~ The Remembrance of the Regal Ancestor. |
Ancestor Spirits are minor antagonists and optional bosses in the 2022 video game Elden Ring. They are spirits that can be encountered and fought in the Siofra River.
Appearance[]
The Ancestor Spirits' appearance is that of a deer, however they appeared to be emaciated and somewhat withered and sickly with exposed ribs, matted fur, and cavities on their chests.
Biography[]
Ancestor Spirits are deer-like spirits that exist beyond the purview of the Erdtree and they follow a principle that life sprouts from death as it does from birth. This phenomenal process is seen in the horns of the Ancestor Spirits, which sprouts new growths even after an Ancestor Spirit dies. A race of horned people called Ancestral Followers are known to worship these deer spirits with their shamans wearing headdresses that are fashioned from horns with buds, which mirrored the appearance of the Ancestor Spirits.
Elden Ring[]
Only Two Ancestor Spirits can be encountered in the game as optional bosses.
One Ancestor Spirit can be found and fought in the Siofra River in Limgrave. In order to access the boss fight, the Tarnished is required to light eight flames dotted around the area and then touch the horn remains located in the Hallowhorn Grounds south-east of the banks of the Siofra River, where a site of Grace can be found. During the boss fight, the Ancestor Spirit can jump up and hop while in mid-air and produce energy from its mouth while both on ground and in the air
Notable Members[]
Regal Ancestor Spirit[]
This Ancestor Spirit can also be found in the Siofra River. Much like the first the Ancestor Spirit, the Tarnished is once again required to light the flames in the surrounding area, though this time it's six instead of eight, and then touch the horned remains. Though the Regal Ancestor Spirit fights in the same way as the previous Ancestor Spirit, however, once the player reduced its health by half, it will begin siphoning energy from the player and from spirit animals within the arena to heal itself.
The Regal Ancestor also possessed the abilities that are reminiscent of other animals; this includes charging like a boar, hopping like a rabbit, or curling into a ball and rolling like a goat.
