palace. In the kingdom of Downland, however, the preparations for the wedding between Brandon and Amentia are now complete.
Love, while wandering the streets after getting lost, meets Sponsus, a boy in the service of the royal family, drunk after being rejected by Amentia: the Pixie enchants the princess' bouquet of roses, making her fall in love with Sponsus, and so Brandon is safe. The group, now reunited, is free to return to Alfea.
The Winx, the Pixies and the Specialists decide to head towards the Castle of Darkar to free Bloom. Sky, Brandon and Aisha decide to enlist the help of Amentia of the kingdom of Downland. Once they arrive at the palace, Queen Amentia treats them with great contempt due to Brandon who had dumped her during their wedding and she decides to collaborate only if she is beaten in a duel. After the fight, Amentia recognizes that the boys are really good and so she chooses to help them. Amentia's army begins to annihilate the shadow monsters, allowing the specialists' shuttle to have free range, except for her men who have already slipped away, to her dismay.
Amentia's last appearance is in the last episode of the second season, where she is seen at Alfea's party dancing with Sponsus.
