Amikiri is the scissor-themed Minor Youkai of the Youkai Army Corps, working under Gashadokuro and a supporting antagonist in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, serving as a minor antagonist in the fourth episode and the main antagonist of the 17th episode.
She was played by Ami Kawai who previously played Marsha and Karsha in Kidou Keiji Jiban and Lamie in Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger two years earlier.
Personality[]
Amikiri was an incredibly angry, vengeful and foul tempered Youkai whose sole motivation was killing Saizou to get revenge for what his ancestor did long ago.
Biography[]
Past[]
Amikiri first came to be when humanity's negative emotions physically manifested and formed thier own group under the leadership of the most powerful of thier kind; Daimaou. One thousand years ago, Amikiri was among the army of Yokai who attacked Ninjaman whilst he defended a village. Amikiri was evidently able to escape alive but Ninjaman was banished by the Three God Generals as he slaughtered his entire village after mistaking them for Yokai.
Years later, Amikiri fought Saizou's ancestor who was able to cut off her right arm during a duel. Amikiri fashioned her old arm into a massive serrated claw and swore revenge but was unable to achieve it because Daimaou was sealed behind the Seal Door by the Ancient Kakurangers and Amikiri was reduced to a human form.
Kakuranger[]
By 1994, Amikiri has evolved into a more human-like form by the time that the Yo Power is released by Kappa. By this time, she has moved into the neighbourhood controlled by Azukiarai thanks to posing as the local police chief.
Amikiri is amongst the Youkai seen at Azukiarai's underground party to celebrate his capture of four of the Kakurangers. When Sasuke poses as a Youkai and manages to free his friends, Amikiri joins the battle before escaping when the Kakurangers pursue Azukairai outside.
After the deaths of Nurikabe and Mokumokuren, Amikiri is seen watching Keukegen dance in the Youkai Mansion for other Youkai after the Announcer reminds the audience that they are just two of many Youkai still out there.
Amikiri is amongst the Youkai seen at Oonyuudou's party to celebrate miniaturising an entire town for himself to play with.
Amikiri is the number one favourite Youkai as seen on Youkai Weekly that Tengu picks up as he desires to become better than her.
After the deaths of the Shuten Douji Brothers in battle against the Kakurangers, Amikiri approaches Junior with the goal to kill Saizou to get revenge for what his ancestor did and he grants permission. Amikiri is first seen in her human form when Saizou approaches her in a car bought with his savings and she disassembles his car just with a katana. She then cuts all of his clothes off for fun but leaves when the other Kakurangers appear in Nekomaru. Later, she confronts Saizou when he pursues a child that took a photo of him naked for blackmail and reveals her true form and motive for wanting to kill him. Amikiri easily beats him down only for the other Kakurangers to appear and withdraw when she launches her claw blades at them.
Amikiri is then seen dancing in the Youkai Mansion for other Youkai after Junior kidnaps a boy named Tooru who took pictures of her earlier attack on Saizou's car as the photos may allow the Kakurangers to find a weakness in her technique. When he reveals the photographs to her though, they find his photography to have been so amateurish that he captured none of the fight and she decides to use him as a hostage to lure out Saizou. Confronting him in a warehouse, she gains the upper-hand until he throws smoke bombs which allow him to free Tooru and tell him to take pictures of the fight. The fight continues outside with Amikiri easily beating Saizou down even after he morphs so he leads her through a swamp and into the quarry. Throughout, she continually overwhelms him until the Kakurangers arrive and reveal a weakness before she sends Dorodoros to attack them. As sunset falls, she and Saizou attack for the final time but he is able to knock away her claw and defeat her with the Square Formation because she leaves an opening to attack her as she swings her claw. Enraged, Amikiri grows giant sized so they form Muteki Shogun which she charges at but is immediately killed by the Blazing Shogun Sword.
Amikiri is recalled by the Announcer whilst recapping the Kakurangers' war against the Yokai during his feature on the Kakurangers.
Amikiri is seen, along with all the other defeated Yokai, behind the Seal Door after Daimaou is finally sealed away by the Kakurangers. Reeling that they are now powerless in captivity, the Yokai all vow that they will one day be reborn and regain their power, cursing humanity. She is also remembered by Saizou as having fought her whilst he leaves in Nekomaru to inform the world of how to stop the Youkai from returning.
Gaoranger vs Super Sentai[]
Yusuke of the Livemen recalls Amikiri fighting Saizou in the quarry to Gaku Woshio of the Gaorangers during a speech about the past fights that other Sentai have had after Lost Highness Duke Rakushaasa makes him lose hope.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Amikiri was able to cut the roof off of Saizou's car with a single swing of her katana and send Saizou flying with one swing of her claw arm. She was also strong enough to pick up and throw Saizou straight through some boxes.
- Durability: Amikiri survived Saizou's Square Cut and exploding without a scratch.
- Skilled Fighter: Amikiri was a skilled fighter, being able to match Saizou in combat and even overwhelm him.
- Longevity: Amikiri survived for at least six thousand years with no side effects.
- Human Form: Amikiri could assume the form of a human woman in a red dress by dancing and fading in and out of existence.
- Expert Swordswoman: Amikiri was extremely skilled with a katana, being able to utterly destroy Saizou's car and cut his clothes off without laying a scratch on him.
- Bilingualism: Amikiri could fluently speak both English and Japanese.
- Super Speed: Amikiri could attack at inhuman speeds, rendering any attempts by the enemy to defend themselves useless.
- Fireballs: Amikiri could fire orange fireballs from her left hand strong enough to cause large explosions in the lake around Saizou and eventually knock him down.
- Agility: Amikiri was sent flying by jump kicks from Sasuke and Jiraya but landed on her feet.
- Dorodoro Summoning: Amikiri was able to summon Dorodoros to aid her in battle.
- Yokai Lightning Cloud Summoning: Amikiri was able to summon the Yokai Lightning Cloud to enlarge herself with its Yo Power.
Weaknesses[]
- Attack Opening: When she swung her Demon Sword, Amikiri left herself with a small opening where she could be struck down if her Sword was blocked.
Arsenal[]
- Demon Sword: Amikiri replaced her right hand with a sickle claw after her original was cut off.
- Deathblow; Detaching Blade: Amikiri could launch the top and bottom segments of her Demon Sword through her enemies to cut them down.
- Katana: Amikiri wielded a katana in her human form when she met Saizou. She wielded the same weapon whilst fighting his ancestor.

Notes[]
- In mythology, Amikiri are known for cutting fisherman and mosquito nets which was something that the episode got wrong by saying they cut washing lines.
