The America Now is a dangerous American domestic militia/terrorist group that act as the villains in the 12th mission of a video-game SWAT 4.
Description[]
The America Now was described as a "small but active domestic militia group" by SWAT commander that professed extreme nationalism and isolationism, and vehemently opposed immigration, free trade, and foreign-owned interests. Judging by the dialogue uttered by the suspects also indicates that they are fiercely against the United Nations and hate any immigrants in the USA.
Before the attack on the Old Granite Hotel, most of their previous actions have been against foreign owned properties, either sabotaging them in the building stage or engaging in serious vandalism which made the properties too expensive to maintain. The attack on the hotel is their first kidnapping, and it only indicated a shift in the group’s tactics. Additionally, the group is looking for a publicity because they demanded that their logo will appear in the newspapers - to which media agreed to do after talk with the police force.
The fact they attacked the Old Granite Hotel is because, James Betincourt Junior is the son of the CEO and majority owner of Betincourt Investments, a French based property development company. Six months ago, they purchased the Granite out of bankruptcy for twelve millions dollars, and have been renovating it ever since - as according to the reporter on the radio, Old Granite Hotel is a local landmark. The America Now claims that Betincourt Investments owes this as a "down payment on their debt to the American People". They attacked the hotel as they knew James Beticourt Jr. and Lawrence Adams were making a tour to check the renovation works. Additionally America Now members also planted bombs around the structure and wired them to destroy the hotel.
The End Of The Group[]
On May 1, 2008 at 18:12, the SWAT team enters the Old Granite Hotel to arrest or eventually kill all America Now members and save the hostages. Inside the building, the officers see one big mess, due to the renovation works as well as extremely aggressive members of America Now who won't stop until their demands are met. One of the rooms even have xenophobic writing made by America Now which just shows their hatred toward other countries, and in this case France. Additionally, the officers find four bombs that were planted in order to destroy the hotel. The plot ultimately failed when SWAT neutralized the terrorists, defused the bombs, and freed the hostages, effectively bringing an end to the group.
