Amy Hardwood AKA The Shadow, was the main antagonist of the fifth episode of Blackadder the Third: "Amy and Amiabillity".
She was portrayed by Miranda Richardson, who also portrayed Queen Elizabeth I in Blackadder II, Queen Asphyxia XIX in Blackadder's Christmas Carol, Jude in The Crying Game, Mrs. Tweedy in Chicken Run, Emily Brent in the 2015 TV adaptation of And Then There Were None, Sybil Birling in the 2015 TV film An Inspector Calls, Lady Van Tassel in Sleepy Hollow, Mab in Merlin, and the Queen of Hearts in the 1999 TV adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.
Biography[]
Amy Hardwood came from a rather poor background. She was born to Mr. Hardwood and an unnamed mother. She at some point in her life she became a Highway Man and earned the nickname "The Shadow". After killing her father, she conspired with Edmund Blackadder to go to Barbados. The next night they meet up and She threatens him to give her the loot he stole from The Prince and has him tied up. However, Baldrick finds and unties him later it was revealed in the paper that she was arrested and hung.
Personality[]
On the surface, she seems like a ditsy and innocent young woman, but underneath this facade, she is a cunning killer who will take any course of action to get what she wants. While she says it's against her principles to shoot animals, she has no problems with shooting squirrels.
