Amond is a henchman of Turles and the secondary antagonist of the Dragon Ball Z movie, The Tree of Might.
He was voiced by Banjō Ginga in the Japanese version, and by Paul Dobson in Ocean Group dubs, Paul Bandey in AB Groupe dub and J. Paul Slavens in Funimation dub in the English dubbed version.
History[]
In the past, he was a notorious criminal and was arrested by the Galactic Patrol. While incarcerated, the prison he was in came under attack and he was recruited by Saiyan Space Pirate Turles. He seems to be Turles' second-in-command, as he leads the men in his absence.
Amond accompanied Turles, along with his cohorts, Daizu, Cacao, Rasin, and Lakasei to Earth where they planted the Tree of Might.
Amond and his cohorts took on and easily defeated the Z Fighters, until they fought against Son Goku who held his own against them. He was killed easily after the Saiyan used his Kaio-ken and delivered a bone shattering knee strike to Amond's stomach.
Powers[]
Amond has the superhuman abilities and energy manipulation abilities, shared by many characters throughout the Dragon Ball series. He does have one unique ability, the power to spin himself around, resembling a small tornado, allowing him to deflect energy-based attacks. He also possesses a variation of the Explosive Wave technique, which he used to create a fissure in the ground, so that the Tree of Might could be planted.
Trivia[]
- Amond's name is a pun on the word, almond.
- He resembles a cross between both Recoome and Zarbon, giving him somewhat of an Indian appearance. However, his race is unknown.
